اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ آدَمَ خَلِيفَةِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha-ādama khalīfatillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the vicegerent of Allah
2
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوحٍ صَفْوَةِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha nūḥin ṣafwatillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah, the chosen one of Allah
3
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha ibrāhīma khalīlillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham, the friend of Allah
4
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُوسٰى كَلِيمِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha mūsā kalīmillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses, the one who spoke with Allah
5
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيسٰى رُوحِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha `īsā rūḥillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus, the spirit of Allah
6
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ سَيِّدِ رُسُلِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha muḥammadin sayyidi rusulillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the master of the messengers of Allah
7
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayka yā amīral mu-minīn
Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful
8
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا إِمَامَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
as salāmu `alayka yā imāmal muttaqīn
Peace be upon you, O leader of the pious
9
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدَ الْوَصِيِّينَ
as salāmu `alayka yā sayyidal waṣiyyīn
Peace be upon you, O master of the successors
10
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَصِيَّ رَسُولِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayka yā waṣiyya rasūli rabbil `ālamīn
Peace be upon you, O successor of the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds
11
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِلْمِ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha `ilmil awwalīna wal-ākhirīn
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the knowledge of the first and the last
12
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبَأُ الْعَظِيمُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhan naba-ul `aẓīm
Peace be upon you, O great news
13
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الصِّرَاطُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhaṣ ṣirāṭul mustaqīm
Peace be upon you, O straight path
14
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُهَذَّبُ الْكَرِيمُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal muhadhhabul karīm
Peace be upon you, O noble purified one
15
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْوَصِيُّ التَّقِيُّ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal waṣiyyut taqiyy
Peace be upon you, O pious successor
16
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhar raḍiyyuz zakiyy
Peace be upon you, O the one who is pleasing and pure
17
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْبَدْرُ الْمُضِيءُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal badrul muḍī
Peace be upon you, O shining full moon
18
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيقُ الْأَكْبَرُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhaṣ ṣiddīqul akbar
Peace be upon you, O greatest truthful one
19
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْفَارُوقُ الْأَعْظَمُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal fārūqul a`ẓam
Peace be upon you, O greatest distinguisher between truth and falsehood
20
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا السِّرَاجُ الْمُنِيرُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhas sirājul munīr
Peace be upon you, O illuminating lamp
21
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا إِمَامَ الْهُدىٰ
as salāmu `alayka yā imāmal hudā
Peace be upon you, O Imam of guidance
22
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلَمَ التُّقٰى
as salāmu `alayka yā `alamat tuqā
Peace be upon you, O banner of piety
23
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ الْكُبْرىٰ
