اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ
as salāmu `alayka yā abā ja`far
Peace be upon you, O Abu Ja'far

مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
muḥammadabna `aliyy
Muhammad son of Ali
3
اَلْبَرَّ التَّقِيَّ
al barrat taqiyy
The righteous, the pious
4
اَلْإِمَامَ الْوَفِيَّ
al imāmal wafiyy
The faithful Imam
5
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhar raḍiyyuz zakiyy
Peace be upon you, O the pleasing, the pure
6
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā waliyyallāh
Peace be upon you, O friend of Allah
7
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَجِيَّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā najiyyallāh
Peace be upon you, O confidant of Allah
8
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَفِيرَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā safīrallāh
Peace be upon you, O ambassador of Allah
9
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سِرَّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā sirrallāh
Peace be upon you, O secret of Allah
10
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ضِيَاءَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā ḍiyā-allāh
Peace be upon you, O light of Allah
11
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَنَاءَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā sanā-allāh
Peace be upon you, O radiance of Allah
12
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا كَلِمَةَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā kalimatallāh
Peace be upon you, O word of Allah
13
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā raḥmatallāh
Peace be upon you, O mercy of Allah
14
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النُّورُ السَّاطِعُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhan nūrus sāṭi`
Peace be upon you, O brilliant light
15
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْبَدْرُ الطَّالِعُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal badruṭ ṭāli`
Peace be upon you, O rising full moon
16
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الطَّيِّبُ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِينَ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhaṭ ṭayyibu minaṭ ṭayyibīn
Peace be upon you, O the good from the good ones
17
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الطَّاهِرُ مِنَ الْمُطَهَّرِينَ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhaṭ ṭāhiru minal muṭahharīn
Peace be upon you, O the pure from the purified ones
18
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْآيَةُ الْعُظْمىٰ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal-āyatul `uẓmā
Peace be upon you, O the greatest sign
19
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْحُجَّةُ الْكُبْرىٰ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal ḥujjatul kubrā
Peace be upon you, O the greatest proof
20
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُطَهَّرُ مِنَ الزَّلَّاتِ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal muṭahharu minaz zallāt
Peace be upon you, O the one purified from slips
21
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُنَزَّهُ عَنِ الْمُعْضِلاتِ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal munazzahu `anil mu`ḍilāt
Peace be upon you, O the one free from difficulties
22
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْعَلِيُّ عَنْ نَقْصِ الْأَوْصَافِ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal `aliyyu `an naqṣil awṣāf
Peace be upon you, O the one elevated above imperfect descriptions

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الرَّضِيُّ عِنْدَ الْأَشْرَافِ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhar raḍiyyu `indal ashrāf
Peace be upon you, O the one pleasing among the nobles
24
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَمُودَ الدِّينِ
as salāmu `alayka yā `amūdad dīn
Peace be upon you, O pillar of religion
25
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَلِيُّ اللَّهِ
ash-hadu annaka waliyyullāh
I bear witness that you are the friend of Allah
26
وَحُجَّتُهُ فِيْ أَرْضِهِ
waḥujjatuhu fī ar-ḍih
And His proof on His earth
27
وَأَنَّكَ جَنْبُ اللَّهِ وَخِيَرَةُ اللَّهِ
wa-annaka janbullāhi wakhiyaratullāh
And that you are the side of Allah and the chosen one of Allah
28
وَمُسْتَوْدَعُ عِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَعِلْمِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ
wamustawda`u `ilmillāhi wa`ilmil anbiyā
And the repository of Allah's knowledge and the knowledge of the Prophets
29
وَرُكْنُ الْإِيمَانِ وَتَرْجُمَانُ الْقُرْآنِ
waruknul īmāni watar-jumānul qur-ān
And the pillar of faith and the interpreter of the Quran
30
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ وَالْهُدىٰ
wa-ash-hadu anna manittaba`aka `alal ḥaqqi walhudā
And I bear witness that whoever follows you is on the path of truth and guidance
31
وَأَنَّ مَنْ أَنْكَرَكَ وَنَصَبَ لَكَ الْعَدَاوَةَ
wa-anna man ankaraka wanaṣaba lakal `adāwah
And that whoever denies you and shows enmity towards you
32
عَلَى الضَّلالَةِ وَالرَّدىٰ
`alaḍ ḍalālati war radā
Is on the path of misguidance and destruction
33
أَبْرَأُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
abra-u ilallāhi wa-ilayka minhum fid dunyā wal-ākhirah
I disassociate myself to Allah and to you from them in this world and the hereafter
34
وَالسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ مَا بَقِيتُ وَبَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ
was salāmu `alayka mā baqītu wabaqiyal laylu wan nahār
And peace be upon you as long as I live and as long as night and day exist
