بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تَشَأْ تَعْفُ عَنَّا فَبِفَضْلِكَ
allāhumma in tasha-ta`fu `annā fabifaḍlik
O Allah, if You wish to pardon us, it is by Your grace
2
وَإِنْ تَشَأْ تُعَذِّبْنَا فَبِعَدْلِكَ فَسَهِّلْ لَنَا عَفْوَكَ بِمَنِّكَ
wa-in tasha-tu`adhhibnā fabi`adlika fasahhil lanā `afwaka bimannik
And if You wish to punish us, it is by Your justice, so make Your pardon easy for us by Your favor
3
وَأَجِرْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ بِتَجَاوُزِكَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِعَدْلِكَ
wa-ajir-nā min `adhābika bitajāwuzika fa-innahu lā ṭāqata lanā bi`adlik
And protect us from Your punishment by Your forbearance, for we have no strength to bear Your justice
4
وَلَا نَجَاةَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَّا دُوْنَ عَفْوِكَ
walā najāta li-aḥadin minnā dūna `afwik
And there is no salvation for any of us without Your pardon
5
يَا غَنِيَّ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ هَا نَحْنُ عِبَادُكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
yā ghaniyyal aghniyā-i hā naḥnu `ibāduka bayna yadayk
O Most Wealthy of the wealthy, here we are, Your servants, before You
6
وَأَنَا أَفْقَرُ الْفُقَرَاءِ إِلَيْكَ فَاجْبُرْ فَاقَتَنَا بِوُسْعِكَ
wa-ana afqarul fuqarā-i ilayka fajbur fāqatanā biwus`ik
And I am the poorest of the poor before You, so remedy our poverty by Your abundance
7
وَلَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَاءَنَا بِمَنْعِكَ فَتَكُونَ قَدْ أَشْقَيْتَ مَنِ اسْتَسْعَدَ بِكَ
walā taqṭa` rajā-anā biman`ika fatakūna qad ashqayta manistas`ada bik
And do not cut off our hope by Your refusal, for then You would have made wretched those who sought happiness through You
8
وَحَرَمْتَ مَنِ اسْتَرْفَدَ فَضْلَكَ
waḥaramta manistar-fada faḍlak
And deprived those who sought Your bounty
9
فَإِلَى مَنْ حِيْنَئِذٍ مُنْقَلَبُنَا عَنْكَ
fa-ilā man ḥīna-idhin munqalabunā `ank
Then to whom would we turn away from You?
10
وَإِلَى أَيْنَ مَذْهَبُنَا عَنْ بَابِكَ
wa-ilā ayna madh-habunā `an bābik
And where would we go away from Your door?
11
سُبْحَانَكَ نَحْنُ الْمُضْطَرُّونَ الَّذِيْنَ أَوْجَبْتَ إِجَابَتَهُمْ
subḥānaka naḥnul muḍṭarrūnal ladhīna awjabta ijābatahum
Glory be to You! We are the distressed ones whose prayers You have promised to answer
12
وَأَهْلُ السُّوءِ الَّذِيْنَ وَعَدْتَ الْكَشْفَ عَنْهُمْ
wa-ahlus sū-il ladhīna wa`adtal kashfa `anhum
And the people in adversity from whom You have promised to remove harm
13
وَأَشْبَهُ الْأَشْيَاءِ بِمَشِيَّتِكَ
wa-ashbahul ashyā-i bimashiyyatik
And the most fitting of things with Your will
14
وَأَوْلَى الْأُمُورِ بِكَ فِيْ عَظَمَتِكَ رَحْمَةُ مَنِ اسْتَرْحَمَكَ
wa-awlal umūri bika fī `aẓamatika raḥmatu manistar-ḥamak
And the most worthy affairs for You in Your greatness is to show mercy to one who asks for Your mercy
15
وَغَوْثُ مَنِ اسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ، فَارْحَمْ تَضَرُّعَنَا إِلَيْكَ
waghawthu manistaghātha bik, far-ḥam taḍarru`anā ilayk
And to help one who seeks Your help. So have mercy on our imploring You
16
وَأَغْنِنَا إِذْ طَرَحْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
wa-aghninā idh ṭaraḥnā anfusanā bayna yadayk
And free us from need when we have thrown ourselves before You
17
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ شَمِتَ بِنَا إِذْ شَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ
allāhumma innash shayṭāna qad shamita binā idh shāya`nāhu `alā ma`ṣiyatik
O Allah, Satan has rejoiced at our following him in disobeying You
18
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
So send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
19
وَلَا تُشْمِتْهُ بِنَا بَعْدَ تَرْكِنَا إِيَّاهُ لَكَ
walā tushmit-hu binā ba`da tar-kinā iyyāhu lak
And do not let him rejoice at us after we have abandoned him for You
20
وَرَغْبَتِنَا عَنْهُ إِلَيْكَ
waraghbatinā `anhu ilayk
And turned away from him towards You
