بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَاإِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
shahidallāhu annahu la-ilāha illā huw
Allah bears witness that there is no god except Him
2
وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأُوْلُوْ الْعِلْمِ
walmalā-ikatu wa-ūlul `ilm
And the angels and those who possess knowledge
3
قَائِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ
qā-iman bil qisṭ
Maintaining justice
4
لَاإِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
la-ilāha illā huwal `azīzul ḥakīm
There is no god except Him, the Mighty, the Wise
5
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلاَمُ
innad dīna `indallāhil islām
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
6
وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ الضَّعِيفُ الْمُذْنِبُ
wa-anal `abduḍ ḍa`īful mudhnib
And I am the weak, sinful servant
7
اَلْعَاصِيْ الْمُحْتَاجُ الْحَقِيرُ
al `āṣil muḥtājul ḥaqīr
The disobedient, the needy, the humble
8
أَشْهَدُ لِمُنْعِمِيْ وَخَالِقِيْ
ash-hadu limun`imī wakhāliqī
I bear witness to my Benefactor and my Creator
9
وَرَازِقِيْ وَمُكْرِمِيْ
warāziqī wamukrimī
And my Provider and my Honorer
10
كَمَا شَهِدَ لِذَاتِهِ
kamā shahida lidhātih
As He bore witness to Himself
11
وَشَهِدَتْ لَهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ
washahidat lahul malā-ikah
And the angels bore witness to Him
12
وَأُولُوْا الْعِلْمِ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ
wa-ūlul `ilmi min `ibādih
And those endowed with knowledge among His servants
13
بِأَنَّهُ لَاإِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
bi-annahu la-ilāha illā huw
That there is no god except Him
14
ذُوْ النِّعَمِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ
dhun ni`ami wal-iḥsān
The Possessor of blessings and benevolence
15
وَالْكَرَمِ وَالْإِمْتِنَانِ
walkarami wal-imtinān
And generosity and favor
16
قَادِرٌ أَزَلِيٌّ
qādirun azaliyy
All-Powerful, Eternal
17
عَالِمٌ أَبَدِيٌّ
`ālimun abadiyy
All-Knowing, Everlasting
18
حَيٌّ أَحَدِيٌّ
ḥayyun aḥadiyy
Living, One
19
مَوْجُودٌ سَرْمَدِيٌّ
mawjūdun sar-madiyy
Existent, Perpetual
20
سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ
samī`un baṣīr
All-Hearing, All-Seeing
21
مُرِيدٌ كَارِهٌ
murīdun kārih
Willing, Averse
22
مُدْرِكٌ صَمَدِيٌّ
mudrikun ṣamadiyy
Perceiving, Independent
23
يَسْتَحِقُّ هَذِهِ الصِّفَاتِ
yastaḥiqqu hadhihiṣ ṣifāt
He deserves these attributes
24
وَهُوَ عَلٰى مَا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ فِيْ عِزِّ صِفَاتِهِ
wahuwa `alā mā huwa `alayhi fī `izzi ṣifātih
And He is as He is in the glory of His attributes
25
كَانَ قَوِيًّا قَبْلَ وُجُودِ الْقُدْرَةِ وَالْقُوَّةِ
kāna qawiyyan qabla wujūdil qudrati walquwwah
He was Strong before the existence of power and strength
26
وَكَانَ عَلِيمًا قَبْلَ إِيجَادِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعِلَّةِ
wakāna `alīman qabla ījādil `ilmi wal`illah
And He was All-Knowing before the creation of knowledge and reason
27
لَمْ يَزَلْ سُلْطَانًا إِذْ لَامَمْلَكَةَ وَلَا مَالَ
lam yazal sulṭānan idh lāmamlakata walā māl