as salāmu `alayka yā ḥujjatallāhil kubrā
Peace be upon you, O greatest proof of Allah
24
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاصَّةَ اللَّهِ وَخَالِصَتَهُ
as salāmu `alayka yā khāṣṣatallāhi wakhāliṣatah
Peace be upon you, O special and pure one of Allah
25
وَأَمِيْنَ اللَّهِ وَصَفْوَتَهُ
wa-amīnallāhi waṣafwatah
And trustee of Allah and His chosen one
26
وَبَابَ اللَّهِ وَحُجَّتَهُ
wabāballāhi waḥujjatah
And the door to Allah and His proof
27
وَمَعْدِنَ حُكْمِ اللَّهِ وَسِرِّهِ
wama`dina ḥukmillāhi wasirrih
And the mine of Allah's wisdom and His secrets
28
وَعَيْبَةَ عِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَخَازِنَهُ
wa`aybata `ilmillāhi wakhāzinah
And the vessel of Allah's knowledge and its keeper
29
وَسَفِيرَ اللَّهِ فِيْ خَلْقِهِ
wasafīrallāhi fī khalqih
And the ambassador of Allah among His creation
30
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَقَمْتَ الصَّلاةَ
ash-hadu annaka aqamtaṣ ṣalāh
I bear witness that you established prayer
31
وَ آتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ
wa ātaytaz zakāh
And gave the prescribed charity
32
وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
wa-amar-ta bil ma`rūf
And enjoined what is good
33
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ
wanahayta `anil munkar
And forbade what is evil
34
وَاتَّبَعْتَ الرَّسُولَ
wattaba`tar rasūl
And followed the Messenger
35
وَتَلَوْتَ الْكِتَابَ حَقَّ تِلاوَتِهِ
watalawtal kitāba ḥaqqa tilāwatih
And recited the Book as it should be recited
36
وَبَلَّغْتَ عَنِ اللَّهِ
waballaghta `anillāh
And conveyed the message from Allah
37
وَوَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ
wawafayta bi`ahdillāh
And fulfilled the covenant of Allah
38
وَتَمَّتْ بِكَ كَلِمَاتُ اللَّهِ
watammat bika kalimātullāh
And the words of Allah were perfected through you
39
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِيْ اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ
wajāhadta fillāhi ḥaqqa jihādih
And you strove in the way of Allah as it should be done
40
وَنَصَحْتَ لِلّٰهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
wanaṣaḥta lillāhi walirasūlihi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
And you were sincere to Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him and his family
41
وَجُدْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا
wajudta binafsika ṣābiran muḥtasibā
And you sacrificed yourself patiently and with expectation of reward
42
مُجَاهِدًا عَنْ دِينِ اللَّهِ
mujāhidan `an dīnillāh
Striving for the religion of Allah
43
مُوَقِّيًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
muwaqqiyan lirasūlillāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
Protecting the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family
44
طَالِبًا مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ
ṭāliban mā `indallāh
Seeking what is with Allah
45
رَاغِبًا فِيمَا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ
rāghiban fīmā wa`adallāh
Desiring what Allah has promised
46
وَمَضَيْتَ لِلَّذِيْ كُنْتَ عَلَيْهِ شَهِيدًا
wamaḍayta lilladhī kunta `alayhi shahīdā
And you passed away standing firm on your path as a martyr
47
وَشَاهِدًا وَمَشْهُودًا
washāhidan wamash-hūdā
A witness and one witnessed
48
فَجَزَاكَ اللَّهُ عَنْ رَسُولِهِ
fajazākallāhu `an rasūlih
May Allah reward you on behalf of His Messenger
49
وَعَنِ الْإِسْلاَمِ وَأَهْلِهِ
wa`anil islāmi wa-ahlih
And on behalf of Islam and its people
50
مِنْ صِدِّيقٍ أَفْضَلَ الْجَزَاءِ
min ṣiddīqin afḍalal jazā
With the best reward given to a truthful one
51
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ أَوَّلَ الْقَوْمِ إِسْلاَمًا
ash-hadu annaka kunta awwalal qawmi islāmā
I bear witness that you were the first among people to accept Islam
52
وَأَخْلَصَهُمْ إِيمَانًا
wa-akhlaṣahum īmānā
And the most sincere of them in faith
53
وَأَشَدَّهُمْ يَقِينًا
wa-ashaddahum yaqīnā
And the strongest of them in certainty
54
وَأَخْوَفَهُمْ لِلّٰهِ
wa-akhwafahum lillāh
And the most fearful of Allah among them
55
وَأَعْظَمَهُمْ عَنَاءً
wa-a`ẓamahum `anā-ā
And the one who suffered the most
56
وَأَحْوَطَهُمْ عَلٰى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
wa-aḥwaṭahum `alā rasūlillāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
