بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
إِلـٰهِيْ أَلْبَسَتْنِيْ الْخَطَايَا ثَوْبَ مَذَلَّتِي
ilāhī albasatnil khaṭāyā thawba madhallatī
My God, my sins have clothed me in the garment of my humiliation
2
وَجَلَّلَنِيْ التَّبَاعُدُ مِنْكَ لِبَاسَ مَسْكَنَتِي
wajallalanit tabā`udu minka libāsa maskanatī
And being distant from You has wrapped me in the robe of my misery
3
وَأَمَاتَ قَلْبِيْ عَظِيمُ جِنَايَتِي
wa-amāta qalbī `aẓīmu jināyatī
And my great crimes have killed my heart
4
فَأَحْيِهِ بِتَوْبَةٍ مِنْكَ يَا أَمَلِيْ وَبُغْيَتِي
fa-aḥyihi bitawbatin minka yā amalī wabughyatī
So revive it with repentance from You, O my hope and my desire
5
وَيَا سُؤْلِيْ وَمُنْيَتِي
wayā su-lī wamunyatī
O my request and my wish
6
فَوَعِزَّتِكَ مَا أَجِدُ لِذُنُوبِيْ سِوَاكَ غَافِرًا
fawa`izzatika mā ajidu lidhunūbī siwāka ghāfirā
By Your Might, I find no forgiver for my sins besides You
7
وَلَا أَرَىٰ لِكَسْرِيْ غَيْرَكَ جَابِرًا
walā arā likasrī ghayraka jābirā
And I see none who can mend my brokenness other than You
8
وَقَدْ خَضَعْتُ بِالْاِنَابَةِ إِلَيْكَ
waqad khaḍa`tu bil inābati ilayk
I have submitted with repentance to You
9
وَعَنَوْتُ بِالَاسْتِكَانَةِ لَدَيْكَ
wa`anawtu bilastikānati ladayk
And I have humbled myself in lowliness before You
10
فَإِنْ طَرَدْتَنِيْ مِنْ بَابِكَ فَبِمَنْ أَلُوذُ
fa-in ṭaradtanī min bābika fabiman alūdh
If You drive me away from Your door, then with whom shall I seek refuge?
11
وَ اِنْ رَدَدْتَنِيْ عَنْ جَنَابِكَ فَبِمَنْ أَعُوذُ
wa in radadtanī `an janābika fabiman a`ūdh
And if You turn me away from Your presence, then with whom shall I seek protection?
12
فَوَا أَسَفَاهُ مِنْ خَجْلَتِيْ وَافْتِضَاحِي
fawā asafāhu min khajlatī waftiḍāḥī
Oh, how great is my shame and disgrace!
13
وَوَا لَهْفَاهُ مِنْ سُوءِ عَمَلِيْ وَاجْتِرَاحِي
wawā lahfāhu min sū-i `amalī wajtirāḥī
And oh, how deep is my sorrow for my evil deeds and sins!
14
أَسْأَلُكَ يَا غَافِرَ الذَّنْبِ الْكَبِيرِ
as-aluka yā ghāfiradh dhanbil kabīr
I ask You, O Forgiver of great sins
15
وَيَا جَابِرَ الْعَظْمِ الْكَسِيرِ
wayā jābiral `aẓmil kasīr
O Mender of broken bones
16
أَنْ تَهَبَ لِيْ مُوبِقَاتِ الْجَرَائِرِ
an tahaba lī mūbiqātil jarā-ir
To grant me pardon for my devastating crimes
17
وَتَسْتُرَ عَلَيَّ فَاضِحَاتِ السَّرَائِرِ
watastura `alayya fāḍiḥātis sarā-ir
And to conceal my scandalous secrets
18
وَلَا تُخْلِنِيْ فِيْ مَشْهَدِ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ بَرْدِ عَفْوِكَ وَغَفْرِكَ
walā tukhlinī fī mash-hadil qiyāmati min bar-di `afwika waghafrik
And do not deprive me on the Day of Resurrection of the coolness of Your pardon and forgiveness
19
وَلَا تُعْرِنِيْ مِنْ جَمِيلِ صَفْحِكَ وَسَتْرِكَ
walā tu`rinī min jamīli ṣafḥika wasatrik
And do not strip me of Your beautiful overlooking and covering
20
إِلـٰهِيْ ظَلِّلْ عَلَى ذُنُوبِيْ غَمَامَ رَحْمَتِكَ
ilāhī ẓallil `alā dhunūbī ghamāma raḥmatik
My God, spread over my sins the clouds of Your mercy
21
وَأَرْسِلْ عَلَى عُيُوبِيْ سَحَابَ رَأْفَتِكَ
wa-ar-sil `alā `uyūbī saḥāba ra-fatik
And send upon my faults the rain of Your compassion
22
إِلـٰهِيْ هَلْ يَرْجِعُ الْعٰبْدُ الْاَبِقُ إِلَّا إِلَى مَوْلاَهُ
ilāhī hal yar-ji`ul `abdul ābiqu illā ilā mawlāh
My God, does the runaway servant return to anyone except his master?