He has always been Sovereign when there was no kingdom and no wealth
28
وَلَمْ يَزَلْ سُبْحَانًا عَلَى جَمِيْعِ الْأَحْوَالِ
walam yazal subḥānan `alā jamī`il aḥwāl
And He has always been Glorified in all conditions
29
وُجُودُهُ قَبْلَ الْقَبْلِ فِيْ أَزَلِ الْآزَالِ
wujūduhu qablal qabli fī azalil-āzāl
His existence was before the "before" in the eternity of eternities
30
وَبَقَاؤُهُ بَعْدَ الْبَعْدِ مِنْ غَيْرِ انْتِقَالٍ وَلَا زَوَالٍ
wabaqa-uhu ba`dal ba`di min ghayrintiqālin walā zawāl
And His permanence is after the "after" without transition or cessation
31
غَنِيٌّ فِيْ الْأَوَّلِ وَالْآخِرِ
ghaniyyun fil awwali wal-ākhir
Self-sufficient in the First and the Last
32
مُسْتَغْنٍ فِيْ الْبَاطِنِ وَالظَّاهِرِ
mustaghnin fil bāṭini waẓ ẓāhir
Independent in the Hidden and the Manifest
33
لَاجَوْرَ فِيْ قَضِيَّتِهِ
lājawra fī qaḍiyyatih
There is no injustice in His decree
34
وَلَا مَيْلَ فِيْ مَشِيئَتِهِ
walā mayla fī mashī-atih
And no bias in His will
35
وَلَا ظُلْمَ فِيْ تَقْدِيرِهِ
walā ẓulma fī taqdīrih
And no oppression in His determination
36
وَلَا مَهْرَبَ مِنْ حُكُومَتِهِ
walā mahraba min ḥukūmatih
And no escape from His authority
37
وَلَا مَلْجَأَ مِنْ سَطَوَاتِهِ
walā malja-a min saṭawātih
And no refuge from His power
38
وَلَا مَنْجٰا مِنْ نَقِمَاتِهِ
walā manjā min naqimātih
And no salvation from His vengeance
39
سَبَقَتْ رَحْمَتُهُ غَضَبَهُ
sabaqat raḥmatuhu ghaḍabah
His mercy precedes His anger
40
وَلَا يَفُوتُهُ أَحَدٌ إِذَا طَلَبَهُ
walā yafūtuhu aḥadun idhā ṭalabah
And no one can escape Him when He seeks them
41
أَزَاحَ الْعِلَلَ فِيْ التَّكْلِيفِ
azāḥal `ilala fit taklīf
He has removed the excuses in obligation
42
وَسَوَّى التَّوْفِيقَ بَيْنَ الضَّعِيفِ وَالشَّرِيفِ
wasawwat tawfīqa baynaḍ ḍa`īfi wash sharīf
And made success equal between the weak and the noble
43
مَكَّنَ أَدَاءَ الْمَأْمُورِ
makkana adā-al ma-mūr
He has enabled the fulfillment of what is commanded
44
وَسَهَّلَ سَبِيلَ اجْتِنَابِ الْمَحْظُورِ
wasahhala sabīlajtinābil maḥẓūr
And made easy the path to avoid what is forbidden
45
لَمْ يُكَلِّفِ الطَّاعَةَ إِلَّا دُوْنَ الْوُسْعِ وَالطَّاقَةِ
lam yukallifiṭ ṭā`ata illā dūnal wus`i waṭ ṭāqah
He has not obligated obedience except within capacity and ability
46
سُبْحَانَهُ مَا أَبْيَنَ كَرَمَهُ
subḥānahu mā abyana karamah
Glory be to Him, how evident is His generosity
47
وَأَعْلَى شَأْنَهُ
wa-a`lā sha-nah
And how exalted is His status
48
سُبْحَانَهُ مَا أَجَلَّ نَيْلَهُ
subḥānahu mā ajalla naylah
Glory be to Him, how majestic is His bounty
49
وَأَعْظَمَ إِحْسَانَهُ
wa-a`ẓama iḥsānah
And how great is His benevolence
50
بَعَثَ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ لِيُبَيِّنَ عَدْلَهُ
ba`athal anbiyā-a liyubayyina `adlah
He sent the Prophets to demonstrate His justice
51
وَنَصَبَ الْأَوْصِيَاءَ لِيُظْهِرَ طَوْلَهُ وَفَضْلَهُ
wanaṣabal awṣiyā-a liyuẓhira ṭawlahu wafaḍlah
And appointed the Successors to manifest His power and grace
52
وَجَعَلَنَا مِنْ أُمَّةِ سَيِّدِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ
waja`alanā min ummati sayyidil anbiyā
