بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَللَّهُمَّ مَنْ تَعَبَّا وَتَهَيَّا
allāhumma man ta`abbā watahayyā
O Allah, whoever prepares and readies himself
2
وَاعَدَّ وَاسْتَعَدَّ
wā`adda wasta`add
And makes arrangements and preparations
3
لِوِفَادَةٍ إِلَى مَخْلُوقٍ
liwifādatin ilā makhlūq
To visit a created being
4
رَجَاءَ رِفْدِهِ
rajā-a rifdih
Hoping for his gifts
5
وَطَلَبَ نَائِلِهِ وَجَائِزَتِهِ
waṭalaba nā-ilihi wajā-izatih
And seeking his offerings and rewards
6
فَإِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ تَعْبِيَتِيْ وَاسْتِعْدَادِي
fa-ilayka yā rabbi ta`biyatī wasti`dādī
Then to You, O Lord, is my preparation and readiness
7
رَجَاءَ عَفْوِكَ
rajā-a `afwik
Hoping for Your forgiveness
8
وَطَلَبَ نَائِلِكَ وَجَائِزَتِكَ
waṭalaba nā-ilika wajā-izatik
And seeking Your gifts and rewards
9
فَلَا تُخَيِّبْ دُعَائِيْ
falā tukhayyib du`ā-ī
So do not disappoint my supplication
10
يَا مَنْ لَا يَخِيبُ عَلَيْهِ سَائِلٌ
yā man lā yakhību `alayhi sā-il
O You from whom no petitioner is disappointed
11
وَلَا يَنْقُصُهُ نَائِلٌ
walā yanquṣuhu nā-il
And whom no bestowment diminishes
12
فَإِنِّيْ لَمْ آتِكَ ثِقَةً بِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ عَمِلْتُهُ
fa-innī lam-ātika thiqatan bi`amalin ṣāliḥin `amiltuh
For I have not come to You with confidence in any good deed I have done
13
وَلَا لِوِفَادَةِ مَخْلُوقٍ رَجَوْتُهُ
walā liwifādati makhlūqin rajawtuh
Nor for the visitation of any created being I have hoped for
14
اَتَيْتُكَ مُقِرًّا عَلَى نَفْسِيْ بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَالظُّلْمِ
ataytuka muqirran `alā nafsī bil isā-ati waẓ ẓulm
I come to You acknowledging my wrongdoing and injustice
15
مُعْتَرِفًا بِانْ لَا حُجَّةَ لِيْ وَلَا عُذْرَ
mu`tarifan bin lā ḥujjata lī walā `udhr
Confessing that I have no argument or excuse
16
اَتَيْتُكَ ارْجُوْ عَظِيمَ عَفْوِكَ
ataytukar-jū `aẓīma `afwik
I come to You hoping for Your great forgiveness
17
اَلَّذِيْ عَفَوْتَ بِهِ عَنِ الْخَاطِئِيْنَ
al ladhī `afawta bihi `anil khāṭi-īn
By which You have forgiven the sinners
18
فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ طُولُ عُكُوفِهِمْ عَلَى عَظِيمِ الْجُرْمِ
falam yamna`ka ṭūlu `ukūfihim `alā `aẓīmil jur-m
For their persistent commitment to great sins did not prevent You
19
اِنْ عُدْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالرَّحْمَةِ
in `udta `alayhim birraḥmah
From bestowing mercy upon them
20
فَيَا مَنْ رَحْمَتُهُ وَاسِعَةٌ
fayā man raḥmatuhu wāsi`ah
So, O One whose mercy is vast
21
وَعَفْوُهُ عَظيمٌ
wa`afwuhu `aẓim
And whose forgiveness is great
22
يَا عَظيـمُ يَا عَظيـمُ يَا عَظيـمُ
yā `aẓimu yā `aẓimu yā `aẓim
O Great One, O Great One, O Great One
23
لَا يَرُدُّ غَضَبَكَ إِلَّا حِلْمُكَ
lā yaruddu ghaḍabaka illā ḥilmuk
Nothing repels Your anger except Your forbearance
24
وَلَا يُنْجِيْ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ إِلَّا التَّضَرُّعُ إِلَيْكَ
walā yunjī min sakhaṭika illat taḍarru`u ilayk
And nothing saves from Your wrath except beseeching You
25
فَهَبْ لِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ فَرَجًا
fahab lī yā ilāhī farajā
So grant me, O my God, relief
26
بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَّتِيْ تُحْيِيْ بِهَا مَيْتَ الْبِلاَدِ
bil qudratil latī tuḥyī bihā maytal bilād
By the power with which You revive dead lands
27
وَلَا تُهْلِكْنِيْ غَمًّا حَتَّى تَسْتَجِيبَ لِي