23
أَمْ هَلْ يُجِيرُهُ مِنْ سَخَطِهِ أَحَدٌ سِوَاهُ
am hal yujīruhu min sakhaṭihi aḥadun siwāh
Or can anyone protect him from His anger besides Him?
24
إِلـٰهِيْ اِنْ كَانَ النَّدَمُ عَلَى الذَّنْبِ تَوْبَةً
ilāhī in kānan nadamu `aladh dhanbi tawbah
My God, if remorse for sin is repentance
25
فَإِنِّيْ وَعِزَّتِكَ مِنَ النَّادِمِيْنَ
fa-innī wa`izzatika minan nādimīn
Then by Your Might, I am among those who feel remorse
26
وَإِنْ كَانَ الْإَسْتِغْفَارُ مِنَ الْخَطِيْئَةِ حِطَّةً
wa-in kānal istighfāru minal khaṭī-ati ḥiṭṭah
And if seeking forgiveness for faults is a reduction of them
27
فَإِنِّيْ لَكَ مِنَ المُسْتَغْفِرِينَ
fa-innī laka minal mustaghfirīn
Then I am one of those who seek Your forgiveness
28
لَكَ الْعُتْبىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَرْضَىٰ
lakal `utbā ḥattā tar-ḍā
Yours is the right to reproach until You are pleased
29
إِلـٰهِيْ بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيَّ تُبْ عَلَيَّ
ilāhī biqudratika `alayya tub `alayy
My God, by Your power over me, accept my repentance
30
وَبِحِلْمِكَ عَنِّيْ اعْفُ عَنِّي
wabiḥilmika `anni`fu `annī
And by Your forbearance toward me, pardon me
31
وَبِعِلْمِكَ بِيْ اِرْفَقْ بِي
wabi`ilmika bī ir-faq bī
And by Your knowledge of me, be gentle with me
32
إِلـٰهِيْ أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ فَتَحْتَ لِعِبَادِكَ بَابًا إِلَى عَفْوِكَ سَمَّيْتَهُ التَّوْبَةَ
ilāhī antal ladhī fataḥta li`ibādika bāban ilā `afwika sammaytahut tawbah
My God, You are the One Who opened for Your servants a door to Your pardon, which You named 'repentance'
33
فَقُلْتَ تُوبُوْا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا
faqulta tūbū ilallāhi tawbatan naṣūḥā
And You said: "Repent to Allah with sincere repentance"
34
فَمَا عُذْرُ مَنْ أَغْفَلَ دُخُولَ الْبَابِ بَعْدَ فَتْحِهِ
famā `udhru man aghfala dukhūlal bābi ba`da fat-ḥih
So what excuse has one who neglects entering the door after it has been opened?
35
إِلـٰهِيْ اِنْ كَانَ قَبُحَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ
ilāhī in kāna qabuḥadh dhanbu min `abdik
My God, if the sin appears ugly from Your servant
36
فَلْيَحْسُنِ الْعَفْوُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
falyaḥsunil `afwu min `indik
Then let forgiveness appear beautiful from You
37
إِلـٰهِيْ مَا أَنَا بِأَوَّلِ مَنْ عَصَاكَ، فَتُبْتَ عَلَيْهِ
ilāhī mā ana bi-awwali man `aṣāk, fatubta `alayh
My God, I am not the first who disobeyed You and whom You forgave
38
وَتَعَرَّضَ بِمَعْرُوفِكَ، فَجُدْتَ عَلَيْهِ
wata`arraḍa bima`rūfik, fajudta `alayh
And who sought Your favor and upon whom You bestowed generosity
39
يَا مُجِيبَ الْمُضْطَرِّ
yā mujībal muḍṭarr
O Responder to the distressed
40
يَا كَاشِفَ الضُّرِّ
yā kāshifaḍ ḍurr
O Remover of harm
41
يَا عَظِيمَ الْبِرِّ
yā `aẓīmal birr
O Source of great goodness
42
يَا عَلِيْمًا بِمَا فِيْ السِّرِّ
yā `alīman bimā fis sirr
O Knower of what is in the secret
43
يَا جَمِيلَ السِّتْرِ
yā jamīlas sitr
O Beautiful in concealing
44
اِسْتَشْفَعْتُ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ إِلَيْكَ
istashfa`tu bijūdika wakaramika ilayk
I seek intercession through Your generosity and nobility to You
45
وَتَوَسَّلْتُ بِجَنَابِكَ وَتَرَحُّمِكَ لَدَيْكَ
watawassaltu bijanābika wataraḥḥumika ladayk
And I seek means through Your protection and Your mercy with You
46
فَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِي
fastajib du`ā-ī
So answer my prayer
47
وَلَا تُخَيِّبْ فِيكَ رَجَائِي
walā tukhayyib fīka rajā-ī
And do not disappoint my hope in You
48
وَتَقَبَّلْ تَوْبَتِي
wataqabbal tawbatī
And accept my repentance
49
وَكَفِّرْ خَطِيْئَتِي
wakaffir khaṭī-atī
And expiate my sins
50
بِمَنِّكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
bimannika waraḥmatik
By Your favor and Your mercy
51
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