And made us from the nation of the Master of Prophets
53
وَخَيْرِ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ
wakhayril awliyā
And the best of guardians
54
وَأَفْضَلِ الْأَصْفِيَاءِ
wa-afḍalil aṣfiyā
And the most excellent of the chosen ones
55
وَأَعْلَى الْأَزْكِيَاءِ
wa-a`lal azkiyā
And the highest of the pure ones
56
مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
muḥammadin ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa-ālihi wasallam
Muhammad, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him and his family
57
آمَنَّا بِهِ وَبِمَا دَعَانَا إِلَيْهِ
āmannā bihi wabimā da`ānā ilayh
We believe in him and in what he called us to
58
وَبِالْقُرْآنِ الَّذِيْ أَنْزَلَهُ عَلَيْهِ
wabil qur-ānil ladhī anzalahu `alayh
And in the Quran which was revealed to him
59
وَبِوَصِيِّهِ الَّذِيْ نَصَبَهُ يَوْمَ الْغَدِيرِ
wabiwaṣiyyihil ladhī naṣabahu yawmal ghadīr
And in his successor whom he appointed on the day of Ghadeer
60
وَأَشَارَ بِقَوْلِهِ: هٰذَا عَلِيٌّ إِلَيْهِ
wa-ashāra biqawlihi: hādhā `aliyyun ilayh
And indicated by saying: "This is Ali" to him
61
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ الْأَبْرَارَ
wa-ash-hadu annal a-immatal abrār
And I bear witness that the righteous Imams
62
وَالْخُلَفَاءَ الْأَخْيَارَ
walkhulafā-al akhyār
And the virtuous successors
63
بَعْدَ الرَّسُولِ الْمُخْتَارِ
ba`dar rasūlil mukhtār
After the chosen Messenger
64
عَلِيٌّ قَامِعُ الْكُفَّارِ
`aliyyun qāmi`ul kuffār
Ali, the subduer of disbelievers
65
وَمِنْ بَعْدِهِ سَيِّدُ أَوْلاَدِهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ
wamin ba`dihi sayyidu awlādihil ḥasanubnu `aliyy
And after him the master of his children, Al-Hasan son of Ali
66
ثُمَّ أَخُوهُ السِّبْطُ التَّابِعُ لِمَرْضَاةِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ
thumma akhūhus sibṭut tābi`u limar-ḍātillāhil ḥusayn
Then his brother, the grandson who followed Allah's pleasure, Al-Husayn
67
ثُمَّ الْعَابِدُ عَلِيٌّ
thummal `ābidu `aliyy
Then the worshipper Ali
68
ثُمَّ الْبَاقِرُ مُحَمَّدٌ
thummal bāqiru muḥammad
Then the explorer of knowledge Muhammad
69
ثُمَّ الصَّادِقُ جَعْفَرٌ
thummaṣ ṣādiqu ja`far
Then the truthful Ja'far
70
ثُمَّ الْكَاظِمُ مُوسٰى
thummal kāẓimu mūsā
Then the restrainer of anger Musa
71
ثُمَّ الرِّضَا عَلِيٌّ
thummar riḍā `aliyy
Then the pleasing Ali
72
ثُمَّ التَّقِيُّ مُحَمَّدٌ
thummat taqiyyu muḥammad
Then the pious Muhammad
73
ثُمَّ النَّقِيُّ عَلِيٌّ
thumman naqiyyu `aliyy
Then the pure Ali
74
ثُمَّ الزَّكِيُّ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ الْحَسَنُ
thummaz zakiyyul `askariyyul ḥasan
Then the virtuous, the military leader Al-Hasan
75
ثُمَّ الْحُجَّةُ الْخَلَفُ الْقَائِمُ
thummal ḥujjatul khalaful qā-im
Then the proof, the successor, the one who will rise
76
اَلْمُنْتَظَرُ الْمَهْدِيُّ الْمُرْجَى
al muntaẓarul mahdiyyul mur-jā
The awaited Mahdi, the hoped for
77
اَلَّذِيْ بِبَقَائِهِ بَقِيَتِ الدُّنْيَا
al ladhī bibaqā-ihi baqiyatid dunyā
Through whose remaining the world remains
78
وَبِيُمْنِهِ رُزِقَ الْوَرىٰ
wabiyumnihi ruziqal warā