And the most protective of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family
57
وَأَفْضَلَهُمْ مَنَاقِبَ
wa-afḍalahum manāqib
And the most virtuous of them in qualities
58
وَأَكْثَرَهُمْ سَوَابِقَ
wa-aktharahum sawābiq
And the one with the most precedence
59
وَأَرْفَعَهُمْ دَرَجَةً
wa-ar-fa`ahum darajah
And the highest of them in rank
60
وَأَشْرَفَهُمْ مَنْزِلَةً
wa-ashrafahum manzilah
And the most noble of them in status
61
وَأَكْرَمَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ
wa-akramahum `alayh
And the most honored by him
62
فَقَوِيْتَ حِيْنَ وَهَنُوْا
faqawīta ḥīna wahanū
You were strong when they were weak
63
وَلَزِمْتَ مِنْهَاجَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
walazimta minhāja rasūlillāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
And you adhered to the path of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family
64
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ خَلِيفَتَهُ حَقًّا
wa-ash-hadu annaka kunta khalīfatahu ḥaqqā
And I bear witness that you were truly his successor
65
لَمْ تُنَازَعْ بِرَغْمِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ
lam tunāza` biraghmil munāfiqīn
You were not contested, despite the resentment of the hypocrites
66
وَغَيْظِ الْكَافِرِينَ
waghayẓil kāfirīn
And the anger of the disbelievers
67
وَضِغْنِ الْفَاسِقِينَ
waḍighnil fāsiqīn
And the hatred of the transgressors
68
وَقُمْتَ بِالْأَمْرِ حِيْنَ فَشِلُوْا
waqumta bil amri ḥīna fashilū
And you stood firm in the matter when they failed
69
وَنَطَقْتَ حِيْنَ تَتَعْتَعُوْا
wanaṭaqta ḥīna tata`ta`ū
And you spoke clearly when they stammered
70
وَمَضَيْتَ بِنُوْرِ اللَّهِ إِذْ وَقَفُوْا
wamaḍayta binūrillāhi idh waqafū
And you proceeded with the light of Allah when they stopped
71
فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ فَقَدِ اهْتَدَى
famanittaba`aka faqadihtadā
Whoever followed you was guided
72
كُنْتَ أَوَّلَهُمْ كَلامًا
kunta awwalahum kalāmā
You were the first of them in speech
73
وَأَشَدَّهُمْ خِصَامًا
wa-ashaddahum khiṣāmā
And the strongest of them in argument
74
وَأَصْوَبَهُمْ مَنْطِقًا
wa-aṣwabahum manṭiqā
And the most correct of them in logic
75
وَأَسَدَّهُمْ رَأْيًا
wa-asaddahum ra-yā
And the most sound of them in opinion
76
وَأَشْجَعَهُمْ قَلْبًا
wa-ashja`ahum qalbā
And the bravest of them in heart
77
وَأَكْثَرَهُمْ يَقِينًا
wa-aktharahum yaqīnā
And the most certain of them in faith
78
وَأَحْسَنَهُمْ عَمَلًا
wa-aḥsanahum `amalā
And the best of them in deeds
79
وَأَعْرَفَهُمْ بِالْأُمُورِ
wa-a`rafahum bil umūr
And the most knowledgeable of them in matters
80
كُنْتَ لِلْمُؤمِنِيْنَ أَبًا رَحِيمًا
kunta lilmu-minīna aban raḥīmā
You were a compassionate father to the believers
81
إِذْ صَارُوْا عَلَيْكَ عِيَالًا
idh ṣārū `alayka `iyālā
When they became your dependents
82
فَحَمَلْتَ أَثْقَالَ مَا عَنْهُ ضَعُفُوْا
faḥamalta athqāla mā `anhu ḍa`ufū
You carried the burdens they were too weak to bear
83
وَحَفِظْتَ مَا أَضَاعُوْا
waḥafiẓta mā aḍā`ū
And you preserved what they neglected
84
وَرَعَيْتَ مَا أَهْمَلُوْا
wara`ayta mā ahmalū
And you looked after what they ignored
85
وَشَمَّرْتَ إِذْ جَبَنُوْا
washammar-ta idh jabanū
And you were resolute when they were cowardly
86
وَعَلَوْتَ إِذْ هَلِعُوْا
wa`alawta idh hali`ū
And you rose when they were anxious
87
وَصَبَرْتَ إِذْ جَزِعُوْا
waṣabar-ta idh jazi`ū
And you were patient when they were distressed
88
كُنْتَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابًا صَبًّا
kunta `alal kāfirīna `adhāban ṣabbā
You were for the disbelievers a pouring punishment
89
وَغِلْظَةً وَغَيْظًا
waghilẓatan waghayẓā
And harshness and rage
90
وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ غَيْثًا وَخِصْبًا وَعِلْمًا
walilmu-minīna ghaythan wakhiṣban wa`ilmā
And for the believers, rain and fertility and knowledge
91
لَمْ تُفْلَلْ حُجَّتُكَ
lam tuflal ḥujjatuk
Your proof was never defeated
92
وَلَمْ يَزِغْ قَلْبُكَ
walam yazigh qalbuk
And your heart never deviated
93
وَلَمْ تَضْعُفْ بَصِيرَتُكَ
walam taḍ`uf baṣīratuk
And your insight never weakened
94
وَلَمْ تَجْبُنْ نَفْسُكَ
walam tajbun nafsuk
And your soul never cowered
95
كُنْتَ كَالْجَبَلِ لَاتُحَرِّكُهُ الْعَوَاصِفُ
kunta kaljabali lātuḥarrikuhul `awāṣif
You were like a mountain, unmoved by storms
96
