بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
هٰذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ حَسَنَاتُهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِنْكَ
hādhā maqāmu man ḥasanātuhu ni`matun mink
This is the position of one whose good deeds are a blessing from You
2
وَ شُكْرُهُ ضَعِيْفٌ، وَ ذَنْبُهُ عَظِيْمٌ
wa shukruhu ḍa`īf, wa dhanbuhu `aẓīm
And whose gratitude is weak, and whose sin is great
3
وَ لَيْسَ لِذٰلِكَ اِلَّا رِفْقُكَ وَ رَحْمَتُكَ
wa laysa lidhālika illā rifquka wa raḥmatuk
And there is nothing for that except Your gentleness and Your mercy
4
فَإِنَّكَ قُلْتَ فِيْ كِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ
fa-innaka qulta fī kitābikal munzal
For You have said in Your revealed Book
5
عَلَى نَبِيِّكَ الْمُرْسَلِ
`alā nabiyyikal mur-sal
Upon Your sent Prophet
6
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa-ālih
May Allah's blessings be upon him and his family
7
كَانُوْا قَلِيْلًا مِنَ الَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُوْنَ
kānū qalīlan minal layli mā yahja`ūn
They used to sleep but little in the night
8
وَ بِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ
wa bil as-ḥāri hum yastaghfirūn
And in the early hours of dawn, they would seek forgiveness
9
طَالَ هُجُوْعِي
ṭāla hujū`ī
My sleep has been long
10
وَ قَلَّ قِيَامِيْ وَ هٰذَا السَّحْرُ
wa qalla qiyāmī wa hādhas saḥr
And my standing (in prayer) has been little, and this is the time of dawn
11
وَ اَنَا اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِذُنُوْبِي
wa ana astaghfiruka lidhunūbī
And I seek Your forgiveness for my sins
12
اِسْتِغْفَارَ مَنْ لَا يَجِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ
istighfāra man lā yajidu linafsih
The seeking of forgiveness of one who finds for himself
13
ضَرًّا وَ لَا نَفْعًا
ḍarran wa lā naf`ā
Neither harm nor benefit
14
وَ لَا مَوْتًا وَ لَا حَيَاةً
wa lā mawtan wa lā ḥayāh
Neither death nor life
15
وَ لَا نُشُوْرًا
wa lā nushūrā
Nor resurrection