And by whose blessing creation is sustained
79
وَبِوُجُودِهِ ثَبَتَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالسَّمَاءُ
wabiwujūdihi thabatatil ar-ḍu was samā
And by whose existence the earth and sky stand firm
80
وَبِهِ يَمْلَأُ اللَّهُ الْأَرْضَ قِسْطًا وَعَدْلًا
wabihi yamla-ullāhul ar-ḍa qisṭan wa`adlā
And through him Allah will fill the earth with equity and justice
81
بَعْدَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْمًا وَجَوْرًا
ba`damā muli-at ẓulman wajawrā
After it has been filled with oppression and tyranny
82
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ أَقْوَالَهُمْ حُجَّةٌ
wa-ash-hadu anna aqwālahum ḥujjah
And I bear witness that their words are authoritative
83
وَامْتِثَالَهُمْ فَرِيضَةٌ
wamtithālahum farīḍah
And following them is obligatory
84
وَطَاعَتَهُمْ مَفْرُوضَةٌ
waṭā`atahum mafrūḍah
And obeying them is required
85
وَمَوَدَّتَهُمْ لاَزِمَةٌ مَقْضِيَّةٌ
wamawaddatahum lāzimatun maqḍiyyah
And loving them is necessary and decreed
86
وَالْإِقْتِدَاءَ بِهِمْ مُنْجِيَةٌ
walaqtidā-a bihim munjiyah
And being guided by them leads to salvation
87
وَمُخَالَفَتَهُمْ مُرْدِيَةٌ
wamukhālafatahum mur-diyah
And opposing them leads to destruction
88
وَهُمْ سَادَاتُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ أَجْمَعِينَ
wahum sādātu ahlil jannati ajma`īn
And they are the masters of the people of Paradise, all of them
89
وَشُفَعَاءُ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
washufa`ā-u yawmid dīn
And the intercessors on the Day of Judgment
90
وَأَئِمَّةُ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ عَلَى الْيَقِينِ
wa-a-immatu ahlil ar-ḍi `alal yaqīn
And the Imams of the people of the earth with certainty
91
وَأَفْضَلُ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ الْمَرْضِيِّينَ
wa-afḍalul awṣiyā-il mar-ḍiyyīn
And the most excellent of the pleasing successors
92
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ
wa-ash-hadu annal mawta ḥaqq
And I bear witness that death is truth
93
وَمُسَاءَلَةَ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ
wamusā-alatal qabri ḥaqq
And the questioning in the grave is truth
94
وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌّ
walba`tha ḥaqq
And resurrection is truth
95
وَالنُّشُورَ حَقٌّ
wan nushūra ḥaqq
And the dispersal is truth
96
وَالصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ
waṣ ṣirāṭa ḥaqq
And the path is truth
97
وَالْمِيزَانَ حَقٌّ
walmīzāna ḥaqq
And the scale is truth
98
وَالْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ
walḥisāba ḥaqq
And the reckoning is truth
99
وَالْكِتَابَ حَقٌّ
walkitāba ḥaqq
And the book is truth
100
وَالْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ
waljannata ḥaqq
And Paradise is truth
101
وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ
wan nāra ḥaqq
And Hellfire is truth
102
وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لَارَيْبَ فِيهَا
wa-annas sā`ata-ātiyatun lārayba fīhā
And that the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it
103
وَأَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِيْ الْقُبُورِ