وَلَا تُزِيلُهُ الْقَوَاصِفُ
walā tuzīluhul qawāṣif
And not displaced by violent winds
97
كُنْتَ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
kunta kamā qāla rasūlullāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
You were as the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, said
98
قَوِيًّا فِيْ بَدَنِكَ
qawiyyan fī badanik
Strong in your body
99
مُتَوَاضِعًا فِيْ نَفْسِكَ
mutawāḍi`an fī nafsik
Humble in yourself
100
عَظِيمًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ
`aẓīman `indallāh
Great in the sight of Allah
101
كَبِيرًا فِيْ الْأَرْضِ
kabīran fil ar-ḍ
Esteemed on earth
102
جَلِيْلًا فِيْ السَّمَاءِ
jalīlan fis samā
Honored in heaven
103
لَمْ يَكُنْ لِأَحَدٍ فِيكَ مَهْمَزٌ
lam yakun li-aḥadin fīka mahmaz
No one could find a fault in you
104
وَلَا لِقَائِلٍ فِيكَ مَغْمَزٌ
walā liqā-ilin fīka maghmaz
No speaker could find a way to criticize you
105
وَلَا لِخَلْقٍ فِيكَ مَطْمَعٌ
walā likhalqin fīka maṭma`
No created being had any greed regarding you
106
وَلَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَكَ هَوَادَةٌ
walā li-aḥadin `indaka hawādah
And no one had any favoritism with you
107
يُوجَدُ الضَّعِيفُ الذَّلِيلُ عِنْدَكَ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا حَتَّى تَأْخُذَ لَهُ بِحَقِّهِ
yūjaduḍ ḍa`īfudh dhalīlu `indaka qawiyyan `azīzan ḥattā ta-khudha lahu biḥaqqih
The weak and humble were found strong and honored with you until you secured their rights
108
وَالْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ عِنْدَكَ ضَعِيفًا حَتَّىٰ تَأْخُذَ مِنْهُ الْحَقَّ
walqawiyyul `azīzu `indaka ḍa`īfan ḥattā ta-khudha minhul ḥaqq
And the strong and powerful were weak with you until you took the rights from them
109
اَلْقَرِيبُ وَالْبَعِيدُ عِنْدَكَ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ سَوَاءٌ
al qarību walba`īdu `indaka fī dhālika sawā
The near and far were equal to you in this regard
110
شَأْنُكَ الْحَقُّ وَالصِّدْقُ وَالرِّفْقُ
sha-nukal ḥaqqu waṣ ṣidqu war rifq
Your concern was truth, honesty, and kindness
111
وَقَوْلُكَ حُكْمٌ وَحَتْمٌ
waqawluka ḥukmun waḥatm
Your word was law and decisive
112
وَأَمْرُكَ حِلْمٌ وَعَزْمٌ
wa-amruka ḥilmun wa`azm
Your command was forbearance and determination
113
وَرَأْيُكَ عِلْمٌ وَحَزْمٌ
wara-yuka `ilmun waḥazm
Your opinion was knowledge and resolve
114
اعْتَدَلَ بِكَ الدِّينُ
`tadala bikad dīn
The religion was balanced by you
115
وَسَهُلَ بِكَ الْعَسِيرُ
wasahula bikal `asīr
And difficulties were made easy by you
116
وَأُطْفِئَتْ بِكَ النِّيرَانُ
wa-uṭfi-at bikan nīrān
And fires were extinguished by you
117
وَقَوِيَ بِكَ الْإِيمَانُ
waqawiya bikal īmān
And faith was strengthened by you
118
وَثَبَتَ بِكَ الْإِسْلاَمُ
wathabata bikal islām
And Islam was established by you
119
وَهَدَّتْ مُصِيبَتُكَ الْأَنَامَ
wahaddat muṣībatukal anām
And your tragedy crushed humanity
120
فَإِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
fa-innā lillāhi wa-innā ilayhi rāji`ūn
Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return
121
لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ
la`anallāhu man qatalak
May Allah curse whoever killed you
122
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ خَالَفَكَ
wala`anallāhu man khālafak
And may Allah curse whoever opposed you
123
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنِ افْتَرىٰ عَلَيْكَ
wala`anallāhu maniftarā `alayk
And may Allah curse whoever fabricated lies against you
124
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ وَغَصَبَكَ حَقَّكَ
wala`anallāhu man ẓalamaka waghaṣabaka ḥaqqak
And may Allah curse whoever wronged you and usurped your right
125
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ بَلَغَهُ ذٰلِكَ فَرَضِيَ بِهِ
wala`anallāhu man balaghahu dhālika faraḍiya bih
And may Allah curse whoever knew of this and was pleased with it
126
إِنَّا إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ بُرٰآءُ
innā ilallāhi minhum burā-ā
We disassociate ourselves from them before Allah
127
لَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً خَالَفَتْكَ
la`anallāhu ummatan khālafatk
May Allah curse the nation that opposed you
128
وَجَحَدَتْ وِلايَتَكَ
wajaḥadat wilāyatak
And denied your leadership
129
وَتَظَاهَرَتْ عَلَيْكَ وَقَتَلَتْكَ
wataẓāharat `alayka waqatalatk