walā tuhliknī ghamman ḥattā tastajība lī
And do not let me perish in grief until You answer me
28
وَتُعَرِّفَنِيْ الْاِجَابَةَ فِيْ دُعَائِي
watu`arrifanil ijābata fī du`ā-ī
And make known to me the response to my supplication
29
وَ اَذِقْنِيْ طَعْمَ الْعَافِيَةِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى اَجَلِي
wa adhiqnī ṭa`mal `āfiyati ilā muntahā ajalī
And let me taste the flavor of well-being until the end of my life
30
وَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيْ عَدُوِّي
walā tushmit bī `aduwwī
And do not let my enemy rejoice at my misfortune
31
وَلَا تُسَلِّطْهُ عَلَيَّ
walā tusalliṭ-hu `alayy
And do not give him power over me
32
وَلَا تُمَكِّنْهُ مِنْ عُنُقِي
walā tumakkinhu min `unuqī
And do not enable him to seize me by the neck
33
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ وَضَعْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَرْفَعُنِي
allāhumma in waḍa`tanī faman dhal ladhī yar-fa`unī
O Allah, if You bring me low, who is there to raise me up?
34
وَإِنْ رَفَعْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَضَعُنِي
wa-in rafa`tanī faman dhal ladhī yaḍa`unī
And if You raise me up, who is there to bring me low?
35
وَإِنْ اَهْلَكْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَعْرِضُ لَكَ فِيْ عَبْدِكَ
wa-in ahlaktanī faman dhal ladhī ya`riḍu laka fī `abdik
And if You destroy me, who is there to intercede with You for Your servant
36
اَوْ يَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ امْرِهِ
aw yas-aluka `anmrih
Or ask You about his affair?
37
وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ اَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِيْ حُكْمِكَ ظُلْمٌ
waqad `alimtu annahu laysa fī ḥukmika ẓulm
I know that there is no injustice in Your judgment
38
وَلَا فِيْ نَقَمَتِكَ عَجَلَةٌ
walā fī naqamatika `ajalah
And no haste in Your vengeance
39
وَإِنَّمَا يَعْجَلُ مَنْ يَخَافُ الْفَوْتَ
wa-innamā ya`jalu man yakhāful fawt
Only he who fears missing an opportunity hastens
40
وَإِنَّمَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى الظُّلْمِ الضَّعِيفُ
wa-innamā yaḥtāju ilaẓ ẓulmiḍ ḍa`īf
And only the weak need to resort to injustice
41
وَقَدْ تَعَالَيْتَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ عَنْ ذٰلِكَ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا
waqad ta`ālayta yā ilāhī `an dhālika `uluwwan kabīrā
But You, O my God, are far above all that, most high indeed
42
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ فَأَعِذْنِي
allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika fa-a`idhnī
O Allah, I seek refuge in You, so protect me
43
وَاسْتَجيرُ بِكَ فَأَجِرْنِي
wastajiru bika fa-ajir-nī
And I seek Your shelter, so shelter me
44
وَاسْتَرْزِقُكَ فَأَرْزُقْنِي
wastar-ziquka fa-ar-zuqnī
And I ask You for sustenance, so provide for me
45
وَ اَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ فَاكْفِنِي
wa atawakkalu `alayka fakfinī
And I rely on You, so suffice me
46
وَاسْتَنْصِرُكَ عَلَى عَدُوِّيْ فَانْصُرْنِي
wastanṣiruka `alā `aduwwī fanṣur-nī
And I seek Your help against my enemy, so grant me victory
47
وَاسْتَعِينُ بِكَ فَأَعِنِّي
wasta`īnu bika fa-a`innī
And I seek Your assistance, so assist me
48
وَاسْتَغْفِرُكَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِي
wastaghfiruka yā ilāhī faghfir lī
And I seek Your forgiveness, O my God, so forgive me
49
آمِيْنَ آمِيْنَ آمِيْنَ
āmīna-āmīna-āmīn
Amen, Amen, Amen