wa-annallāha yab`athu man fil qubūr
And that Allah will resurrect those in the graves
104
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَضْلُكَ رَجَائِيْ
allāhumma faḍluka rajā-ī
O Allah, Your grace is my hope
105
وَكَرَمُكَ وَرَحْمَتُكَ أَمَلِيْ
wakaramuka waraḥmatuka amalī
And Your generosity and mercy are my aspiration
106
لَاعَمَلَ لِيْ أَسْتَحِقُّ بِهِ الْجَنَّةَ
lā`amala lī astaḥiqqu bihil jannah
I have no deed by which I deserve Paradise
107
وَلَا طَاعَةَ لِيْ أَسْتَوْجِبُ بِهَا الرِّضْوَانَ
walā ṭā`ata lī astawjibu bihar riḍwān
And no obedience by which I merit Your pleasure
108
إِلَّا أَنِّيْ اَعْتَقَدْتُ تَوْحِيدَكَ وَعَدْلَكَ
illā annī a`taqadtu tawḥīdaka wa`adlak
Except that I have believed in Your oneness and justice
109
وَارْتَجَيْتُ إِحْسَانَكَ وَفَضْلَكَ
war-tajaytu iḥsānaka wafaḍlak
And hoped for Your goodness and grace
110
وَتَشَفَّعْتُ إِلَيْكَ بِالنَّبِيِّ وَ آلِهِ مِنْ أَحِبَّتِكَ
watashaffa`tu ilayka binnabiyyi wa ālihi min aḥibbatik
And sought intercession with You through the Prophet and his family from among Your beloved ones
111
وَأَنْتَ أَكْرَمُ الْأَكْرَمِيْنَ
wa-anta akramul akramīn
And You are the Most Generous of the generous
112
وَأَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
wa-ar-ḥamur rāḥimīn
And the Most Merciful of the merciful
113
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ
waṣallallāhu `alā nabiyyinā muḥammad
And may Allah's blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad
114
وَ آلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ
wa ālihi ajma`īn
And all his family
115
اَلطَّيِّبِيْنَ الطَّاهِرِينَ
aṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīn
The good and the pure
116
وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا كَثِيرًا كَثِيرًا
wasallama taslīman kathīran kathīrā
And abundant, abundant peace
117
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
walā ḥawla walā quwwata illā billāhil `aliyyil `aẓīm
And there is no power or might except with Allah, the High, the Great
118
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
allāhumma yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Allah, O Most Merciful of the merciful
119
إِنِّيْ أَوْدَعْتُكَ يَقِينِيْ هٰذَا وَثَبَاتَ دِينِي
innī awda`tuka yaqīnī hādhā wathabāta dīnī
I entrust to You this certainty of mine and the firmness of my religion
120
وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ مُسْتَوْدَعٍ
wa-anta khayru mustawda`
And You are the best trustee
121
وَقَدْ أَمَرْتَنَا بِحِفْظِ الْوَدَائِعِ
waqad amar-tanā biḥifẓil wadā-i`
And You have commanded us to preserve trusts
122
فَرُدَّهُ عَلَيَّ وَقْتَ حُضُورِ مَوْتِيْ
faruddahu `alayya waqta ḥuḍūri mawtī
So return it to me at the time of my death
123
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
124
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَدِيلَةِ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ
allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika minal `adīlati `indal mawt
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from deviation at death