And conspired against you and killed you
130
وَحَادَتْ عَنْكَ وَخَذَلَتْكَ
waḥādat `anka wakhadhalatk
And deviated from you and abandoned you
131
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ النَّارَ مَثْوَاهُمْ
al ḥamdu lillāhil ladhī ja`alan nāra mathwāhum
Praise be to Allah who made the Fire their abode
132
وَبِئْسَ لْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُوْدُ
wabi-salwir-dul mawrūd
And what an evil destination
133
أَشْهَدُ لَكَ يَاوَلِيَّ اللَّهِ وَوَلِيَّ رَسُوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ بِالْبَلَاغِ وَالْأَدَاءِ
ash-hadu laka yāwaliyyallāhi wawaliyya rasūlihi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālihi bil balāghi wal-adā
I bear witness to you, O friend of Allah and friend of His Messenger, peace be upon him and his family, with the delivery and fulfillment
134
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ حَبِيبُ اللَّهِ وَبَابُهُ
wa-ash-hadu annaka ḥabībullāhi wabābuh
And I bear witness that you are the beloved of Allah and His door
135
وَأَنَّكَ جَنْبُ اللَّهِ وَوَجْهُهُ الَّذِيْ مِنْهُ يُؤْتىٰ
wa-annaka janbullāhi wawajhuhul ladhī minhu yu-tā
And that you are the side of Allah and His face through which one can approach Him
136
وَأَنَّكَ سَبِيلُ اللَّهِ
wa-annaka sabīlullāh
And that you are the path of Allah
137
وَأَنَّكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ
wa-annaka `abdullāh
And that you are the servant of Allah
138
وَأَخُوْ رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
wa-akhū rasūlihi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
And the brother of His Messenger, peace be upon him and his family
139
أَتَيْتُكَ زَائِرًا لِعَظِيمِ حَالِكَ وَمَنْزِلَتِكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ رَسُولِهِ
ataytuka zā-iran li`aẓīmi ḥālika wamanzilatika `indallāhi wa`inda rasūlih
I have come to visit you because of your great status and rank with Allah and with His Messenger
140
مُتَقَرِّبًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِزِيَارَتِكَ
mutaqarriban ilallāhi biziyāratik
Seeking nearness to Allah through visiting you
141
رَاغِبًا إِلَيْكَ فِيْ الشَّفَاعَةِ
rāghiban ilayka fish shafā`ah
Desiring your intercession
142
أَبْتَغِيْ بِشَفَاعَتِكَ خَلاصَ نَفْسِي
abtaghī bishafā`atika khalāṣa nafsī
I seek through your intercession the deliverance of my soul
143
مُتَعَوِّذًا بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
muta`awwidhan bika minan nār
Taking refuge with you from the Fire
144
هَارِبًا مِنْ ذُنُوبِيَ الَّتِيْ احْتَطَبْتُهَا عَلٰى ظَهْرِي
hāriban min dhunūbiyal latiḥtaṭabtuhā `alā ẓahrī
Fleeing from my sins that I have accumulated on my back
145
فَزِعًا إِلَيْكَ رَجَاءَ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّي
fazi`an ilayka rajā-a raḥmati rabbī
Coming to you in hope of my Lord's mercy
146
أَتَيْتُكَ أَسْتَشْفِعُ بِكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ إِلَى اللَّهِ
ataytuka astashfi`u bika yā mawlāya ilallāh
I have come to you seeking your intercession, O my master, with Allah
147
وَأَتَقَرَّبُ بِكَ إِلَيْهِ لِيَقْضِيَ بِكَ حَوَائِجِي
wa-ataqarrabu bika ilayhi liyaqḍiya bika ḥawā-ijī
And seeking closeness to Him through you, so that He may fulfill my needs through you
148
فَاشْفَعْ لِيْ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
fashfa` lī yā amīral mu-minīn
So intercede for me, O Commander of the Faithful
149
فَإِنِّيْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَمَوْلاَكَ وَزَائِرُكَ
fa-innī `abdullāhi wamawlāka wazā-iruk
For I am a servant of Allah, your devotee, and your visitor
150
وَلَكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْمَقَامُ الْمَعْلُومُ
walaka `indallāhil maqāmul ma`lūm
And you have with Allah a known station
151
وَالْجَاهُ الْعَظِيمُ
waljāhul `aẓīm
And great honor
152
وَالشَّأْنُ الْكَبِيرُ
wash sha-nul kabīr
And high standing
153
وَالشَّفَاعَةُ الْمَقْبُولَةُ
wash shafā`atul maqbūlah
And accepted intercession
154
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
155
وَصَلِّ عَلٰى عَبْدِكَ وَأَمِينِكَ الْأَوْفىٰ
waṣalli `alā `abdika wa-amīnikal awfā
And bless Your servant and Your most faithful trustee
156
وَعُرْوَتِكَ الْوُثْقٰى
wa`ur-watikal wuthqā
And Your firmest handhold
157
وَيَدِكَ الْعُلْيَا
wayadikal `ulyā
And Your highest hand
