بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
يَا سَالِخَ النَّهَارِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِذَا نَحْنُ مُظْلِمُوْنَ
yā sālikhan nahāri minal layli fa-idhā naḥnu muẓlimūn
O You who strips the day from the night, and behold we are in darkness
2
وَمُجْرِيَ الشَّمْسِ لِمُسْتَقَرِّهَا بِتَقْدِيرِكَ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا عَلِيمُ
wamujriyash shamsi limustaqarrihā bitaqdīrika yā `azīzu yā `alīm
And You who causes the sun to run to its resting place by Your decree, O Mighty, O All-Knowing
3
وَمُقَدِّرَ الْقَمَرِ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ
wamuqaddiral qamari manāzila ḥattā `āda kal`ur-jūnil qadīm
And You who determines the phases of the moon until it returns like an old palm stalk
4
يَا نُورَ كُلِّ نُورٍ
yā nūra kulli nūr
O Light of all lights
5
وَمُنْتَهَىٰ كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ
wamuntahā kulli raghbah
And ultimate goal of all desires
6
وَوَلِيَّ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ
wawaliyya kulli ni`mah
And Guardian of all blessings
7
يَا اَللَّهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ
yā allāhu yā raḥmān
O Allah, O Most Compassionate
8
يَا اَللَّهُ يَا قُدُّوسُ
yā allāhu yā quddūs
O Allah, O Most Holy
9
يَا اَحَدُ يَا وَاحِدُ يَا فَرْدُ
yā aḥadu yā wāḥidu yā far-d
O One, O Unique, O Singular
10
يَا اَللَّهُ يَا اَللَّهُ يَا اَللَّهُ
yā allāhu yā allāhu yā allāh
O Allah, O Allah, O Allah
11
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ
lakal asmā-ul ḥusnā
To You belong the most beautiful names
12
وَالْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا
wal-amthālul `ulyā
And the highest examples
13
وَالْكِبْرِيَاءُ وَالْآلاَءُ
walkibriyā-u wal-ālā
And greatness and bounties
14
اَسْئَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
as-aluka an tuṣalliya `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
I ask You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
15
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِيْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِيْ السُّعَدَاءِ
wa-an taj`alasmī fī hādhihil laylati fis su`adā
And to make my name, on this night, among the fortunate ones
16
وَرُوحِيْ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ
warūḥī ma`ash shuhadā
And my soul with the martyrs
17
وَإِحْسَانِيْ فِيْ عِلِّيِّينَ
wa-iḥsānī fī `illiyyīn
And my good deeds in the highest places
18
وَإِسَاءَتِيْ مَغْفُورَةً
wa-isā-atī maghfūrah
And my misdeeds forgiven
19
وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لِيْ يَقِينًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي
wa-an tahaba lī yaqīnan tubāshiru bihi qalbī
And to grant me certainty that fills my heart
20
وَإِيـمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكَّ عَنِّي
wa-īmānan yudh-hibush shakka `annī
And faith that removes doubt from me
21
وَتُرْضِيَنِيْ بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي
watur-ḍiyanī bimā qasamta lī
And to make me content with what You have apportioned for me
22
وَ آتِنَا فِيْ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً
wa ātinā fid dunyā ḥasanah
And grant us good in this world
23
وَفِيْ الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً
wafil-ākhirati ḥasanah
And good in the Hereafter
24
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الْحَرِيقِ
waqinā `adhāban nāril ḥarīq
And protect us from the torment of the burning Fire
25
وَارْزُقْنِيْ فِيهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ إِلَيْكَ
war-zuqnī fīhā dhikraka washukraka war raghbata ilayk
And provide me therein with Your remembrance, Your gratitude, and desire towards You
26
وَالْاِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدًا وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ
wal-inābata wat tawfīqa limā waffaqta lahu muḥammadan wa āli muḥammadin `alayhi wa`alayhimus salām
And repentance and success in what You granted success to Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them
