بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
2
وَاكْفِنَا طُـولَ الْأَمَـلِ، وَقَصِّرْهُ عَنَّا بِصِدْقِ الْعَمَلِ
wakfinā ṭūlal amal, waqaṣṣir-hu `annā biṣidqil `amal
And spare us from lengthy hope, and shorten it for us with sincere action

حَتَّى لَا نُؤَمِّلَ اسْتِتْمَامَ سَاعَةٍ بَعْدَ سَاعَةٍ
ḥattā lā nu-ammilastitmāma sā`atin ba`da sā`ah
So that we do not hope for the completion of one hour after another
4
وَلَا اسْتِيفَاءَ يَوْمٍ بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ
walastīfā-a yawmin ba`da yawm
Nor for the fulfillment of one day after another
5
وَلَا اتِّصَالَ نَفَسٍ بِنَفَسٍ
walattiṣāla nafasin binafas
Nor for the connection of one breath to another
6
وَلَا لُحُـوقَ قَدَمٍ بِقَـدَمٍ
walā luḥūqa qadamin biqadam
Nor for the following of one step by another
7
وَسَلِّمْنَا مِنْ غُرُورِهِ، وَ آمِنَّا مِنْ شُـرُورِهِ
wasallimnā min ghurūrih, wa āminnā min shurūrih
Save us from its deception, and protect us from its evils
8
وَانْصِبِ الْمَوْتَ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْنَا نَصْبًا
wanṣibil mawta bayna aydīnā naṣbā
And place death firmly before our eyes
9
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ ذِكْرَنَا لَهُ غِبًّا
walā taj`al dhikranā lahu ghibbā
And do not make our remembrance of it occasional
10
وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ صَالِحِ الْأَعْمَالِ
waj`al lanā min ṣāliḥil a`māl
And grant us from the righteous deeds
11
عَمَلًا نَسْتَبْطِئُ مَعَهُ الْمَصِيرَ إِلَيْكَ
`amalan nastabṭi-u ma`ahul maṣīra ilayk
A deed with which we find slow our journey towards You
12
وَنَحْرِصُ لَهُ عَلَى وَشْكِ اللِّحَاقِ بِكَ
wanaḥriṣu lahu `alā washkil liḥāqi bik
And through which we eagerly hasten to meet You
13
حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْمَوْتُ مَأْنَسَنَا الَّذِيْ نَأْنَسُ بِهِ
ḥattā yakūnal mawtu ma-nasanal ladhī na-nasu bih
Until death becomes our companion with which we feel comfortable
14
وَمَأْلَفَنَا الَّذِيْ نَشْتَاقُ إِلَيْهِ، وَحَامَّتَنَا الَّتِيْ نُحِبُّ الدُّنُوَّ مِنْهَا
wama-lafanal ladhī nashtāqu ilayh, waḥāmmatanal latī nuḥibbud dunuwwa minhā
And our familiar place to which we long, and our special concern which we love to draw near to
15
فَإِذَا أَوْرَدْتَهُ عَلَيْنَا، وَأَنْزَلْتَهُ بِنَا
fa-idhā awradtahu `alaynā, wa-anzaltahu binā
So when You bring it upon us, and cause it to descend upon us
16
فَأَسْعِدْنَا بِهِ زَائِرًا، وَ آنِسْنَا بِهِ قَادِمًا
fa-as`idnā bihi zā-irā, wa ānisnā bihi qādimā
Make us happy with it as a visitor, and comfort us with it as one who arrives
17
وَلَا تُشْقِنَا بِضِيَافَتِهِ، وَلَا تُخْزِنَا بِزِيَارَتِهِ
walā tushqinā biḍiyāfatih, walā tukhzinā biziyāratih
And do not make us miserable by hosting it, nor disgrace us by its visitation
18
وَاجْعَلْهُ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ مَغْفِرَتِكَ
waj`alhu bāban min abwābi maghfiratik
And make it a door from the doors of Your forgiveness
19
وَمِفْتَاحًا مِنْ مَفَاتِيحِ رَحْمَتِكَ
wamiftāḥan min mafātīḥi raḥmatik
And a key from the keys of Your mercy
20
أَمِتْنَا مُهْتَدِيْنَ غَيْرَ ضَالِّينَ
amitnā muhtadīna ghayra ḍāllīn
Cause us to die guided, not astray
21
طَائِعِينَ غَيْرَ مُسْتَكْرِهِينَ، تَائِبِينَ غَيْرَ عَاصِينَ وَلَا مُصِرِّينَ
ṭā-i`īna ghayra mustakrihīn, tā-ibīna ghayra `āṣīna walā muṣirrīn
Obedient, not reluctant; repentant, not disobedient nor persistent in sin
22
يَا ضَامِنَ جَزَاءِ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ
yā ḍāmina jazā-il muḥsinīn
O Guarantor of the reward of the good-doers
23
وَمُسْتَصْلِحَ عَمَلِ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ
wamustaṣliḥa `amalil mufsidīn
And Reformer of the actions of the corrupters