158
وَكَلِمَتِكَ الْحُسْنىٰ
wakalimatikal ḥusnā
And Your most beautiful word
159
وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَى الْوَرىٰ
waḥujjatika `alal warā
And Your proof upon creation
160
وَصِدِّيقِكَ الْأَكْبَرِ
waṣiddīqikal akbar
And Your greatest truthful one
161
سَيِّدِ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ
sayyidil awṣiyā
Master of the successors
162
وَرُكْنِ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ
waruknil awliyā
And pillar of the friends
163
وَعِمَادِ الْأَصْفِيَاءِ
wa`imādil aṣfiyā
And support of the chosen ones
164
أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
amīril mu-minīn
Commander of the Faithful
165
وَيَعْسُوبِ الْمُتَّقِينَ
waya`sūbil muttaqīn
And leader of the pious
166
وَقُدْوَةِ الصِّدِّيقِينَ
waqudwatiṣ ṣiddīqīn
And exemplar for the truthful
167
وَإِمَامِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ
wa-imāmiṣ ṣāliḥīn
And Imam of the righteous
168
اَلْمَعْصُومِ مِنَ الزَّلَلِ
al ma`ṣūmi minaz zalal
The one protected from error
169
وَالْمَفْطُومِ مِنَ الْخَلَلِ
walmafṭūmi minal khalal
And purified from defect
170
وَالْمُهَذَّبِ مِنَ الْعَيْبِ
walmuhadhhabi minal `ayb
And refined from faults
171
وَالْمُطَهَّرِ مِنَ الرَّيْبِ
walmuṭahhari minar rayb
And cleansed from doubt
172
أَخِيْ نَبِيِّكَ
akhī nabiyyik
The brother of Your Prophet
173
وَوَصِيِّ رَسُولِكَ
wawaṣiyyi rasūlik
And successor of Your Messenger
174
وَالْبَائِتِ عَلٰى فِرَاشِهِ
walbā-iti `alā firāshih
And the one who slept in his bed
175
وَالْمُوَاسِيْ لَهُ بِنَفْسِهِ
walmuwāsī lahu binafsih
And sacrificed himself for him
176
وَكَاشِفِ الْكَرْبِ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ
wakāshifil kar-bi `an wajhih
And removed grief from his face
177
اَلَّذِيْ جَعَلْتَهُ سَيْفًا لِنُبُوَّتِهِ
al ladhī ja`altahu sayfan linubuwwatih
The one whom You made a sword for his prophethood
178
وَمُعْجِزًا لِرِسَالَتِهِ
wamu`jizan lirisālatih
And a miracle for his message
179
وَدَلالَةً وَاضِحَةً لِحُجَّتِهِ
wadalālatan wāḍiḥatan liḥujjatih
And a clear sign for his proof
180
وَحَامِلًا لِرَايَتِهِ
waḥāmilan lirāyatih
And the bearer of his banner
181
وَوِقَايَةً لِمُهْجَتِهِ
wawiqāyatan limuhjatih
And the protector of his life
182
وَهَادِيًا لِأُمَّتِهِ
wahādiyan li-ummatih
And a guide for his community
183
وَيَدًا لِبَأْسِهِ
wayadan liba-sih
And a hand for his strength
184
وَتَاجًا لِرَأْسِهِ
watājan lira-sih
And a crown for his head
185
وَبَابًا لِنَصْرِهِ
wabāban linaṣrih
And a door for his victory
186
وَمِفْتَاحًا لِظَفَرِهِ
wamiftāḥan liẓafarih
And a key for his triumph
187
حَتَّىٰ هَزَمَ جُنُودَ الشِّرْكِ بِأَيْدِكَ
ḥattā hazama junūdash shir-ki bi-aydik
Until he defeated the armies of polytheism by Your hands
188
وَأَبَادَ عَسَاكِرَ الْكُفْرِ بِأَمْرِكَ
wa-abāda `asākiral kufri bi-amrik
And destroyed the forces of disbelief by Your command
189
وَبَذَلَ نَفْسَهُ فِيْ مَرْضَاتِكَ وَمَرْضَاةِ رَسُولِكَ
wabadhala nafsahu fī mar-ḍātika wamar-ḍāti rasūlik
And he sacrificed himself seeking Your pleasure and the pleasure of Your Messenger
190
وَجَعَلَهَا وَقْفًا عَلٰى طَاعَتِهِ
waja`alahā waqfan `alā ṭā`atih
And dedicated it to his obedience
191
وَمَجِنًّا دُوْنَ نَكْبَتِهِ
wamajinnan dūna nakbatih
And made it a shield against his afflictions
192
حَتَّىٰ فَاضَتْ نَفْسُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ فِيْ كَفِّهِ
ḥattā fāḍat nafsuhu ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālihi fī kaffih
Until his soul departed, peace be upon him and his family, in his palm
193
وَاسْتَلَبَ بَرْدَهَا
wastalaba bar-dahā
And he took its last breath
194
وَمَسَحَهُ عَلٰى وَجْهِهِ
wamasaḥahu `alā wajhih
And wiped it on his face
195
وَأَعَانَتْهُ مَلَائِكَتُكَ عَلٰى غُسْلِهِ وَتَجْهِيزِهِ
wa-a`ānat-hu malā-ikatuka `alā ghuslihi watajhīzih
And Your angels assisted him in washing and preparing him
196
وَصَلَّىٰ عَلَيْهِ وَوَارىٰ شَخْصَهُ
waṣallā `alayhi wawārā shakhṣah
And he prayed over him and buried his body
197
وَقَضىٰ دَيْنَهُ
waqaḍā daynah
And paid his debts
198
وَأَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ
wa-anjaza wa`dah
And fulfilled his promises
199
وَلَزِمَ عَهْدَهُ
walazima `ahdah
And kept his covenant
200
وَاحْتَذىٰ مِثَالَهُ
waḥtadhā mithālah
And followed his example
201
وَحَفِظَ وَصِيَّتَهُ
