بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى حُسْنِ قَضَائِكَ
allāhumma lakal ḥamdu `alā ḥusni qaḍā-ik
O Allah, to You belongs all praise for Your excellent decree
2
وَبِمَا صَرَفْتَ عَنِّيْ مِنْ بَلَائِكَ
wabimā ṣarafta `annī min balā-ik
And for what You have averted from me of Your trials
3
فَلَا تَجْعَلْ حَظِّيْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ مَا عَجَّلْتَ لِيْ مِنْ عَافِيَتِكَ
falā taj`al ḥaẓẓī min raḥmatika mā `ajjalta lī min `āfiyatik
So do not make my share of Your mercy only what You have hastened for me of Your well-being

فَأَكُونَ قَدْ شَقِيتُ بِمَا أَحْبَبْتُ وَ سَعِدَ غَيْرِيْ بِمَا كَرِهْتُ
fa-akūna qad shaqītu bimā aḥbabtu wa sa`ida ghayrī bimā kariht
For I would then be wretched with what I love, while others are blessed with what I dislike

وَإِنْ يَكُنْ مَا ظَلِلْتُ فِيهِ أَوْ بِتُّ فِيهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْعَافِيَةِ
wa-in yakun mā ẓalitu fīhi aw bittu fīhi min hadhihil `āfiyah
And if what I have remained in or spent the night in of this well-being

بَيْنَ يَدَيْ بَلَاءٍ لَا يَنْقَطِعُ، وَوِزْرٍ لَا يَرْتَفِعُ
bayna yaday balā-in lā yanqaṭi`, wawizrin lā yar-tafi`
Is before a trial that does not end, and a burden that does not lift
7
فَقَدِّمْ لِيْ مَا أَخَّرْتَ وَأَخِّرْ عَنِّيْ مَا قَدَّمْتَ
faqaddim lī mā akhhar-ta wa-akhhir `annī mā qaddamt
Then bring forward for me what You have delayed, and delay from me what You have hastened

فَغَيْرُ كَثِيرٍ مَا عَاقِبَتُهُ الْفَنَاءُ
faghayru kathīrin mā `āqibatuhul fanā
For not much is that which ends in extinction
9
وَغَيْرُ قَلِيلٍ مَا عَاقِبَتُهُ الْبَقَاءُ
waghayru qalīlin mā `āqibatuhul baqā
And not little is that which ends in eternity
10
وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
waṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
And send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