waḥafiẓa waṣiyyatah
And preserved his will
202
وَحِيْنَ وَجَدَ أَنْصَارًا نَهَضَ مُسْتَقِلًّا بِأَعْبَاءِ الْخِلافَةِ
waḥīna wajada anṣāran nahaḍa mustaqillan bi-a`bā-il khilāfah
And when he found supporters, he rose carrying the burdens of the caliphate
203
مُضْطَلِعًا بِأَثْقَالِ الْإِمَامَةِ
muḍṭali`an bi-athqālil imāmah
Undertaking the heavy responsibilities of leadership
204
فَنَصَبَ رَايَةَ الْهُدَىٰ فِيْ عِبَادِكَ
fanaṣaba rāyatal hudā fī `ibādik
He raised the banner of guidance among Your servants
205
وَنَشَرَ ثَوْبَ الْأَمْنِ فِيْ بِلادِكَ
wanashara thawbal amni fī bilādik
And spread the garment of security in Your lands
206
وَبَسَطَ الْعَدْلَ فِيْ بَرِيَّتِكَ
wabasaṭal `adla fī bariyyatik
And established justice among Your creation
207
وَحَكَمَ بِكِتَابِكَ فِيْ خَلِيقَتِكَ
waḥakama bikitābika fī khalīqatik
And judged by Your Book among Your creatures
208
وَأَقَامَ الْحُدُودَ
wa-aqāmal ḥudūd
And established the legal punishments
209
وَقَمَعَ الْجُحُودَ
waqama`al juḥūd
And suppressed denial
210
وَقَوَّمَ الزَّيْغَ
waqawwamaz zaygh
And straightened deviation
211
وَسَكَّنَ الْغَمْرَةَ
wasakkanal ghamrah
And calmed the turmoil
212
وَأَبَادَ الْفَتْرَةَ
wa-abādal fatrah
And eliminated periods of lapse
213
وَسَدَّ الْفُرْجَةَ
wasaddal fur-jah
And closed the gap
214
وَقَتَلَ النَّاكِثَةَ وَالْقَاسِطَةَ وَالْمَارِقَةَ
waqatalan nākithata walqāsiṭata walmāriqah
And fought those who broke their pledge, the unjust, and those who deviated
215
وَلَمْ يَزَلْ عَلٰى مِنْهَاجِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَوَتِيرَتِهِ
walam yazal `alā minhāji rasūlillāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālihi wawatīratih
And he never ceased to follow the path of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, and his way
216
وَلُطْفِ شَاكِلَتِهِ
waluṭfi shākilatih
And his gentle manner
217
وَجَمَالِ سِيرَتِهِ
wajamāli sīratih
And his beautiful conduct
218
مُقْتَدِيًا بِسُنَّتِهِ
muqtadiyan bisunnatih
Following his tradition
219
مُتَعَلِّقًا بِهِمَّتِهِ
muta`alliqan bihimmatih
Attached to his high aspiration
220
مُبَاشِرًا لِطَرِيقَتِهِ
mubāshiran liṭarīqatih
Directly pursuing his path
221
وَأَمْثِلَتُهُ نَصْبُ عَيْنَيْهِ
wa-amthilatuhu naṣbu `aynayh
With his examples before his eyes
222
يَحْمِلُ عِبَادَكَ عَلَيْهَا
yaḥmilu `ibādaka `alayhā
Guiding Your servants to them
223
وَيَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهَا
wayad`ūhum ilayhā
And calling them to them
224
إِلٰى أَنْ خُضِبَتْ شَيْبَتُهُ مِنْ دَمِ رَأْسِهِ
ilā an khuḍibat shaybatuhu min dami ra-sih
Until his beard was dyed with the blood from his head
225
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَكَمَا لَمْ يُؤْثِرْ فِيْ طَاعَتِكَ شَكًّا عَلٰى يَقِينٍ
allāhumma fakamā lam yu-thir fī ṭā`atika shakkan `alā yaqīn
O Allah, as he never preferred doubt over certainty in obeying You
226
وَلَمْ يُشْرِكْ بِكَ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
walam yushrik bika ṭar-fata `ayn
And never associated anything with You, not even for the blink of an eye
227
صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاةً زَاكِيَةً نَامِيَةً
ṣalli `alayhi ṣalātan zākiyatan nāmiyah
Bless him with a pure and growing blessing
228
يَلْحَقُ بِهَا دَرَجَةَ النُّبُوَّةِ فِيْ جَنَّتِكَ
yalḥaqu bihā darajatan nubuwwati fī jannatik
By which he reaches the rank of prophethood in Your Paradise
229
وَبَلِّغْهُ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلامًا
waballigh-hu minnā taḥiyyatan wasalāmā
And convey to him from us greetings and peace
230
وَ آتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ فِيْ مُوَالَاتِهِ فَضْلًا وَإِحْسَانًا
wa ātinā min ladunka fī muwālātihi faḍlan wa-iḥsānā
And grant us from You, in our devotion to him, favor and kindness
231
وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرِضْوَانًا
wamaghfiratan wariḍwānā
And forgiveness and pleasure
232
إِنَّكَ ذُوْ الْفَضْلِ الْجَسِيمِ
innaka dhul faḍlil jasīm
Surely You are the Possessor of great bounty
233
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥmar rāḥimīn
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
You may then put your right and then left cheeks on the tomb, turn to the kiblah direction, offer the Prayer of Ziyarah, and supplicate for anything you want.
Then, you may recite the [famous] Tasbih al-Zahra' and say the following:
234
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ بَشَّرْتَنِي
allāhumma innaka bashhar-tanī
O Allah, You have given me glad tidings
235
عَلٰى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
`alā lisāni nabiyyika warasūlik
Through the tongue of Your Prophet and Messenger
236
مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
muḥammadin ṣalawātuka `alayhi wa ālih
Muhammad, Your blessings be upon him and his family
237
فَقُلْتَ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِيْنَ آمَنُوْا أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ
faqulta wabashhiril ladhīna-āmanū anna lahum qadama ṣidqin `inda rabbihim
You said: "And give good news to those who believe that they have a true standing with their Lord"
238
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَإِنِّيْ مُؤْمِنٌ بِجَمِيْعِ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ
allāhumma wa-innī mu-minun bijamī`i anbiyā-ika warusulika ṣalawātuka `alayhim
O Allah, I believe in all Your Prophets and Messengers, Your blessings be upon them
239
فَلَا تَقِفْنِيْ بَعْدَ مَعْرِفَتِهِمْ مَوْقِفًا
falā taqifnī ba`da ma`rifatihim mawqifā
So do not place me, after knowing them, in a position
240
تَفْضَحُنِيْ فِيهِ عَلٰى رُؤُوسِ الْأَشْهَادِ
tafḍaḥunī fīhi `alā ru-ūsil ash-hād
Where You expose me before witnesses
241
بَلْ قِفْنِيْ مَعَهُمْ وَتَوَفَّنِيْ عَلَى التَّصْدِيقِ بِهِمْ
bal qifnī ma`ahum watawaffanī `alat taṣdīqi bihim
But place me with them and let me die believing in them
242
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَأَنْتَ خَصَصْتَهُمْ بِكَرَامَتِكَ
allāhumma wa-anta khaṣaṣtahum bikarāmatik
O Allah, You have honored them with Your generosity
243
وَأَمَرْتَنِيْ بِاتِّبَاعِهِمْ
wa-amar-tanī bittibā`ihim
And commanded me to follow them
244
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَإِنِّيْ عَبْدُكَ وَزَائِرُكَ
allāhumma wa-innī `abduka wazā-iruk
O Allah, I am Your servant and Your visitor
245
مُتَقَرِّبًا إِلَيْكَ بِزِيَارَةِ أَخِيْ رَسُولِكَ
mutaqarriban ilayka biziyārati akhī rasūlik
Seeking nearness to You by visiting the brother of Your Messenger
246
وَعَلٰى كُلِّ مَأْتِيٍّ وَمَزُورٍ حَقٌّ لِمَنْ أَتَاهُ وَزَارَهُ
wa`alā kulli ma-tiyyin wamazūrin ḥaqqun liman atāhu wazārah
And upon every host and one visited is a right for those who come and visit them
247
وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَأْتِيٍّ
wa-anta khayru ma-tiyy
And You are the best host
248
وَأَكْرَمُ مَزُورٍ
wa-akramu mazūr
And the most generous one visited
249
فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا اَللَّهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيمُ
fa-as-aluka yā allāhu yā raḥmānu yā raḥīm
So I ask You, O Allah, O Compassionate, O Merciful
250
يَا جَوَادُ يَا مَاجِدُ
yā jawādu yā mājid
O Generous, O Glorious
251
يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ
yā aḥadu yā ṣamad
O One, O Eternal
252
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
yā man lam yalid walam yūlad
O He who does not beget nor is begotten
253
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
walam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad
And there is none like unto Him
254
وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا
walam yattakhidh ṣāḥibatan walā waladā
And who has not taken a companion nor a son
255
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tuṣalliya `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
That You bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
256
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ تُحْفَتَكَ إِيَّايَ مِنْ زِيَارَتِيْ أَخَا رَسُولِكَ
wa-an taj`ala tuḥfataka iyyāya min ziyāratī akhā rasūlik
And that You make Your gift to me from my visit to the brother of Your Messenger
257
فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
fakāka raqabatī minan nār
The freeing of my neck from the Fire
258
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنِيْ مِمَّنْ يُسَارِعُ فِيْ الْخَيْرَاتِ
wa-an taj`alanī mimman yusāri`u fil khayrāt
And make me among those who hasten to good deeds
259
وَيَدْعُوكَ رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا
wayad`ūka raghaban warahabā
And who call upon You in hope and fear
260
وَتَجْعَلَنِيْ لَكَ مِنَ الْخَاشِعِينَ
wataj`alanī laka minal khāshi`īn
And make me among those who humble themselves to You
261
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ مَنَنْتَ عَلَيَّ بِزِيَارَةِ مَوْلَايَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِيْ طَالِبٍ
allāhumma innaka mananta `alayya biziyārati mawlāya `aliyyibni abī ṭālib
O Allah, You have favored me with the visit of my master Ali ibn Abi Talib
262
وَوِلايَتِهِ وَمَعْرِفَتِهِ
wawilāyatihi wama`rifatih
And his leadership and knowledge of him
263
فَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ يَنْصُرُهُ وَيَنْتَصِرُ بِهِ
faj`alnī mimman yanṣuruhu wayantaṣiru bih
So make me among those who support him and are victorious through him
264
وَمُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِنَصْرِكَ لِدِينِكَ
wamunna `alayya binaṣrika lidīnik
And favor me with Your support for Your religion
265
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَتَوَفَّنِيْ عَلٰى دِينِهِ
allāhumma waj`alnī min shī`atihi watawaffanī `alā dīnih
O Allah, make me among his followers and let me die on his religion
266
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَوْجِبْ لِيْ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَالرِّضْوَانِ
allāhumma awjib lī minar raḥmati war riḍwān
O Allah, make obligatory for me from mercy and pleasure
267
وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ
walmaghfirati wal-iḥsān
And forgiveness and kindness
268
وَالرِّزْقِ الْوَاسِعِ الْحَلالِ الطَّيِّبِ
war rizqil wāsi`il ḥalāliṭ ṭayyib
And abundant, lawful, and good provision
269
مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
mā anta ahluhu yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
That which You are worthy of, O Most Merciful of the merciful
270
وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
walḥamdu lillāhi rabbil `ālamīn
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds
