بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ لَيْسَ لِقَضَائِهِ دَافِعٌ
al ḥamdu lillāhil ladhī laysa liqaḍā-ihi dāfi`
All praise is due to Allah, whose decree none can repel
2
وَلَا لِعَطَائِهِ مَانِعٌ
walā li`aṭā-ihi māni`
And whose gift none can prevent
3
وَلَا كَصُنْعِهِ صُنْعُ صَانِعٍ
walā kaṣun`ihi ṣun`u ṣāni`
And none can produce what He produces
4
وَهُوَ الْجَوَادُ الْوَاسِعُ
wahuwal jawādul wāsi`
And He is the Generous, the All-Encompassing
5
فَطَرَ أَجْنَاسَ الْبَدَائِعِ
faṭara ajnāsal badā-i`
He originated all forms of creation
6
وَأَتْقَنَ بِحِكْمَتِهِ الصَّنَائِعَ
wa-atqana biḥikmatihiṣ ṣanā-i`
And perfected with His wisdom all that He created
7
لَا تَخْفىٰ عَلَيْهِ الطَّلائِعُ
lā takhfā `alayhiṭ ṭalā-i`
Hidden things are not concealed from Him
8
وَلَا تَضِيعُ عِنْدَهُ الْوَدَائِعُ
walā taḍī`u `indahul wadā-i`
And trusts are not lost with Him
9
جَازِيْ كُلِّ صَانِعٍ
jāzī kulli ṣāni`
The Rewarder of every maker
10
وَرَايِشُ كُلِّ قَانِعٍ
warāyishu kulli qāni`
The Provider for every contented one
11
وَرَاحِمُ كُلِّ ضَارِعٍ
warāḥimu kulli ḍāri`
The Merciful to every beseecher
12
وَمُنْزِلُ الْمَنَافِعِ
wamunzilul manāfi`
The Sender of benefits
13
وَالْكِتَابِ الْجَامِعِ بِالنُّورِ السَّاطِعِ
walkitābil jāmi`i binnūris sāṭi`
And the Revealer of the comprehensive Book with brilliant light
14
وَهُوَ لِلدَّعَوَاتِ سَامِعٌ
wahuwa lidda`awāti sāmi`
And He is the Hearer of supplications
15
وَلِلْكُرُبَاتِ دَافِعٌ
walilkurubāti dāfi`
And the Remover of afflictions
16
وَلِلدَّرَجَاتِ رَافِعٌ
waliddarajāti rāfi`
And the Raiser of ranks
17
وَلِلْجَبَابِرَةِ قَامِعٌ
waliljabābirati qāmi`
And the Subduer of tyrants
18
فَلَا إِلٰهَ غَيْرُهُ
falā ilāha ghayruh
There is no god but He
19
وَلَا شَيْءَ يَعْدِلُهُ
walā shay-a ya`diluh
And nothing equals Him
20
وَلَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
walaysa kamithlihi shay
And nothing is like Him
21
وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
wahuwas samī`ul baṣīr
And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing
22
اَللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ
al laṭīful khabīr
The Subtle, the All-Aware
23
وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
wahuwa `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
And He has power over all things
24
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ
allāhumma innī ar-ghabu ilayk
O Allah, I seek from You
25
وَأَشْهَدُ بِالرُّبُوبِيَّةِ لَكَ
wa-ash-hadu birrubūbiyyati lak
And I bear witness to Your Lordship
26
مُقِرًّا بِأَنَّكَ رَبِّي
muqirran bi-annaka rabbī
Acknowledging that You are my Lord
27
وَأَنَّ إِلَيْكَ مَرَدِّي
wa-anna ilayka maraddī
And that to You is my return
28
اِبْتَدَأْتَنِيْ بِنِعْمَتِكَ
ibtada-tanī bini`matik
You originated me with Your blessing
29
قَبْلَ أَنْ أَكُونَ شَيْئًا مَذْكُورًا
qabla an akūna shay-an madhkūrā
Before I was anything mentioned
30
وَخَلَقْتَنِيْ مِنَ التُّرَابِ
wakhalaqtanī minat turāb
And You created me from dust
31
ثُمَّ أَسْكَنْتَنِيْ الْأَصْلاَبَ
thumma askantanil aṣlāb
Then You placed me in the loins
32
آمِنًا لِرَيْبِ الْمَنُونِ
āminan liraybil manūn
Safe from the vicissitudes of time
33
وَاخْتِلافِ الدُّهُورِ وَالسِّنِينَ
wakhtilāfid duhūri was sinīn
And the changes of ages and years
34
فَلَمْ أَزَلْ ظَاعِنًا مِنْ صُلْبٍ إِلَى رَحِمٍ
falam azal ẓā`inan min ṣulbin ilā raḥim
I continued to move from loin to womb
35
فِيْ تَقَادُمٍ مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ الْمَاضِيَةِ
fī taqādumin minal ayyāmil māḍiyah
In the succession of bygone days
36
وَالْقُرُونِ الْخَالِيَةِ
walqurūnil khāliyah
And past centuries
37
لَمْ تُخْرِجْنِيْ لِرَأْفَتِكَ بِيْ
lam tukhrijnī lira-fatika bī
You did not bring me forth because of Your kindness to me
38
وَلُطْفِكَ لِيْ
waluṭfika lī
And Your gentleness towards me
39
وَإِحْسَانِكَ إِلَيَّ
wa-iḥsānika ilayy
And Your goodness to me
40
فِيْ دَوْلَةِ أَئِمَّةِ الْكُفْرِ
fī dawlati a-immatil kufr
In the government of the leaders of disbelief
41
اَلَّذِيْنَ نَقَضُوْا عَهْدَكَ
al ladhīna naqaḍū `ahdak
Who broke Your covenant
42
وَكَذَّبُوْا رُسُلَكَ
wakadhhabū rusulak
And denied Your messengers
43
لَكِنَّكَ أَخْرَجْتَنِيْ رَأْفَةً مِنْكَ وَتَحَنُّنًا عَلَيَّ لِلَّذِيْ سَبَقَ لِيْ مِنَ الْهُدىٰ
lakinnaka akhrajtanī ra-fatan minka wataḥannunan `alayya lilladhī sabaqa lī minal hudā
But You brought me forth out of mercy and kindness to me, for the guidance which had preceded for me
44
اَلَّذِيْ لَهُ يَسَّرْتَنِيْ
al ladhī lahu yassar-tanī
For which You made me easily disposed
45
وَفِيهِ أَنْشَأْتَنِيْ
wafīhi ansha-tanī
And in which You nurtured me
46
وَمِنْ قَبْلِ ذٰلِكَ رَؤُفْتَ بِيْ
wamin qabli dhālika ra-ufta bī
And even before that You were gentle with me
47
بِجَمِيلِ صُنْعِكَ
bijamīli ṣun`ik
Through Your beautiful making
48
وَسَوَابِغِ نِعَمِكَ
wasawābighi ni`amik
And Your abundant blessings
49
فَابْتَدَعْتَ خَلْقِيْ مِنْ مَنِيٍّ يُمْنىٰ
fabtada`ta khalqī min maniyyin yumnā
You originated my creation from flowing semen
50
وَأَسْكَنْتَنِيْ فِيْ ظُلُمَاتٍ ثَلاثٍ
wa-askantanī fī ẓulumātin thalāth
And placed me in three layers of darkness
51
بَيْنَ لَحْمٍ وَدَمٍ وَجِلْدٍ
bayna laḥmin wadamin wajild
Between flesh, blood, and skin
52
لَمْ تُشْهِدْنِيْ خَلْقِيْ
lam tush-hidnī khalqī
You did not make me witness my creation
53
وَلَمْ تَجْعَلْ إِلَيَّ شَيْئًا مِنْ أَمْرِيْ
walam taj`al ilayya shay-an min amrī
And did not entrust any of my affairs to me
54
ثُمَّ أَخْرَجْتَنِيْ لِلَّذِيْ سَبَقَ لِيْ مِنَ الْهُدىٰ
thumma akhrajtanī lilladhī sabaqa lī minal hudā
Then You brought me forth for the guidance that had preceded for me
55
إِلَى الدُّنْيَا تَامًّا سَوِيًّا
ilad dunyā tāmman sawiyyā
Into the world, perfect and sound
56
وَحَفِظْتَنِيْ فِيْ الْمَهْدِ طِفْلًا صَبِيًّا
waḥafiẓtanī fil mahdi ṭiflan ṣabiyyā
And You protected me in the cradle as a small child
57
وَرَزَقْتَنِيْ مِنَ الْغِذَاءِ لَبَنًا مَرِيًّا
warazaqtanī minal ghidhā-i labanan mariyyā
And provided me with wholesome milk as sustenance
58
وَعَطَفْتَ عَلَيَّ قُلُوبَ الْحَوَاضِنِ
wa`aṭafta `alayya qulūbal ḥawāḍin
And endeared me to the hearts of nurses
59
وَكَفَّلْتَنِيْ الْأُمَّهَاتِ الرَّوَاحِمَ
wakaffaltanil ummahātir rawāḥim
And entrusted me to compassionate mothers
60
وَكَلَأْتَنِيْ مِنْ طَوَارِقِ الْجَانِّ
wakala-tanī min ṭawāriqil jānn
And guarded me from the harm of jinn
61
وَسَلَّمْتَنِيْ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ وَالنُّقْصَانِ
wasallamtanī minaz ziyādati wan nuqṣān
And kept me safe from excess and deficiency
62
فَتَعَالَيْتَ يَا رَحِيمُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ
fata`ālayta yā raḥīmu yā raḥmān
Exalted are You, O Merciful, O Compassionate
63
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا اسْتَهْلَلْتُ نَاطِقًا بِالْكَلامِ
ḥattā idhastahlaltu nāṭiqan bil kalām
Until when I began to speak
64
أَتْمَمْتَ عَلَيَّ سَوَابِغَ الْإِنْعَامِ
atmamta `alayya sawābighal in`ām
You completed for me Your abundant blessings
65
وَرَبَّيْتَنِيْ زَائِدًا فِيْ كُلِّ عَامٍ
warabbaytanī zā-idan fī kulli `ām
And raised me increasing in growth each year
66
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا اكْتَمَلَتْ فِطْرَتِيْ
ḥattā idhaktamalat fiṭratī
Until when my nature was perfected
67
وَاعْتَدَلَتْ مِرَّتِيْ
wa`tadalat mirratī
And my strength was balanced
68
أَوْجَبْتَ عَلَيَّ حُجَّتَكَ
awjabta `alayya ḥujjatak
You made Your proof incumbent upon me
69
بِأَنْ أَلْهَمْتَنِيْ مَعْرِفَتَكَ
bi-an alhamtanī ma`rifatak
By inspiring in me knowledge of You
70
وَرَوَّعْتَنِيْ بِعَجَائِبِ حِكْمَتِكَ
warawwa`tanī bi`ajā-ibi ḥikmatik
And amazed me with the wonders of Your wisdom
71
وَأَيْقَظْتَنِيْ لِمَا ذَرَأْتَ فِيْ سَمَائِكَ وَأَرْضِكَ
wa-ayqaẓtanī limā dhara-ta fī samā-ika wa-ar-ḍik
And awakened me to what You have spread in Your heavens and Your earth
72
مِنْ بَدَائِعِ خَلْقِكَ
min badā-i`i khalqik
Of the marvels of Your creation
73
وَنَبَّهْتَنِيْ لِشُكْرِكَ وَذِكْرِكَ
wanabbahtanī lishukrika wadhikrik
And alerted me to thank You and remember You
74
وَأَوْجَبْتَ عَلَيَّ طَاعَتَكَ وَعِبَادَتَكَ
wa-awjabta `alayya ṭā`ataka wa`ibādatak
And made obligatory upon me Your obedience and worship
75
وَفَهَّمْتَنِيْ مَا جَاءَتْ بِهِ رُسُلُكَ
wafahhamtanī mā jā-at bihi rusuluk
And made me understand what Your messengers brought
76
وَيَسَّرْتَ لِيْ تَقَبُّلَ مَرْضَاتِكَ
wayassar-ta lī taqabbula mar-ḍātik
And made easy for me to accept what pleases You
77
وَمَنَنْتَ عَلَيَّ فِيْ جَمِيعِ ذٰلِكَ
wamananta `alayya fī jamī`i dhālik
And bestowed favor upon me in all of that
78
بِعَوْنِكَ وَلُطْفِكَ
bi`awnika waluṭfik
With Your help and kindness
79
ثُمَّ إِذْ خَلَقْتَنِيْ مِنْ خَيْرِ الثَّرىٰ
thumma idh khalaqtanī min khayrith tharā
Then, since You created me from the best soil
80
لَمْ تَرْضَ لِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ نِعْمَةً دُوْنَ أُخْرىٰ
lam tar-ḍa lī yā ilāhī ni`matan dūna ukhrā
You were not satisfied, my God, with one blessing instead of another
81
وَرَزَقْتَنِيْ مِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْمَعَاشِ
warazaqtanī min anwā`il ma`āsh
And You provided me with various means of livelihood
82
وَصُنُوفِ الرِّيَاشِ
waṣunūfir riyāsh
And different kinds of sustenance
83
بِمَنِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ الْأَعْظَمِ عَلَيَّ
bimannikal `aẓīmil a`ẓami `alayy
Through Your immense greatest favor upon me
84
وَإِحْسَانِكَ الْقَدِيمِ إِلَيَّ
wa-iḥsānikal qadīmi ilayy
And Your eternal goodness toward me
85
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَتْمَمْتَ عَلَيَّ جَمِيعَ النِّعَمِ
ḥattā idhā atmamta `alayya jamī`an ni`am
Until when You completed all blessings for me
86
وَصَرَفْتَ عَنِّيْ كُلَّ النِّقَمِ
waṣarafta `annī kullan niqam
And averted from me all misfortunes
87
لَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ جَهْلِيْ وَجُرْأَتِيْ عَلَيْكَ
lam yamna`ka jahlī wajur-atī `alayk
My ignorance and boldness toward You did not prevent You
88
أَنْ دَلَلْتَنِيْ إِلَى مَا يُقَرِّبُنِيْ إِلَيْكَ
an dalaltanī ilā mā yuqarribunī ilayk
From guiding me to what would bring me near to You
89
وَوَفَّقْتَنِيْ لِمَا يُزْلِفُنِيْ لَدَيْكَ
wawaffaqtanī limā yuzlifunī ladayk
And giving me success in what would bring me close to You
90
فَإِنْ دَعَوْتُكَ أَجَبْتَنِيْ
fa-in da`awtuka ajabtanī
If I call upon You, You answer me
91
وَإِنْ سَأَلْتُكَ أَعْطَيْتَنِيْ
wa-in sa-altuka a`ṭaytanī
And if I ask of You, You give me
92
وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُكَ شَكَرْتَنِيْ
wa-in aṭa`tuka shakar-tanī
And if I obey You, You thank me
93
وَإِنْ شَكَرْتُكَ زِدْتَنِيْ
wa-in shakar-tuka zidtanī
And if I thank You, You give me more
94
كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ إِكْمَالٌ لِأَنْعُمِكَ عَلَيَّ
kullu dhālika ikmālun li-an`umika `alayy
All of that is a completion of Your blessings upon me
95
وَإِحْسَانِكَ إِلَيَّ
wa-iḥsānika ilayy
And Your goodness toward me
96
فَسُبْحَانَكَ سُبْحَانَكَ
fasubḥānaka subḥānak
So glory be to You, glory be to You
97
مِنْ مُبْدِئٍ مُعِيدٍ
min mubdi-in mu`īd
The Originator, the Restorer
98
حَمِيدٍ مَجِيدٍ
ḥamīdin majīd
The Praiseworthy, the Glorious
99
وَتَقَدَّسَتْ أَسْمَاؤُكَ
wataqaddasat asma-uk
Holy are Your names
100
وَعَظُمَتْ آلاَؤُكَ
wa`aẓumat-ālā-uk
And great are Your favors
101
فَأَيُّ نِعَمِكَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ أُحْصِيْ عَدَدًا وَذِكْرًا
fa-ayyu ni`amika yā ilāhī uḥṣī `adadan wadhikrā
So which of Your blessings, my God, can I count in number and mention?
102
أَمْ أَيُّ عَطَايَاكَ أَقُومُ بِهَا شُكْرًا
am ayyu `aṭāyāka aqūmu bihā shukrā
Or which of Your gifts can I adequately thank You for?
103
وَ هِيَ يَا رَبِّ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ يُحْصِيهَا الْعَادُّوْنَ
wa hiya yā rabbi aktharu min an yuḥṣīhal `āddūn
They are, O Lord, more than can be counted by those who count
104
أَوْ يَبْلُغَ عِلْمًا بِهَا الْحَافِظُونَ
aw yablugha `ilman bihal ḥāfiẓūn
Or than can be fully comprehended by those who remember
105
ثُمَّ مَا صَرَفْتَ وَدَرَأْتَ عَنِّي
thumma mā ṣarafta wadara-ta `annī
Then what You have averted and removed from me
106
اَللّٰهُمَّ مِنَ الضُّرِّ وَالضَّرَّاءِ
allāhumma minaḍ ḍurri waḍ ḍarrā
O Allah, of harm and difficulty
107
أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا ظَهَرَ لِيْ مِنَ الْعَافِيَةِ وَالسَّرَّاءِ
aktharu mimmā ẓahara lī minal `āfiyati was sarrā
Is more than what has appeared to me of well-being and ease
108
وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ يَا إِلٰهِيْ بِحَقِيقَةِ إِيمَانِيْ
wa-ana ash-hadu yā ilāhī biḥaqīqati īmānī
And I bear witness, my God, with the reality of my faith
109
وَعَقْدِ عَزَمَاتِ يَقِينِيْ
wa`aqdi `azamāti yaqīnī
And the firm conviction of my certainty
110
وَخَالِصِ صَرِيحِ تَوْحِيدِيْ
wakhāliṣi ṣarīḥi tawḥīdī
And the sincerity of my declaration of Your Oneness
111
وَبَاطِنِ مَكْنُونِ ضَمِيرِيْ
wabāṭini maknūni ḍamīrī
And the hidden depths of my conscience
112
وَعَلائِقِ مَجَارِيْ نُوْرِ بَصَرِيْ
wa`alā-iqi majārī nūri baṣarī
And the attachments of the channels of my sight's light
113
وَأَسَارِيرِ صَفْحَةِ جَبِينِيْ
wa-asārīri ṣafḥati jabīnī
And the lines on the page of my forehead
114
وَخُرْقِ مَسَارِبِ نَفْسِيْ
wakhur-qi masāribi nafsī
And the pathways of my breath's passages
115
وَخَذَارِيفِ مَارِنِ عِرْنِينِيْ
wakhadhārīfi mārini `ir-nīnī
And the cartilage of the soft part of my nose
116
وَمَسَارِبِ سِمَاخِ سَمْعِيْ
wamasāribi simākhi sam`ī
And the canals of my hearing's sense
117
وَمَا ضُمَّتْ وَأَطْبَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ شَفَتَايَ
wamā ḍummat wa-aṭbaqat `alayhi shafatāy
And what my lips press together and close upon
118
وَحَرَكَاتِ لَفْظِ لِسَانِيْ
waḥarakāti lafẓi lisānī
And the movements of my tongue's utterances
119
وَمَغْرَزِ حَنَكِ فَمِيْ وَفَكِّي
wamaghrazi ḥanaki famī wafakkī
And the socket of my mouth and jaw
120
وَمَنَابِتِ أَضْرَاسِيْ
wamanābiti aḍrāsī
And the arrangement of my teeth
121
وَمَسَاغِ مَطْعَمِيْ وَمَشْرَبِيْ
wamasāghi maṭ`amī wamashrabī
And the passages of my food and drink
122
وَحِمَالَةِ أُمِّ رَأْسِيْ
waḥimālati ummi ra-sī
And the carrier of my head's core
123
وَبُلُوعِ فَارِغِ حَبَائِلِ عُنُقِيْ
wabulū`i fārighi ḥabā-ili `unuqī
And what is contained in the passages of my neck
124
وَمَا اشْتَمَلَ عَلَيْهِ تَامُورُ صَدْرِيْ
wamashtamala `alayhi tāmūru ṣadrī
And what is encompassed by the covering of my chest
125
وَحَمَائِلِ حَبْلِ وَتِينِيْ
waḥamā-ili ḥabli watīnī
And the carriers of my aorta
126
وَنِيَاطِ حِجَابِ قَلْبِيْ
waniyāṭi ḥijābi qalbī
And the places where my heart's veil is attached
127
وَأَفْلاَذِ حَوَاشِيْ كَبِدِيْ
wa-aflādhi ḥawāshī kabidī
And the pieces of my liver's edges
128
وَمَا حَوَتْهُ شَرَاسِيفُ أَضْلاَعِيْ
wamā ḥawat-hu sharāsīfu aḍlā`ī
And what is contained by the cartilages of my ribs
129
وَحِقَاقُ مَفَاصِلِيْ
waḥiqāqu mafāṣilī
And the joints of my limbs
130
وَقَبْضُ عَوَامِلِيْ
waqabḍu `awāmilī
And the contraction of my muscles
131
وَأَطْرَافُ أَنَامِلِيْ
wa-aṭrāfu anāmilī
And the tips of my fingers
132
وَلَحْمِيْ وَدَمِيْ
walaḥmī wadamī
And my flesh and my blood
133
وَشَعْرِيْ وَبَشَرِيْ
washa`rī wabasharī
And my hair and my skin
134
وَعَصَبِيْ وَقَصَبِيْ
wa`aṣabī waqaṣabī
And my nerves and my bones
135
وَعِظَامِيْ وَمُخِّى وَعُرُوقِيْ
wa`iẓāmī wamukhhī wa`urūqī
And my bones and my marrow and my veins
136
وَجَمِيعُ جَوَارِحِيْ
wajamī`u jawāriḥī
And all my organs
137
وَمَا انْتَسَجَ عَلَى ذٰلِكَ أَيَّامَ رِضَاعِيْ
wamantasaja `alā dhālika ayyāma riḍā`ī
And what was woven upon them during my nursing days
138
وَمَا أَقَلَّتِ الْأَرْضُ مِنِّي
wamā aqallatil ar-ḍu minnī
And what the earth carries of me
139
وَنَوْمِيْ وَيَقْظَتِيْ وَسُكُونِيْ
wanawmī wayaqẓatī wasukūnī
And my sleep and my wakefulness and my stillness
140
وَحَرَكَاتِ رُكُوعِيْ وَسُجُودِيْ
waḥarakāti rukū`ī wasujūdī
And the movements of my bowing and prostration
141
أَنْ لَوْ حَاوَلْتُ وَاجْتَهَدْتُ مَدَى الْأَعْصَارِ
an law ḥāwaltu wajtahadtu madal a`ṣār
That if I tried and strove throughout all ages
142
وَالْأَحْقَابِ لَوْ عُمِّرْتُهَا
wal-aḥqābi law `ummir-tuhā
And epochs, were I to live them
143
أَنْ أُؤَدِّيَ شُكْرَ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْ أَنْعُمِكَ
an u-addiya shukra wāḥidatin min an`umik
To offer thanks for one of Your blessings
144
مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ ذٰلِكَ
mastaṭa`tu dhālik
I would not be able to do so
145
إِلَّا بِمَنِّكَ الْمُوْجَبِ عَلَيَّ بِهِ شُكْرُكَ
illā bimannikal mūjabi `alayya bihi shukruk
Except with Your favor which again would impose upon me the obligation to thank You
146
أَبَدًا جَدِيدًا
abadan jadīdā
Forever anew
147
وَثَنَاءً طَارِفًا عَتِيدًا
wathanā-an ṭārifan `atīdā
And with fresh and constant praise
148
أَجَلْ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُ
ajal walaw ḥaraṣt
Yes, and if I were to strive
149
أَنَا وَالْعَادُّونَ مِنْ أَنَامِكَ
anā wal`āddūna min anāmik
I and the counters among Your creatures
150
أَنْ نُحْصِيَ مَدَى إِنْعَامِكَ
an nuḥṣiya madā in`āmik
To count the extent of Your blessings
151
سَالِفِهِ وَ آنِفِهِ
sālifihi wa ānifih
Past and present
152
مَا حَصَرْنَاهُ عَدَدًا
mā ḥaṣar-nāhu `adadā
We could not enumerate them in number
153
وَلَا أَحْصَيْنَاهُ أَمَدًا
walā aḥṣaynāhu amadā
Nor calculate their duration
154
هَيْهَاتَ أَنَّىٰ ذٰلِكَ
hayhāta annā dhālik
How could that be?
155
وَأَنْتَ الْمُخْبِرُ فِيْ كِتَابِكَ النَّاطِقِ
wa-antal mukhbiru fī kitābikan nāṭiq
When You have declared in Your speaking Book
156
وَالنَّبَأِ الصَّادِقِ
wan naba-iṣ ṣādiq
And truthful news
157
وَإِنْ تَعُدُّوْا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا
wa-in ta`uddū ni`matallāhi lā tuḥṣūhā
"And if you count Allah's blessings, you cannot enumerate them"
158
صَدَقَ كِتَابُكَ اَللَّهُمَّ وَإِنْبَاؤُكَ
ṣadaqa kitābuka allāhumma wa-inba-uk
True is Your Book, O Allah, and Your message
159
وَبَلَّغَتْ أَنْبِيَاؤُكَ وَرُسُلُكَ
waballaghat anbiya-uka warusuluk
And Your prophets and messengers conveyed
160
مَا أَنْزَلْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ وَحْيِكَ
mā anzalta `alayhim min waḥyik
What You sent down to them of Your revelation
161
وَشَرَعْتَ لَهُمْ وَبِهِمْ مِنْ دِينِكَ
washara`ta lahum wabihim min dīnik
And what You legislated for them and through them of Your religion
162
غَيْرَ أَنِّيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ
ghayra annī yā ilāhī
However, my God
163
أَشْهَدُ بِجُهْدِيْ وَجِدِّي
ash-hadu bijuhdī wajiddī
I bear witness with my effort and seriousness
164
وَمَبْلَغِ طَاعَتِيْ وَوُسْعِيْ
wamablaghi ṭā`atī wawus`ī
And the extent of my ability and capacity
165
وَأَقُولُ مُؤْمِنًا مُوقِنًا
wa-aqūlu mu-minan mūqinā
And I say with faith and certainty
166
اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا
al ḥamdulillāhil ladhī lam yattakhidh waladā
Praise be to Allah who has not taken a son
167
فَيَكُوْنَ مَوْرُوْثًا
fayakūna mawrūthā
So that He would be inherited from
168
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِيْ مُلْكِهِ
walam yakun lahu sharīkun fī mulkih
And who has no partner in His dominion
169
فَيُضَادَّهُ فِيْمَا ابْتَدَعَ
fayuḍāddahu fīmabtada`
So that He would be opposed in what He creates
170
وَلَا وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ
walā waliyyun minadh dhull
And who has no protector due to weakness
171
فَيُرْفِدَهُ فِيمَا صَنَعَ
fayur-fidahu fīmā ṣana`
So that He would be assisted in what He makes
172
فَسُبْحَانَهُ سُبْحَانَهُ
fasubḥānahu subḥānah
Glory be to Him, glory be to Him
173
لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا وَتَفَطَّرَتَا
law kāna fīhimā-ālihatun illallāhu lafasadatā watafaṭṭaratā
"If there had been in them (the heavens and earth) gods besides Allah, they would both have been ruined"
174
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْأَحَدِ الصَّمَدِ
subḥānallāhil wāḥidil aḥadiṣ ṣamad
Glory be to Allah, the One, the Unique, the Eternal
175
اَلَّذِيْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
al ladhī lam yalid walam yūlad
Who begets not and is not begotten
176
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
walam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad
And there is none comparable to Him
177
اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِ حَمْدًا يُعَادِلُ حَمْدَ مَلائِكَتِهِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
al ḥamdulillāhi ḥamdan yu`ādilu ḥamda malā-ikatihil muqarrabīn
Praise be to Allah, with praise that equals the praise of His close angels
178
وَأَنْبِيَائِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
wa-anbiyā-ihil mur-salīn
And His sent prophets
179
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى خِيَرَتِهِ
waṣallallāhu `alā khiyaratih
And may Allah bless His chosen one
180
مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ
muḥammadin khātamin nabiyyīn
Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets
181
وَ آلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ الْمُخْلَصِينَ وَسَلَّمَ
wa ālihiṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīnal mukhlaṣīna wasallam
And his pure, purified, and sincere family, and give them peace
Imam [peace be upon him] then besought Almighty Allah so earnestly that his eyes shed tears. He then said
182
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ أَخْشَاكَ كَأَنِّي أَرَاكَ
allāhummaj`alnī akhshāka ka-annī arāk
O Allah, make me fear You as if I see You
183
وَأَسْعِدْنِيْ بِتَقْوَاكَ
wa-as`idnī bitaqwāk
And make me happy through piety toward You
184
وَلَا تُشْقِنِيْ بِمَعْصِيَتِكَ
walā tushqinī bima`ṣiyatik
And do not make me unhappy through disobedience to You
185
وَخِرْ لِيْ فِيْ قَضَائِكَ
wakhir lī fī qaḍā-ik
And choose for me in Your decree
186
وَبَارِكْ لِيْ فِيْ قَدَرِكَ
wabārik lī fī qadarik
And bless me in Your destiny
187
حَتَّىٰ لَاأُحِبَّ تَعْجِيلَ مَا أَخَّرْتَ
ḥattā lā-uḥibba ta`jīla mā akhhar-t
So that I do not wish to hasten what You have delayed
188
وَلَا تَأْخِيرَ مَا عَجَّلْتَ
walā ta-khīra mā `ajjalt
Or to delay what You have hastened
189
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ غِنَايَ فِيْ نَفْسِيْ
allāhummaj`al ghināya fī nafsī
O Allah, place my self-sufficiency in my soul
190
وَالْيَقِينَ فِيْ قَلْبِيْ
walyaqīna fī qalbī
And certainty in my heart
191
وَالْإِخْلاَصَ فِيْ عَمَلِيْ
wal-ikhlāṣa fī `amalī
And sincerity in my actions
192
وَالنُّوْرَ فِيْ بَصَرِيْ
wan nūra fī baṣarī
And light in my sight
193
وَالْبَصِيرَةَ فِيْ دِينِيْ
walbaṣīrata fī dīnī
And insight in my religion
194
وَمَتِّعْنِيْ بِجَوَارِحِيْ
wamatti`nī bijawāriḥī
And let me benefit from my faculties
195
وَاجْعَلْ سَمْعِيْ وَبَصَرِيْ الْوَارِثَيْنِ مِنِّي
waj`al sam`ī wabaṣaril wārithayni minnī
And make my hearing and sight my inheritors from me
196
وَانْصُرْنِيْ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِيْ
wanṣur-nī `alā man ẓalamanī
And help me against whoever wrongs me
197
وَأَرِنِيْ فِيهِ ثَارِيْ وَمَارِبِيْ
wa-arinī fīhi thārī wamāribī
And show me in him my revenge and my desire
198
وَأَقِرَّ بِذٰلِكَ عَيْنِيْ
wa-aqirra bidhālika `aynī
And by that comfort my eye
199
اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْشِفْ كُرْبَتِيْ
allāhummakshif kur-batī
O Allah, remove my distress
200
وَاسْتُرْ عَوْرَتِيْ
wastur `awratī
And conceal my faults
201
وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ خَطِيئَتِيْ
waghfir lī khaṭī-atī
And forgive my sins
202
وَاخْسَأْ شَيْطَانِيْ
wakhsa-shayṭānī
And drive away my devil
203
وَفُكَّ رِهَانِيْ
wafukka rihānī
And release my pledge
204
وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ الدَّرَجَةَ الْعُلْيَا
waj`al lī yā ilāhid darajatal `ulyā
And grant me, my God, the highest rank
205
فِيْ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولىٰ
fil-ākhirati wal-ūlā
In the Hereafter and in this world
206
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا خَلَقْتَنِيْ
allāhumma lakal ḥamdu kamā khalaqtanī
O Allah, to You belongs all praise for having created me
207
فَجَعَلْتَنِيْ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا
faja`altanī samī`an baṣīrā
And made me hearing and seeing
208
وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا خَلَقْتَنِيْ
walakal ḥamdu kamā khalaqtanī
And to You belongs all praise for having created me
209
فَجَعَلْتَنِيْ خَلْقًا سَوِيًّا رَحْمَةً بِيْ
faja`altanī khalqan sawiyyan raḥmatan bī
And made me a perfect creation as a mercy to me
210
وَقَدْ كُنْتَ عَنْ خَلْقِيْ غَنِيًّا
waqad kunta `an khalqī ghaniyyā
While You had no need of my creation
211
رَبِّ بِمَا بَرَأْتَنِيْ فَعَدَّلْتَ فِطْرَتِيْ
rabbi bimā bara-tanī fa`addalta fiṭratī
My Lord, as You originated me and perfected my nature
212
رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْشَأْتَنِيْ فَأَحْسَنْتَ صُورَتِيْ
rabbi bimā ansha-tanī fa-aḥsanta ṣūratī
My Lord, as You formed me and made my form beautiful
213
رَبِّ بِمَا أَحْسَنْتَ إِلَيَّ وَفِيْ نَفْسِيْ عَافَيْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā aḥsanta ilayya wafī nafsī `āfaytanī
My Lord, as You did good to me and granted me well-being in my soul
214
رَبِّ بِمَا كَلَأْتَنِيْ وَوَفَّقْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā kala-tanī wawaffaqtanī
My Lord, as You protected me and gave me success
215
رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَهَدَيْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā an`amta `alayya fahadaytanī
My Lord, as You blessed me and guided me
216
رَبِّ بِمَا أَوْلَيْتَنِيْ وَمِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَعْطَيْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā awlaytanī wamin kulli khayrin a`ṭaytanī
My Lord, as You favored me and gave me of every good
217
رَبِّ بِمَا أَطْعَمْتَنِيْ وَسَقَيْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā aṭ`amtanī wasaqaytanī
My Lord, as You fed me and gave me drink
218
رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْنَيْتَنِيْ وَأَقْنَيْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā aghnaytanī wa-aqnaytanī
My Lord, as You enriched me and satisfied me
219
رَبِّ بِمَا أَعَنْتَنِيْ وَأَعْزَزْتَنِيْ
rabbi bimā a`antanī wa-a`zaztanī
My Lord, as You helped me and honored me
220
رَبِّ بِمَا أَلْبَسْتَنِيْ مِنْ سِتْرِكَ الصَّافِيْ
rabbi bimā albastanī min sitrikaṣ ṣāfī
My Lord, as You clothed me with Your pure covering
221
وَيَسَّرْتَ لِيْ مِنْ صُنْعِكَ الْكَافِيْ
wayassar-ta lī min ṣun`ikal kāfī
And made easy for me Your sufficient making
222
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
223
وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى بَوَائِقِ الدُّهُورِ
wa-a`innī `alā bawā-iqid duhūr
And help me against the misfortunes of time
224
وَصُرُوفِ اللَّيَالِيْ وَالْأَيَّامِ
waṣurūfil layālī wal-ayyām
And the calamities of nights and days
225
وَنَجِّنِيْ مِنْ أَهْوَالِ الدُّنْيَا
wanajjinī min ahwālid dunyā
And save me from the terrors of this world
226
وَكُرُبَاتِ الْآخِرَةِ
wakurubātil-ākhirah
And the distresses of the Hereafter
227
وَاكْفِنِيْ شَرَّ مَا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُوْنَ فِيْ الْأَرْضِ
wakfinī sharra mā ya`maluẓ ẓālimūna fil ar-ḍ
And spare me from the evil of what the wrongdoers do in the earth
228
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا أَخَافُ فَاكْفِنِيْ
allāhumma mā akhāfu fakfinī
O Allah, what I fear, suffice me against it
229
وَمَا أَحْذَرُ فَقِنِيْ
wamā aḥdharu faqinī
And what I am wary of, protect me from it
230
وَفِيْ نَفْسِيْ وَدِينِيْ فَاحْرُسْنِيْ
wafī nafsī wadīnī faḥrusnī
And in my soul and religion, guard me
231
وَفِيْ سَفَرِيْ فَاحْفَظْنِيْ
wafī safarī faḥfaẓnī
And in my journey, protect me
232
وَفِيْ أَهْلِيْ وَمَالِيْ فَاخْلُفْنِيْ
wafī ahlī wamālī fakhlufnī
And in my family and property, be my deputy
233
وَفِيمَا رَزَقْتَنِيْ فَبَارِكْ لِيْ
wafīmā razaqtanī fabārik lī
And in what You have provided me, bless me
234
وَفِيْ نَفْسِيْ فَذَلِّلْنِيْ
wafī nafsī fadhallinī
And in my soul, humble me
235
وَفِيْ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ فَعَظِّمْنِيْ
wafī a`yunin nāsi fa`aẓẓimnī
And in the eyes of people, make me great
236
وَمِنْ شَرِّ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ فَسَلِّمْنِيْ
wamin sharril jinni wal-insi fasallimnī
And from the evil of jinn and mankind, deliver me
237
وَبِذُنُوبِيْ فَلَا تَفْضَحْنِيْ
wabidhunūbī falā tafḍaḥnī
And for my sins, do not expose me
238
وَبِسَرِيرَتِيْ فَلَا تُخْزِنِيْ
wabisarīratī falā tukhzinī
And for my inner thoughts, do not disgrace me
239
وَبِعَمَلِيْ فَلَا تَبْتَلِنِيْ
wabi`amalī falā tabtalinī
And for my deeds, do not try me
240
وَنِعَمَكَ فَلَا تَسْلُبْنِيْ
wani`amaka falā taslubnī
And of Your blessings, do not deprive me
241
وَإِلَى غَيْرِكَ فَلَا تَكِلْنِيْ
wa-ilā ghayrika falā takilnī
And to other than You, do not entrust me
242
إِلٰهِيْ إِلَى مَنْ تَكِلُنِيْ
ilāhī ilā man takilunī
My God, to whom would You entrust me?
243
إِلَى قَرِيبٍ فَيَقْطَعُنِيْ
ilā qarībin fayaqṭa`unī
To a relative who would cut me off?
244
أَمْ إِلَى بَعِيدٍ فَيَتَجَهَّمُنِيْ
am ilā ba`īdin fayatajahhamunī
Or to a stranger who would treat me harshly?
245
أَمْ إِلَى الْمُسْتَضْعِفِينَ لِيْ
am ilal mustaḍ`ifīna lī
Or to those who would consider me weak?
246
وَأَنْتَ رَبِّي وَمَلِيكُ أَمْرِيْ
wa-anta rabbī wamalīku amrī
While You are my Lord and the Master of my affairs
247
أَشْكُوْ إِلَيْكَ غُرْبَتِيْ وَبُعْدَ دَارِيْ
ashkū ilayka ghur-batī wabu`da dārī
I complain to You of my exile and the distance of my abode
248
وَهَوَانِيْ عَلَى مَنْ مَلَّكْتَهُ أَمْرِيْ
wahawānī `alā man mallaktahu amrī
And my insignificance before the one whom You have given power over me
249
إِلٰهِيْ فَلَا تُحْلِلْ عَلَيَّ غَضَبَكَ
ilāhī falā tuḥlil `alayya ghaḍabak
My God, do not send down upon me Your anger
250
فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ غَضِبْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَا أُبَالِيْ سِوَاكَ
fa-in lam takun ghaḍibta `alayya falā ubālī siwāk
If You are not angry with me, then I care not for anything else
251
سُبْحَانَكَ غَيْرَ أَنَّ عَافِيَتَكَ أَوْسَعُ لِيْ
subḥānaka ghayra anna `āfiyataka awsa`u lī
Glory be to You, but Your well-being is more expansive for me
252
فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ بِنُوْرِ وَجْهِكَ
fa-as-aluka yā rabbi binūri wajhik
So I ask You, O Lord, by the light of Your face
253
اَلَّذِيْ أَشْرَقَتْ لَهُ الْأَرْضُ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ
al ladhī ashraqat lahul ar-ḍu was samāwāt
By which the earth and heavens shine
254
وَكُشِفَتْ بِهِ الظُّلُمَاتُ
wakushifat bihiẓ ẓulumāt
And by which darknesses are dispelled
255
وَصَلُحَ بِهِ أَمْرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
waṣaluḥa bihi amrul awwalīna wal-ākhirīn
And by which the affairs of the first and the last are set right
256
أَنْ لَا تُمِيتَنِيْ عَلَى غَضَبِكَ
an lā tumītanī `alā ghaḍabik
That You do not cause me to die while You are angry with me
257
وَلَا تُنْزِلْ بِيْ سَخَطَكَ
walā tunzil bī sakhaṭak
And do not send down upon me Your wrath
258
لَكَ الْعُتْبىٰ لَكَ الْعُتْبىٰ
lakal `utbā lakal `utbā
The plea is Yours, the plea is Yours
259
حَتَّىٰ تَرْضىٰ قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ
ḥattā tar-ḍā qabla dhālik
Until You are pleased, before that
260
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
lā ilāha illā ant
There is no god but You
261
رَبَّ الْبَلَدِ الْحَرَامِ
rabbal baladil ḥarām
Lord of the Sacred Land
262
وَالْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ
walmash`aril ḥarām
And the Sacred Monument
263
وَالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ
walbaytil `atīq
And the Ancient House
264
اَلَّذِيْ أَحْلَلْتَهُ الْبَرَكَةَ
al ladhī aḥlaltahul barakah
Which You have filled with blessing
265
وَجَعَلْتَهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْنًا
waja`altahu linnāsi amnā
And made a place of security for people
266
يَا مَنْ عَفَا عَنْ عَظِيمِ الذُّنُوبِ بِحِلْمِهِ
yā man `afā `an `aẓīmidh dhunūbi biḥilmih
O He who pardons great sins by His clemency
267
يَا مَنْ أَسْبَغَ النَّعْمَاءَ بِفَضْلِهِ
yā man asbaghan na`mā-a bifaḍlih
O He who bestows blessings by His favor
268
يَا مَنْ أَعْطَى الْجَزِيلَ بِكَرَمِهِ
yā man a`ṭal jazīla bikaramih
O He who gives abundantly by His generosity
269
يَا عُدَّتِيْ فِيْ شِدَّتِيْ
yā `uddatī fī shiddatī
O my provision in my hardship
270
يَا صَاحِبِيْ فِيْ وَحْدَتِيْ
yā ṣāḥibī fī waḥdatī
O my companion in my solitude
271
يَا غِيَاثِيْ فِيْ كُرْبَتِيْ
yā ghiyāthī fī kur-batī
O my relief in my distress
272
يَا وَلِيِّى فِيْ نِعْمَتِيْ
yā waliyyī fī ni`matī
O my Guardian in my blessing
273
يَا إِلٰهِيْ وَإِلٰهَ آبَائِي
yā ilāhī wa-ilāha-ābā-ī
O my God and the God of my fathers
274
إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ
ibrāhīma wa-ismā`īl
Abraham and Ishmael
275
وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ
wa-is-ḥāqa waya`qūb
And Isaac and Jacob
276
وَرَبَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ
warabba jabra-īla wamīkā-īla wa-isrāfīl
And the Lord of Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil
277
وَرَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ
warabba muḥammadin khātamin nabiyyīn
And the Lord of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets
278
وَ آلِهِ الْمُنْتَجَبِينَ
wa ālihil muntajabīn
And his chosen family
279
وَمُنْزِلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ
wamunzilat tawrāti wal-injīl
And the Revealer of the Torah and the Gospel
280
وَالزَّبُورِ وَالْفُرْقَانِ
waz zabūri walfur-qān
And the Psalms and the Criterion
281
وَمُنَزِّلَ كهيعص وَ طٰهٰ وَ يٰس
wamunazzila kāf-hā-yā-`ain-ṣād wa ṭāhā wa yāsīn
And the Revealer of Kaf Ha Ya 'Ayn Sad and Ta Ha and Ya Sin
282
وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ
walqur-ānil ḥakīm
And the Wise Quran
283
أَنْتَ كَهْفِيْ حِينَ تُعْيِينِيْ الْمَذَاهِبُ فِيْ سَعَتِهَا
anta kahfī ḥīna tu`yīnil madhāhibu fī sa`atihā
You are my refuge when ways in their vastness weary me
284
وَتَضِيقُ بِيَ الْأَرْضُ بِرُحْبِهَا
wataḍīqu biyal ar-ḍu biruḥbihā
And the earth becomes narrow for me despite its breadth
285
وَلَوْلَا رَحْمَتُكَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ
walawlā raḥmatuka lakuntu minal hālikīn
And were it not for Your mercy, I would be among the perished
286
وَأَنْتَ مُقِيلُ عَثْرَتِيْ
wa-anta muqīlu `athratī
And You are the Forgiver of my lapse
287
وَلَوْلَا سَتْرُكَ إِيَّايَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمَفْضُوحِينَ
walawlā satruka iyyāya lakuntu minal mafḍūḥīn
And were it not for Your covering me, I would be among the disgraced
288
وَأَنْتَ مُؤَيِّدِيْ بِالنَّصْرِ عَلَى أَعْدَائِي
wa-anta mu-ayyidī binnaṣri `alā a`dā-ī
And You are my supporter with victory over my enemies
289
وَلَوْلَا نَصْرُكَ إِيَّايَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمَغْلُوبِينَ
walawlā naṣruka iyyāya lakuntu minal maghlūbīn
And were it not for Your help to me, I would be among the defeated
290
يَا مَنْ خَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِالسُّمُوِّ وَالرِّفْعَةِ
yā man khaṣṣa nafsahu bissumuwwi war rif`ah
O He who has distinguished Himself with loftiness and elevation
291
فَأَوْلِيَاؤُهُ بِعِزِّهِ يَعْتَزُّونَ
fa-awliya-uhu bi`izzihi ya`tazzūn
So His friends through His might find honor
292
يَا مَنْ جَعَلَتْ لَهُ الْمُلُوكُ نِيرَ الْمَذَلَّةِ عَلَى أَعْنَاقِهِمْ
yā man ja`alat lahul mulūku nīral madhallati `alā a`nāqihim
O He before whom kings place the yoke of humiliation on their necks
293
فَهُمْ مِنْ سَطَوَاتِهِ خَائِفُونَ
fahum min saṭawātihi khā-ifūn
For they are fearful of His assaults
294
يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِيْ الصُّدُوْرُ
ya`lamu khā-inatal a`yuni wamā tukhfiṣ ṣudūr
He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the chests conceal
295
وَغَيْبَ مَا تَأْتِيْ بِهِ الْأَزْمِنَةُ وَالدُّهُورُ
waghayba mā ta-tī bihil azminatu wad duhūr
And the unseen of what times and ages will bring
296
يَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ هُوَ إِلَّا هُوَ
yā man lā ya`lamu kayfa huwa illā huw
O He whom none knows how He is except Him
297
يَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا هُوَ
yā man lā ya`lamu mā huwa illā huw
O He whom none knows what He is except Him

يَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا هُوَ
yā man lā ya`lamuhu illā huw
O He whom none knows Him except Him

يَا مَنْ كَبَسَ الْأَرْضَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ
yā man kabasal ar-ḍa `alal mā
O He who pressed the earth upon the water
300
وَسَدَّ الْهَوَاءَ بِالسَّمَاءِ
wasaddal hawā-a bissamā
And blocked the air with the sky
301
يَا مَنْ لَهُ أَكْرَمُ الْأَسْمَاءِ
yā man lahu akramul asmā
O He who has the most noble names
302
يَا ذَا الْمَعْرُوفِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَنْقَطِعُ أَبَدًا
yā dhal ma`rūfil ladhī lā yanqaṭi`u abadā
O Possessor of favor which never ceases
303
يَا مُقَيِّضَ الرَّكْبِ لِيُوسُفَ فِيْ الْبَلَدِ الْقَفْرِ
yā muqayyiḍar rakbi liyūsufa fil baladil qafr
O He who appointed the caravan for Joseph in the barren land
304
وَمُخْرِجَهُ مِنَ الْجُبِّ
wamukhrijahu minal jubb
And brought him out from the well
305
وَجَاعِلَهُ بَعْدَ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ مَلِكًا
wajā`ilahu ba`dal `ubūdiyyati malikā
And made him, after slavery, a king
306
يَا رَادَّهُ عَلَى يَعْقُوبَ
yā rāddahu `alā ya`qūb
O He who returned him to Jacob
307
بَعْدَ أَنِ ابْيَضَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
ba`da anibyaḍḍat `aynāhu minal ḥuzni fahuwa kaẓīm
After his eyes had become white with grief and he was suppressing his sorrow
308
يَا كَاشِفَ الضُّرِّ وَالْبَلْوىٰ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ
yā kāshifaḍ ḍurri walbalwā `an ayyūb
O He who removed the distress and affliction from Job
309
وَمُمْسِكَ يَدَيْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ ذَبْحِ ابْنِهِ
wamumsika yaday ibrāhīma `an dhabḥibnih
And restrained the hands of Abraham from slaughtering his son
310
بَعْدَ كِبَرِ سِنِّهِ وَفَنَاءِ عُمُرِهِ
ba`da kibari sinnihi wafanā-i `umurih
After he had grown old and his life had passed
311
يَا مَنِ اسْتَجَابَ لِزَكَرِيَّا
yā manistajāba lizakariyyā
O He who answered Zachariah
312
فَوَهَبَ لَهُ يَحْيىٰ
fawahaba lahu yaḥyā
And granted him John
313
وَلَمْ يَدَعْهُ فَرْدًا وَحِيدًا
walam yada`hu far-dan waḥīdā
And did not leave him alone and solitary
314
يَا مَنْ أَخْرَجَ يُونُسَ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ
yā man akhraja yūnusa min baṭnil ḥūt
O He who brought forth Jonah from the belly of the whale
315
يَا مَنْ فَلَقَ الْبَحْرَ لِبَنِيْ إِسْرَائِيلَ
yā man falaqal baḥra libanī isrā-īl
O He who split the sea for the Children of Israel
316
فَأَنْجَاهُمْ وَجَعَلَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجُنُودَهُ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَ
fa-anjāhum waja`ala fir-`awna wajunūdahu minal mughraqīn
And saved them, and made Pharaoh and his troops among the drowned
317
يَا مَنْ أَرْسَلَ الرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرَاتٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ
yā man ar-salar riyāḥa mubashhirātin bayna yaday raḥmatih
O He who sent the winds as heralds in advance of His mercy
318
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَعْجَلْ عَلَى مَنْ عَصَاهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ
yā man lam ya`jal `alā man `aṣāhu min khalqih
O He who does not hasten against those of His creation who disobey Him
319
يَا مَنِ اسْتَنْقَذَ السَّحَرَةَ مِنْ بَعْدِ طُولِ الْجُحُودِ
yā manistanqadhas saḥarata min ba`di ṭūlil juḥūd
O He who rescued the sorcerers after their long denial
320
وَقَدْ غَدُوْا فِيْ نِعْمَتِهِ
waqad ghadū fī ni`matih
While they had lived in His blessing
321
يَأْكُلُونَ رِزْقَهُ وَيَعْبُدُوْنَ غَيْرَهُ
ya-kulūna rizqahu waya`budūna ghayrah
Eating His provision yet worshipping other than Him
322
وَقَدْ حَادُّوهُ وَنَادُّوهُ
waqad ḥāddūhu wanāddūh
And they had opposed Him and defied Him
323
وَكَذَّبُوْا رُسُلَهُ
wakadhhabū rusulah
And denied His messengers
324
يَا اَللَّهُ يَا اَللَّهُ يَا بَدِىءُ
yā allāhu yā allāhu yā badī
O Allah, O Allah, O Beginner
325
يَا بَدِيعُ لَا نِدَّ لَكَ
yā badī`u lā nidda lak
O Creator, You have no equal
326
يَا دَائِمًا لَا نَفَادَ لَكَ
yā dā-iman lā nafāda lak
O Everlasting, You have no end
327
يَا حَيًّا حِينَ لَا حَيَّ
yā ḥayyan ḥīna lā ḥayy
O Living when there was no living being
328
يَا مُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى
yā muḥyiyal mawtā
O Reviver of the dead
329
يَا مَنْ هُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ
yā man huwa qā-imun `alā kulli nafsin bimā kasabat
O He who stands over every soul for what it has earned
330
يَا مَنْ قَلَّ لَهُ شُكْرِيْ فَلَمْ يَحْرِمْنِيْ
yā man qalla lahu shukrī falam yaḥrimnī
O He to whom my thanks were few, yet He did not deprive me
331
وَعَظُمَتْ خَطِيئَتِيْ فَلَمْ يَفْضَحْنِيْ
wa`aẓumat khaṭī-atī falam yafḍaḥnī
And my errors were great, yet He did not expose me
332
وَرَأٰنِيْ عَلَى الْمَعَاصِيْ فَلَمْ يَشْهَرْنِيْ
wara-ānī `alal ma`āṣī falam yash-har-nī
And He saw me upon disobedience, yet He did not disgrace me
333
يَا مَنْ حَفِظَنِيْ فِيْ صِغَرِيْ
yā man ḥafiẓanī fī ṣigharī
O He who protected me in my childhood
334
يَا مَنْ رَزَقَنِيْ فِيْ كِبَرِيْ
yā man razaqanī fī kibarī
O He who provided for me in my old age
335
يَا مَنْ أَيَادِيهِ عِنْدِيْ لَا تُحْصَى
yā man ayādīhi `indī lā tuḥṣā
O He whose favors toward me cannot be counted
336
وَنِعَمُهُ لَا تُجَازَى
wani`amuhu lā tujāzā
And whose blessings cannot be repaid
337
يَا مَنْ عَارَضَنِيْ بِالْخَيْرِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ
yā man `āraḍanī bil khayri wal-iḥsān
O He who has met me with good and favor
338
وَعَارَضْتُهُ بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَالْعِصْيَانِ
wa`āraḍtuhu bil isā-ati wal`iṣyān
While I have met Him with evil and disobedience
339
يَا مَنْ هَدَانِيْ لِلْإِيمَانِ
yā man hadānī lil-īmān
O He who guided me to faith
340
مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ أَعْرِفَ شُكْرَ الَامْتِنَانِ
min qabli an a`rifa shukral amtinān
Before I knew gratitude for His favor
341
يَا مَنْ دَعَوْتُهُ مَرِيضًا فَشَفَانِيْ
yā man da`awtuhu marīḍan fashafānī
O He whom I called when sick and He healed me
342
وَعُرْيَانًا فَكَسَانِيْ
wa`ur-yānan fakasānī
And when naked and He clothed me
343
وَجَائِعًا فَأَشْبَعَنِيْ
wajā-i`an fa-ashba`anī
And when hungry and He satisfied me
344
وَعَطْشَانًا فَأَرْوَانِيْ
wa`aṭshānan fa-ar-wānī
And when thirsty and He quenched me
345
وَذَلِيلًا فَأَعَزَّنِيْ
wadhalīlan fa-a`azzanī
And when humiliated and He honored me
346
وَجَاهِلًا فَعَرَّفَنِيْ
wajāhilan fa`arrafanī
And when ignorant and He taught me
347
وَوَحِيدًا فَكَثَّرَنِيْ
wawaḥīdan fakathharanī
And when alone and He multiplied me
348
وَغَائِبًا فَرَدَّنِيْ
waghā-iban faraddanī
And when absent and He returned me
349
وَمُقِلًّا فَأَغْنَانِيْ
wamuqillan fa-aghnānī
And when poor and He enriched me
350
وَمُنْتَصِرًا فَنَصَرَنِيْ
wamuntaṣiran fanaṣaranī
And when seeking victory and He helped me
351
وَغَنِيًّا فَلَمْ يَسْلُبْنِيْ
waghaniyyan falam yaslubnī
And when rich and He did not deprive me
352
وَأَمْسَكْتُ عَنْ جَمِيعِ ذٰلِكَ فَابْتَدَأَنِيْ
wa-amsaktu `an jamī`i dhālika fabtada-anī
And when I held back from all of that, He initiated it for me
353
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالشُّكْرُ
falakal ḥamdu wash shukr
So to You belong all praise and thanks
354
يَا مَنْ أَقَالَ عَثْرَتِيْ
yā man aqāla `athratī
O He who pardoned my lapses
355
وَنَفَّسَ كُرْبَتِيْ
wanaffasa kur-batī
And relieved my distress
356
وَأَجَابَ دَعْوَتِيْ
wa-ajāba da`watī
And answered my prayer
357
وَسَتَرَ عَوْرَتِيْ
wasatara `awratī
And covered my faults
358
وَغَفَرَ ذُنُوبِيْ
waghafara dhunūbī
And forgave my sins
359
وَبَلَّغَنِيْ طَلِبَتِيْ
waballaghanī ṭalibatī
And fulfilled my request
360
وَنَصَرَنِيْ عَلَى عَدُوِّي
wanaṣaranī `alā `aduwwī
And helped me against my enemy
361
وَإِنْ أَعُدَّ نِعَمَكَ وَمِنَنَكَ
wa-in a`udda ni`amaka waminanak
And if I were to count Your blessings and favors
362
وَكَرَائِمَ مِنَحِكَ لَا أُحْصِيهَا
wakarā-ima minaḥika lā uḥṣīhā
And Your generous gifts, I could not enumerate them
363
يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ مَنَنْتَ
yā mawlāya antal ladhī manant
O my Master, You are the One who bestowed
364
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَنْعَمْتَ
antal ladhī an`amt
You are the One who blessed
365
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَحْسَنْتَ
antal ladhī aḥsant
You are the One who did good
366
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَجْمَلْتَ
antal ladhī ajmalt
You are the One who was gracious
367
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَفْضَلْتَ
antal ladhī afḍalt
You are the One who excelled
368
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَكْمَلْتَ
antal ladhī akmalt
You are the One who perfected
369
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ رَزَقْتَ
antal ladhī razaqt
You are the One who provided
370
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ وَفَّقْتَ
antal ladhī waffaqt
You are the One who gave success
371
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَعْطَيْتَ
antal ladhī a`ṭayt
You are the One who gave
372
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَغْنَيْتَ
antal ladhī aghnayt
You are the One who enriched
373
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَقْنَيْتَ
antal ladhī aqnayt
You are the One who satisfied
374
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ آوَيْتَ
antal ladhī-āwayt
You are the One who sheltered
375
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ كَفَيْتَ
antal ladhī kafayt
You are the One who sufficed
376
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ هَدَيْتَ
antal ladhī hadayt
You are the One who guided
377
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ عَصَمْتَ
antal ladhī `aṣamt
You are the One who protected
378
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ سَتَرْتَ
antal ladhī satar-t
You are the One who covered
379
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ غَفَرْتَ
antal ladhī ghafar-t
You are the One who forgave
380
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَقَلْتَ
antal ladhī aqalt
You are the One who overlooked
381
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ مَكَّنْتَ
antal ladhī makkant
You are the One who established
382
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَعْزَزْتَ
antal ladhī a`zazt
You are the One who exalted
383
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَعَنْتَ
antal ladhī a`ant
You are the One who helped
384
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ عَضَدْتَ
antal ladhī `aḍadt
You are the One who supported
385
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَيَّدْتَ
antal ladhī ayyadt
You are the One who confirmed
386
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ نَصَرْتَ
antal ladhī naṣar-t
You are the One who aided
387
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ شَفَيْتَ
antal ladhī shafayt
You are the One who healed
388
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ عَافَيْتَ
antal ladhī `āfayt
You are the One who gave well-being
389
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَكْرَمْتَ
antal ladhī akramt
You are the One who honored
390
تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ
tabārakta wata`ālayt
Blessed are You and Exalted
391
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ دَائِمًا
falakal ḥamdu dā-imā
So to You belongs praise perpetually
392
وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ وَاصِبًا أَبَدًا
walakash shukru wāṣiban abadā
And to You belongs thanks continuously and forever
393
ثُمَّ أَنَا يَا إِلٰهِيَ الْمُعْتَرِفُ بِذُنُوبِيْ
thumma ana yā ilāhiyal mu`tarifu bidhunūbī
Then I, my God, am the one who acknowledges my sins

فَاغْفِرْهَا لِيْ
faghfir-hā lī
So forgive them for me
395
أَنَا الَّذِيْ أَسَأْتُ
anal ladhī asa-t
I am the one who did wrong
396
أَنَا الَّذِيْ أَخْطَأْتُ
anal ladhī akhṭa-t
I am the one who made mistakes
397
أَنَا الَّذِيْ هَمَمْتُ
anal ladhī hamamt
I am the one who had evil intentions
398
أَنَا الَّذِيْ جَهِلْتُ
anal ladhī jahilt
I am the one who was ignorant
399
أَنَا الَّذِيْ غَفَلْتُ
anal ladhī ghafalt
I am the one who was heedless
400
أَنَا الَّذِيْ سَهَوْتُ
anal ladhī sahawt
I am the one who was negligent
401
أَنَا الَّذِيْ اعْتَمَدْتُ
anal ladhi`tamadt
I am the one who relied on other than You
402
أَنَا الَّذِيْ تَعَمَّدْتُ
anal ladhī ta`ammadt
I am the one who deliberately disobeyed
403
أَنَا الَّذِيْ وَعَدْتُ
anal ladhī wa`adt
I am the one who promised
404
وَأَنَا الَّذِيْ أَخْلَفْتُ
wa-anal ladhī akhlaft
And I am the one who failed to fulfill
405
أَنَا الَّذِيْ نَكَثْتُ
anal ladhī nakatht
I am the one who broke my pledge
406
أَنَا الَّذِيْ أَقْرَرْتُ
anal ladhī aqrar-t
I am the one who confessed
407
أَنَا الَّذِيْ اعْتَرَفْتُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَعِنْدِيْ
anal ladhi`taraftu bini`matika `alayya wa`indī
I am the one who acknowledges Your blessings upon me and with me
408
وَأَبُوءُ بِذُنُوبِيْ فَاغْفِرْهَا لِيْ
wa-abū-u bidhunūbī faghfir-hā lī
And I acknowledge my sins, so forgive them for me
409
يَا مَنْ لَا تَضُرُّهُ ذُنُوبُ عِبَادِهِ
yā man lā taḍurruhu dhunūbu `ibādih
O He whom the sins of His servants do not harm
410
وَهُوَ الْغَنِيُّ عَنْ طَاعَتِهِمْ
wahuwal ghaniyyu `an ṭā`atihim
And who is independent of their obedience
411
وَالْمُوَفِّقُ مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِنْهُمْ
walmuwaffiqu man `amila ṣāliḥan minhum
And who grants success to those among them who work righteousness
412
بِمَعُونَتِهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
bima`ūnatihi waraḥmatih
By His help and His mercy
413
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ إِلٰهِيْ وَسَيِّدِيْ
falakal ḥamdu ilāhī wasayyidī
So to You belongs all praise, my God and my Master
414
إِلٰهِيْ أَمَرْتَنِيْ فَعَصَيْتُكَ
ilāhī amar-tanī fa`aṣaytuk
My God, You commanded me and I disobeyed You
415
وَنَهَيْتَنِيْ فَارْتَكَبْتُ نَهْيَكَ
wanahaytanī far-takabtu nahyak
And You forbade me and I committed what You forbade
416
فَأَصْبَحْتُ لَا ذَا بَرَاءَةٍ لِيْ فَأَعْتَذِرُ
fa-aṣbaḥtu lā dhā barā-atin lī fa-a`tadhir
So I became such that I have no excuse to offer
417
وَلَا ذَا قُوَّةٍ فَأَنْتَصِرُ
walā dhā quwwatin fa-antaṣir
And no power to prevail
418
فَبِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ أَسْتَقْبِلُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ
fabi-ayyi shay-in astaqbiluka yā mawlāy
So with what shall I face You, O my Master?
419
أَبِسَمْعِيْ أَمْ بِبَصَرِيْ
abisam`ī am bibaṣarī
With my hearing, or my sight
420
أَمْ بِلِسَانِيْ أَمْ بِيَدِيْ أَمْ بِرِجْلِيْ
am bilisānī am biyadī am birijlī
Or my tongue, or my hand, or my foot?
421
أَلَيْسَ كُلُّهَا نِعَمَكَ عِنْدِيْ
alaysa kulluhā ni`amaka `indī
Are not all of these Your blessings upon me?
422
وَبِكُلِّهَا عَصَيْتُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ
wabikullihā `aṣaytuka yā mawlāy
And with all of them I have disobeyed You, O my Master
423
فَلَكَ الْحُجَّةُ وَالسَّبِيلُ عَلَيَّ
falakal ḥujjatu was sabīlu `alayy
So Yours is the proof and the way against me
424
يَا مَنْ سَتَرَنِيْ مِنَ الْآبَاءِ وَالْأُمَّهَاتِ أَنْ يَزْجُرُونِيْ
yā man sataranī minal-ābā-i wal-ummahāti an yazjurūnī
O He who has concealed me from fathers and mothers lest they drive me away
425
وَمِنَ الْعَشَائِرِ وَالْإِخْوَانِ أَنْ يُعَيِّرُونِيْ
waminal `ashā-iri wal-ikhwāni an yu`ayyirūnī
And from relatives and brothers lest they rebuke me
426
وَمِنَ السَّلاطِينِ أَنْ يُعَاقِبُونِيْ
waminas salāṭīni an yu`āqibūnī
And from rulers lest they punish me
427
وَلَوِ اطَّلَعُوْا يَا مَوْلاَيَ
walawiṭṭala`ū yā mawlāy
And had they seen, O my Master
428
عَلىٰ مَا اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنِّي
`alā māṭṭala`ta `alayhi minnī
What You have seen from me
429
إِذًا مَا أَنْظَرُونِيْ
idhan mā anẓarūnī
They would not have given me respite
430
وَلَرَفَضُونِيْ وَقَطَعُونِيْ
walarafaḍūnī waqaṭa`ūnī
And would have abandoned me and cut me off
431
فَهَا أَنَا ذَا يَا إِلٰهِيْ
fahā ana dhā yā ilāhī
So here I am, my God
432
بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدِيْ
bayna yadayka yā sayyidī
Before You, O my Master
433
خَاضِعٌ ذَلِيلٌ
khāḍi`un dhalīl
Submissive, humbled
434
حَصِيرٌ حَقِيرٌ
ḥaṣīrun ḥaqīr
Constrained, contemptible
435
لَا ذُوْ بَرَاءَةٍ فَأَعْتَذِرُ
lā dhū barā-atin fa-a`tadhir
Possessing no excuse to offer
436
وَلَا ذُوْ قُوَّةٍ فَأَنْتَصِرُ
walā dhū quwwatin fa-antaṣir
And no power to prevail
437
وَلَا حُجَّةٍ فَأَحْتَجَّ بِهَا
walā ḥujjatin fa-aḥtajja bihā
And no argument to present
438
وَلَا قَائِلٌ لَمْ أَجْتَرِحْ وَلَمْ أَعْمَلْ سُوءًا
walā qā-ilun lam ajtariḥ walam a`mal sū-ā
And not saying I have not sinned nor committed wrongs
439
وَمَا عَسَى الْجُحُودُ وَلَوْ جَحَدْتُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَنْفَعُنِيْ
wamā `asal juḥūdu walaw jaḥadtu yā mawlāya yanfa`unī
And how could denial benefit me if I were to deny, O my Master?
440
كَيْفَ وَأَنَّىٰ ذٰلِكَ
kayfa wa-annā dhālik
How and in what way?
441
وَجَوَارِحِيْ كُلُّهَا شَاهِدَةٌ عَلَيَّ بِمَا قَدْ عَمِلْتُ
wajawāriḥī kulluhā shāhidatun `alayya bimā qad `amilt
When all my limbs are witnesses to what I have done
442
وَعَلِمْتُ يَقِينًا غَيْرَ ذِيْ شَكٍّ
wa`alimtu yaqīnan ghayra dhī shakk
And I know with certainty, beyond any doubt
443
أَنَّكَ سَائِلِيْ مِنْ عَظَائِمِ الْأُمُورِ
annaka sā-ilī min `aẓā-imil umūr
That You will question me about great matters
444
وَأَنَّكَ الْحَكَمُ الْعَدْلُ الَّذِيْ لَا تَجُورُ
wa-annakal ḥakamul `adlul ladhī lā tajūr
And that You are the Just Judge who does not wrong
445
وَعَدْلُكَ مُهْلِكِيْ
wa`adluka muhlikī
And Your justice is my destruction
446
وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَدْلِكَ مَهْرَبِيْ
wamin kulli `adlika mahrabī
And from every instance of Your justice is my escape
447
فَإِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ
fa-in tu`adhhibnī yā ilāhī
So if You punish me, my God
448
فَبِذُنُوبِيْ بَعْدَ حُجَّتِكَ عَلَيَّ
fabidhunūbī ba`da ḥujjatika `alayy
It is for my sins after Your proof against me
449
وَإِنْ تَعْفُ عَنِّي
wa-in ta`fu `annī
And if You pardon me
450
فَبِحِلْمِكَ وَجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
fabiḥilmika wajūdika wakaramik
It is by Your clemency, generosity, and kindness
451
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
452
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
innī kuntu minaẓ ẓālimīn
Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers
453
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
454
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ
innī kuntu minal mustaghfirīn
Indeed, I have been among those who seek forgiveness
455
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
456
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُوَحِّدِيْنَ
innī kuntu minal muwaḥḥidīn
Indeed, I have been among those who profess Your Oneness
457
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
458
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْخَائِفِينَ
innī kuntu minal khā-ifīn
Indeed, I have been among the fearful
459
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
460
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْوَجِلِينَ
innī kuntu minal wajilīn
Indeed, I have been among the apprehensive
461
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
462
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الرَّاجِينَ
innī kuntu minar rājīn
Indeed, I have been among the hopeful
463
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
464
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الرَّاغِبِينَ
innī kuntu minar rāghibīn
Indeed, I have been among those who desire
465
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
466
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُهَلِّلِينَ
innī kuntu minal muhallilīn
Indeed, I have been among those who say "There is no god but Allah"
467
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
468
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ السَّائِلِينَ
innī kuntu minas sā-ilīn
Indeed, I have been among those who ask
469
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
470
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ
innī kuntu minal musabbiḥīn
Indeed, I have been among those who glorify
471
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
472
إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُكَبِّرِينَ
innī kuntu minal mukabbirīn
Indeed, I have been among those who proclaim Your greatness
473
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
lā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, glory be to You
474
رَبِّي وَرَبُّ آبَائِيَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
rabbī warabbu-ābā-iyal awwalīn
My Lord and the Lord of my forefathers
475
اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذَا ثَنَائِي عَلَيْكَ مُمَجِّدًا
allāhumma hādhā thanā-ī `alayka mumajjidā
O Allah, this is my praise of You, glorifying You
476
وَإِخْلاَصِيْ لِذِكْرِكَ مُوَحِّدًا
wa-ikhlāṣī lidhikrika muwaḥḥidā
And my sincerity in remembering You, professing Your Oneness
477
وَإِقْرَارِيْ بِآلاَئِكَ مُعَدِّدًا
wa-iqrārī bi-ālā-ika mu`addidā
And my acknowledgment of Your favors, enumerating them
478
وَإِنْ كُنْتُ مُقِرًّا أَنِّيْ لَمْ أُحْصِهَا
wa-in kuntu muqirran annī lam uḥṣihā
Even though I confess that I cannot enumerate them
479
لِكَثْرَتِهَا وَسُبُوغِهَا
likathratihā wasubūghihā
Due to their abundance and lavishness
480
وَتَظَاهُرِهَا وَتَقَادُمِهَا إِلَى حَادِثٍ مَا
wataẓāhurihā wataqādumihā ilā ḥādithin mā
And their continuity and succession from the beginning of time
481
لَمْ تَزَلْ تَتَعَهَّدُنِيْ بِهِ مَعَهَا
lam tazal tata`ahhadunī bihi ma`ahā
You have always cared for me with them
482
مُنْذُ خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَبَرَأْتَنِيْ
mundhu khalaqtanī wabara-tanī
Since You created me and brought me into being
483
مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْعُمْرِ
min awwalil `umr
From the beginning of my life
484
مِنَ الْإِغْنَاءِ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ
minal ighnā-i minal faqr
With freedom from poverty
485
وَكَشْفِ الضُّرِّ
wakashfiḍ ḍurr
And removal of hardship
486
وَتَسْبِيبِ الْيُسْرِ
watasbībil yusr
And providing ease
487
وَدَفْعِ الْعُسْرِ
wadaf`il `usr
And repelling difficulty
488
وَتَفْرِيجِ الْكَرْبِ
watafrījil kar-b
And relieving affliction
489
وَالْعَافِيَةِ فِيْ الْبَدَنِ
wal`āfiyati fil badan
And well-being in body
490
وَالسَّلامَةِ فِيْ الدِّينِ
was salāmati fid dīn
And soundness in religion
491
وَلَوْ رَفَدَنِيْ عَلَى قَدْرِ ذِكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ جَمِيعُ الْعَالَمِينَ
walaw rafadanī `alā qadri dhikri ni`matika jamī`ul `ālamīn
And if all the world were to help me to the extent of Your remembrance's blessing, all creation could not do so
492
مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
minal awwalīna wal-ākhirīn
From the first to the last
493
مَا قَدَرْتُ وَلَا هُمْ عَلَى ذٰلِكَ
mā qadar-tu walā hum `alā dhālik
Neither I nor they would be able to do that
494
تَقَدَّسْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ
taqaddasta wata`ālayt
Holy are You and Exalted
495
مِنْ رَبٍّ كَرِيمٍ عَظِيمٍ رَحِيمٍ
min rabbin karīmin `aẓīmin raḥīm
A Generous, Magnificent, Merciful Lord
496
لَا تُحْصىٰ آلاَؤُكَ
lā tuḥṣā-ālā-uk
Your favors cannot be enumerated
497
وَلَا يُبْلَغُ ثَنَاؤُكَ
walā yublaghu thana-uk
And Your praise cannot be achieved
498
وَلَا تُكَافىٰ نَعْمَاؤُكَ
walā tukāfā na`ma-uk
And Your blessings cannot be repaid
499
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
500
وَأَتْمِمْ عَلَيْنَا نِعَمَكَ
wa-atmim `alaynā ni`amak
And complete upon us Your blessings
501
وَأَسْعِدْنَا بِطَاعَتِكَ
wa-as`idnā biṭā`atik
And make us happy through obedience to You
502
سُبْحَانَكَ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
subḥānaka lā ilāha illā ant
Glory be to You, there is no god but You
503
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ
allāhumma innaka tujībul muḍṭarr
O Allah, You answer the distressed one
504
وَتَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ
watakshifus sū
And remove evil
505
وَتُغِيثُ الْمَكْرُوبَ
watughīthul makrūb
And help the troubled
506
وَتَشْفِيْ السَّقِيمَ
watashfis saqīm
And heal the sick
507
وَتُغْنِيْ الْفَقِيرَ
watughnil faqīr
And enrich the poor
508
وَتَجْبُرُ الْكَسِيرَ
watajburul kasīr
And mend the broken
509
وَتَرْحَمُ الصَّغِيرَ
watar-ḥamuṣ ṣaghīr
And have mercy on the young
510
وَتُعِينُ الْكَبِيرَ
watu`īnul kabīr
And help the old
511
وَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ ظَهِيرٌ
walaysa dūnaka ẓahīr
And there is no supporter besides You
512
وَلَا فَوْقَكَ قَدِيرٌ
walā fawqaka qadīr
And none above You in power
513
وَأَنْتَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ
wa-antal `aliyyul kabīr
And You are the Most High, the Greatest
514
يَا مُطْلِقَ الْمُكَبَّلِ الْأَسِيرِ
yā muṭliqal mukabbalil asīr
O Liberator of the shackled prisoner
515
يَا رَازِقَ الطِّفْلِ الصَّغِيرِ
yā rāziqaṭ ṭifliṣ ṣaghīr
O Provider for the small child
516
يَا عِصْمَةَ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ
yā `iṣmatal khā-ifil mustajīr
O Protection of the fearful seeker of refuge
517
يَا مَنْ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَلَا وَزِيرَ
yā man lā sharīka lahu walā wazīr
O He who has no partner and no assistant
518
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
519
وَأَعْطِنِيْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ
wa-a`ṭinī fī hādhihil `ashiyyah
And give me in this evening
520
أَفْضَلَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَأَنَلْتَ
afḍala mā a`ṭayta wa-analt
The best of what You have given and bestowed
521
أَحَدًا مِنْ عِبَادِكَ
aḥadan min `ibādik
Upon any of Your servants
522
مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُولِيهَا
min ni`matin tūlīhā
Of a blessing You grant
523
وَ آلَاءٍ تُجَدِّدُهَا
wa ālā-in tujaddiduhā
And favors You renew
524
وَبَلِيَّةٍ تَصْرِفُهَا
wabaliyyatin taṣrifuhā
And a tribulation You avert
525
وَكُرْبَةٍ تَكْشِفُهَا
wakur-batin takshifuhā
And a distress You remove
526
وَدَعْوَةٍ تَسْمَعُهَا
wada`watin tasma`uhā
And a supplication You hear
527
وَحَسَنَةٍ تَتَقَبَّلُهَا
waḥasanatin tataqabbaluhā
And a good deed You accept
528
وَسَيِّئَةٍ تَتَغَمَّدُهَا
wasayyi-atin tataghammaduhā
And an evil deed You overlook
529
إِنَّكَ لَطِيفٌ بِمَا تَشَاءُ خَبِيرٌ
innaka laṭīfun bimā tashā-u khabīr
Indeed, You are Aware of what You will, All-Knowing
530
وَعَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
wa`alā kulli shay-in qadīr
And have power over all things
531
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَقْرَبُ مَنْ دُعِيَ
allāhumma innaka aqrabu man du`iy
O Allah, You are the nearest of those who are called
532
وَأَسْرَعُ مَنْ أَجَابَ
wa-asra`u man ajāb
And the quickest of those who answer
533
وَأَكْرَمُ مَنْ عَفَا
wa-akramu man `afā
And the most generous of those who pardon
534
وَأَوْسَعُ مَنْ أَعْطىٰ
wa-awsa`u man a`ṭā
And the most liberal of those who give
535
وَأَسْمَعُ مَنْ سُئِلَ
wa-asma`u man su-il
And the most hearing of those who are asked
536
يَا رَحْمٰنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيمَهُمَا
yā raḥmānad dunyā wal-ākhirati waraḥīmahumā
O Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter and their Compassionate One
537
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِكَ مَسْؤُولٌ
laysa kamithlika mas-ūl
None like You is asked
538
وَلَا سِوَاكَ مَأْمُولٌ
walā siwāka ma-mūl
And none but You is hoped for
539
دَعَوْتُكَ فَأَجَبْتَنِيْ
da`awtuka fa-ajabtanī
I called upon You and You answered me
540
وَسَأَلْتُكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَنِيْ
wasa-altuka fa-a`ṭaytanī
And I asked You and You gave me
541
وَرَغِبْتُ إِلَيْكَ فَرَحِمْتَنِيْ
waraghibtu ilayka faraḥimtanī
And I desired You and You had mercy on me
542
وَوَثِقْتُ بِكَ فَنَجَّيْتَنِيْ
wawathiqtu bika fanajjaytanī
And I trusted in You and You delivered me
543
وَفَزِعْتُ إِلَيْكَ فَكَفَيْتَنِيْ
wafazi`tu ilayka fakafaytanī
And I sought refuge in You and You sufficed me
544
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma faṣalli `alā muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad
545
عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَنَبِيِّكَ
`abdika warasūlika wanabiyyik
Your servant, Your messenger, and Your prophet
546
وَعَلىٰ آلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ
wa`alā-ālihiṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīna ajma`īn
And upon his pure and purified family, all of them
547
وَتَمِّمْ لَنَا نَعْمَاءَكَ
watammim lanā na`mā-ak
And complete for us Your blessings
548
وَهَنِّئْنَا عَطَاءَكَ
wahanni-nā `aṭā-ak
And make us enjoy Your gifts
549
وَاكْتُبْنَا لَكَ شَاكِرِينَ
waktubnā laka shākirīn
And write us down as among the thankful to You
550
وَلِآلاَئِكَ ذَاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika dhākirīn
And the rememberers of Your favors
551
آمِينَ آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
āmīna-āmīna rabbal `ālamīn
Amen, amen, O Lord of the worlds
552
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا مَنْ مَلَكَ فَقَدَرَ
allāhumma yā man malaka faqadar
O Allah, O He who owns and then controls
553
وَ قَدَرَ فَقَهَرَ
wa qadara faqahar
And controls and then subdues
554
وَ عُصِيَ فَسَتَرَ
wa `uṣiya fasatar
And is disobeyed yet covers
555
وَاسْتُغْفِرَ فَغَفَرَ
wastughfira faghafar
And is asked for forgiveness, so He forgives
556
يَا غَايَةَ الطَّالِبِينَ الرَّاغِبِينَ
yā ghāyataṭ ṭālibīnar rāghibīn
O Goal of those who seek and desire
557
وَ مُنْتَهَى أَمَلِ الرَّاجِينَ
wa muntahā amalir rājīn
And Ultimate Hope of those who hope
558
يَا مَنْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا
yā man aḥāṭa bikulli shay-in `ilmā
O He who has encompassed everything in knowledge
559
وَ وَسِعَ الْمُسْتَقِيلِينَ رَأْفَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَحِلْمًا
wa wasi`al mustaqīlīna ra-fatan waraḥmatan waḥilmā
And has shown the penitent kindness, mercy, and forbearance
560
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّا نَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ
allāhumma innā natawajjahu ilayka fī hādhihil `ashiyyah
O Allah, we turn to You in this evening
561
اَلَّتِيْ شَرَّفْتَهَا وَعَظَّمْتَهَا
al latī sharraftahā wa`aẓẓamtahā
Which You have honored and glorified
562
بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
bimuḥammadin nabiyyika warasūlik
Through Muhammad, Your prophet and messenger
563
وَ خِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa khiyaratika min khalqik
And Your chosen one from Your creation
564
وَ أَمِينِكَ عَلَى وَحْيِكَ
wa amīnika `alā waḥyik
And Your trustee over Your revelation
565
اَلْبَشِيرِ النَّذِيرِ
al bashīrin nadhīr
The bearer of good news, the warner
566
اَلسِّرَاجِ الْمُنِيرِ
as sirājil munīr
The luminous lamp
567
اَلَّذِيْ أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ
al ladhī an`amta bihi `alal muslimīn
With whom You blessed the Muslims
568
وَجَعَلْتَهُ رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
waja`altahu raḥmatan lil`ālamīn
And whom You made a mercy to the worlds
569
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
570
كَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ أَهْلٌ لِذٰلِكَ مِنْكَ يَا عَظِيمُ
kamā muḥammadun ahlun lidhālika minka yā `aẓīm
Just as Muhammad is worthy of that from You, O Magnificent
571
فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلىٰ آلِهِ
faṣalli `alayhi wa`alā-ālih
So send blessings upon him and upon his family
572
اَلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ
al muntajabīnaṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīna ajma`īn
The chosen, pure, and purified ones, all of them
573
وَتَغَمَّدْنَا بِعَفْوِكَ عَنَّا
wataghammadnā bi`afwika `annā
And envelop us with Your pardon of us
574
فَإِلَيْكَ عَجَّتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ بِصُنُوفِ اللُّغَاتِ
fa-ilayka `ajjatil aṣwātu biṣunūfil lughāt
For to You voices have risen with diverse languages
575
فَاجْعَلْ لَنَا اللَّهُمَّ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ
faj`al lanallāhumma fī hādhihil `ashiyyah
So appoint for us, O Allah, in this evening
576
نَصِيبًا مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ تَقْسِمُهُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ
naṣīban min kulli khayrin taqsimuhu bayna `ibādik
A share of every good that You distribute among Your servants
577
وَنُورٍ تَهْدِيْ بِهِ
wanūrin tahdī bih
And light by which You guide
578
وَرَحْمَةٍ تَنْشُرُهَا
waraḥmatin tanshuruhā
And mercy which You spread
579
وَبَرَكَةٍ تُنْزِلُهَا
wabarakatin tunziluhā
And blessing which You send down
580
وَعَافِيَةٍ تُجَلِّلُهَا
wa`āfiyatin tujalliluhā
And well-being which You clothe
581
وَرِزْقٍ تَبْسُطُهُ
warizqin tabsuṭuh
And provision which You extend
582
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
583
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَقْلِبْنَا فِيْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ
allāhumma aqlibnā fī hādhal waqt
O Allah, turn us in this time
584
مُنْجِحِينَ مُفْلِحِينَ
munjiḥīna mufliḥīn
Successful, prosperous
585
مَبْرُورِينَ غَانِمِينَ
mabrūrīna ghānimīn
Blessed, and gaining
586
وَلَا تَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الْقَانِطِينَ
walā taj`alnā minal qāniṭīn
And do not make us among the despairing
587
وَلَا تُخْلِنَا مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
walā tukhlinā min raḥmatik
And do not empty us of Your mercy
588
وَلَا تَحْرِمْنَا مَا نُؤَمِّلُهُ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
walā taḥrimnā mā nu-ammiluhu min faḍlik
And do not deprive us of what we hope for from Your bounty
589
وَلَا تَجْعَلْنَا مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ مَحْرُومِينَ
walā taj`alnā min raḥmatika maḥrūmīn
And do not make us deprived of Your mercy
590
وَلَا لِفَضْلِ مَا نُؤَمِّلُهُ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ قَانِطِينَ
walā lifaḍli mā nu-ammiluhu min `aṭā-ika qāniṭīn
And not despairing of the bounty we hope for from Your giving
591
وَلَا تَرُدَّنَا خَائِبِينَ
walā taruddanā khā-ibīn
And do not turn us away disappointed
592
وَلَا مِنْ بَابِكَ مَطْرُوْدِيْنَ
walā min bābika maṭrūdīn
And not expelled from Your door
593
يَا أَجْوَدَ الْأَجْوَدِيْنَ
yā ajwadal ajwadīn
O Most Generous of the generous
594
وَأَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ
wa-akramal akramīn
And Most Generous of the noble
595
إِلَيْكَ أَقْبَلْنَا مُوقِنِينَ
ilayka aqbalnā mūqinīn
To You we have come with certainty
596
وَلِبَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ آمِّينَ قَاصِدِيْنَ
walibaytikal ḥarāmi-āmmīna qāṣidīn
And to Your Sacred House we have come, visiting with purpose
597
فَأَعِنَّا عَلَى مَنَاسِكِنَا
fa-a`innā `alā manāsikinā
So help us with our rituals
598
وَأَكْمِلْ لَنَا حَجَّنَا
wa-akmil lanā ḥajjanā
And perfect for us our pilgrimage
599
وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَعَافِنَا
wa`fu `annā wa`āfinā
And pardon us and grant us well-being
600
فَقَدْ مَدَدْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَيْدِيَنَا
faqad madadnā ilayka aydiyanā
For we have extended to You our hands
601
فَهِيَ بِذِلَّةِ الَاعْتِرَافِ مَوْسُومَةٌ
fahiya bidhillatil a`tirāfi mawsūmah
And they are branded with the mark of humble admission
602
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَأَعْطِنَا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ مَا سَأَلْنَاكَ
allāhumma fa-a`ṭinā fī hādhihil `ashiyyati mā sa-alnāk
O Allah, give us in this evening what we have asked of You
603
وَاكْفِنَا مَا اسْتَكْفَيْنَاكَ
wakfinā mastakfaynāk
And spare us from what we have sought Your protection against
604
فَلَا كَافِيَ لَنَا سِوَاكَ
falā kāfiya lanā siwāk
For we have no protector besides You
605
وَلَا رَبَّ لَنَا غَيْرُكَ
walā rabba lanā ghayruk
And no lord for us other than You
606
نَافِذٌ فِينَا حُكْمُكَ
nāfidhun fīnā ḥukmuk
Your command operates upon us
607
مُحِيطٌ بِنَا عِلْمُكَ
muḥīṭun binā `ilmuk
Your knowledge encompasses us
608
عَدْلٌ فِينَا قَضَاؤُكَ
`adlun fīnā qaḍa-uk
Your judgment concerning us is just
609
اِقْضِ لَنَا الْخَيْرَ
iqḍi lanal khayr
Decree for us good
610
وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْخَيْرِ
waj`alnā min ahlil khayr
And make us among the people of good
611
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَوْجِبْ لَنَا بِجُودِكَ عَظِيمَ الْأَجْرِ
allāhumma awjib lanā bijūdika `aẓīmal ajr
O Allah, assign to us by Your generosity a great reward
612
وَكَرِيمَ الذُّخْرِ
wakarīmadh dhukhr
And a noble treasure
613
وَدَوَامَ الْيُسْرِ
wadawāmal yusr
And lasting ease
614
وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا أَجْمَعِينَ
waghfir lanā dhunūbanā ajma`īn
And forgive us all our sins
615
وَلَا تُهْلِكْنَا مَعَ الْهَالِكِينَ
walā tuhliknā ma`al hālikīn
And do not destroy us along with those who perish
616
وَلَا تَصْرِفْ عَنَّا رَأْفَتَكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ
walā taṣrif `annā ra-fataka waraḥmatak
And do not turn away from us Your kindness and mercy
617
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
618
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا فِيْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ مِمَّنْ سَأَلَكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَهُ
allāhummaj`alnā fī hādhal waqti mimman sa-alaka fa-a`ṭaytah
O Allah, make us in this time among those who asked You and You gave them
619
وَشَكَرَكَ فَزِدْتَهُ
washakaraka fazidtah
And thanked You and You increased them
620
وَثَابَ إِلَيْكَ فَقَبِلْتَهُ
wathāba ilayka faqabiltah
And turned to You and You accepted them
621
وَتَنَصَّلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كُلِّهَا فَغَفَرْتَهَا لَهُ
watanaṣṣala ilayka min dhunūbihi kullihā faghafar-tahā lah
And renounced all their sins before You and You forgave them
622
يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
yā dhal jalāli wal-ikrām
O Possessor of Majesty and Honor
623
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَنَقِّنَا وَسَدِّدْنَا
allāhumma wanaqqinā wasaddidnā
O Allah, purify us and make us upright
624
وَاقْبَلْ تَضَرُّعَنَا
waqbal taḍarru`anā
And accept our humble entreaty
625
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ
yā khayra man su-il
O Best of those who are asked
626
وَيَا أَرْحَمَ مَنِ اسْتُرْحِمَ
wayā ar-ḥama manistur-ḥim
And Most Merciful of those from whom mercy is sought
627
يَا مَنْ لَا يَخْفىٰ عَلَيْهِ إِغْمَاضُ الْجُفُونِ
yā man lā yakhfā `alayhi ighmāḍul jufūn
O He from whom the closing of eyelids is not hidden
628
وَلَا لَحْظُ الْعُيُونِ
walā laḥẓul `uyūn
Nor the glance of eyes
629
وَلَا مَا اسْتَقَرَّ فِيْ الْمَكْنُونِ
walā mastaqarra fil maknūn
Nor what rests in the concealed
630
وَلَا مَا انْطَوَتْ عَلَيْهِ مُضْمَرَاتُ الْقُلُوبِ
walā manṭawat `alayhi muḍmarātul qulūb
Nor what is enfolded in the secrets of hearts
631
أَلَا كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ قَدْ أَحْصَاهُ عِلْمُكَ
alā kullu dhālika qad aḥṣāhu `ilmuk
Verily, all of that Your knowledge has enumerated
632
وَوَسِعَهُ حِلْمُكَ
wawasi`ahu ḥilmuk
And Your forbearance has encompassed
633
سُبْحَانَكَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ عَمَّا يَقُولُ الظَّالِمُوْنَ
subḥānaka wata`ālayta `ammā yaqūluẓ ẓālimūn
Glory be to You and Exalted are You above what the wrongdoers say
634
عُلُوًّا كَبِيْرًا
`uluwwan kabīrā
With great exaltation
635
تُسَبِّحُ لَكَ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ
tusabbiḥu lakas samāwātus sab`
The seven heavens glorify You
636
وَالْأَرَضُونَ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ
wal-araḍūna waman fīhinn
And the earths and whoever is in them
637
وَإِنْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ
wa-in min shay-in illā yusabbiḥu biḥamdik
And there is nothing but glorifies You with praise
638
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالْمَجْدُ
falakal ḥamdu walmajd
So to You belongs praise and glory
639
وَعُلُوُّ الْجَدِّ
wa`uluwwul jadd
And the exaltation of majesty
640
يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
yā dhal jalāli wal-ikrām
O Possessor of Majesty and Honor
641
وَالْفَضْلِ وَالْإِنْعَامِ
walfaḍli wal-in`ām
And Bounty and Blessing
642
وَالْأَيَادِيْ الْجِسَامِ
wal-ayādil jisām
And Mighty Favors
643
وَأَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ الْكَرِيمُ
wa-antal jawādul karīm
And You are the Generous, the Noble
644
اَلرَّؤُوفُ الرَّحِيمُ
ar ra-ūfur raḥīm
The Kind, the Merciful
645
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلالِ
allāhumma awsi` `alayya min rizqikal ḥalāl
O Allah, grant me abundantly from Your lawful provision
646
وَعَافِنِيْ فِيْ بَدَنِيْ وَدِينِيْ
wa`āfinī fī badanī wadīnī
And grant me well-being in my body and my religion
647
وَ آمِنْ خَوْفِيْ
wa āmin khawfī
And make my fear secure
648
وَأَعْتِقْ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
wa-a`tiq raqabatī minan nār
And free my neck from the Fire
649
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَمْكُرْ بِيْ
allāhumma lā tamkur bī
O Allah, do not scheme against me
650
وَلَا تَسْتَدْرِجْنِيْ
walā tastadrijnī
And do not lead me on gradually
651
وَلَا تَخْدَعْنِيْ
walā takhda`nī
And do not deceive me
652
وَادْرَأْ عَنِّيْ شَرَّ فَسَقَةِ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ
wadra-`annī sharra fasaqatil jinni wal-ins
And drive away from me the evil of the corrupt among jinn and men
Imam al-Husayn [peace be upon him] then raised his head and sight to the sky with teary eyes and said with an audible voice
653
يَا أَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِينَ
yā asma`as sāmi`īn
O Most Hearing of those who hear
654
يَا أَبْصَرَ النَّاظِرِينَ
yā abṣaran nāẓirīn
O Most Seeing of those who see
655
وَيَا أَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِينَ
wayā asra`al ḥāsibīn
O Swiftest of those who reckon
656
وَيَا أَرحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
wayā arḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
657
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
658
اَلسَّادَةِ الْمَيَامِينِ
as sādatil mayāmīn
The chiefs, the blessed ones
659
وَأَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ حَاجَتِيَ
wa-as-alukallāhumma ḥājatiy
And I ask You, O Allah, for my need
660
اَلَّتِيْ إِنْ أَعْطَيْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَضُرَّنِيْ مَا مَنَعْتَنِيْ
al latī in a`ṭaytanīhā lam yaḍurranī mā mana`tanī
Which if You grant me, what You withhold will not harm me
661
وَإِنْ مَنَعْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَنْفَعْنِيْ مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِيْ
wa-in mana`tanīhā lam yanfa`nī mā a`ṭaytanī
And which if You withhold from me, what You grant will not benefit me
662
أَسْأَلُكَ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
as-aluka fakāka raqabatī minan nār
I ask You for freedom of my neck from the Fire
663
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
lā ilāha illā ant
There is no god but You
664
وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ
waḥdaka lā sharīka lak
Alone, with no partner
665
لَكَ الْمُلْكُ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ
lakal mulku walakal ḥamd
To You belongs the kingdom and to You belongs praise
666
وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
wa-anta `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
And You have power over all things
667
يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ...
yā rabbi yā rabbi...
O Lord, O Lord...
Imam al-Husayn [peace be upon him] then repeated ya-rabbi so frequently and effectively that he attracted the attentions of all the others who, instead of praying for granting their needs, surrounded Imam al-Husayn [peace be upon him] to listen to him and pray for the response of his supplication. Then, they wept with him. At sunset, they left Mount `Arafat with him.
This is the end of Imam al-Husayn’s supplicatory prayer on the `Arafat Day according to the narrations of al-Kaf`ami in his book of al-Balad al-Amin and `Allamah al-Majlisi in his book of Zad al-Ma`ad. As for Sayyid Ibn Tawus, he, in his book of Iqbal al-A`mal, adds the following statements to the supplicatory prayer .However its attribution to Imam Hussain[as] may not be appropriate
668
إِلٰهِيْ أَنَا الْفَقِيرُ فِيْ غِنَايَ
ilāhī anal faqīru fī ghināy
My God, I am poor in my wealth
669
فَكَيْفَ لَا أَكُونُ فَقِيرًا فِيْ فَقْرِيْ
fakayfa lā akūnu faqīran fī faqrī
So how could I not be poor in my poverty?
670
إِلٰهِيْ أَنَا الْجَاهِلُ فِيْ عِلْمِيْ
ilāhī anal jāhilu fī `ilmī
My God, I am ignorant in my knowledge
671
فَكَيْفَ لَا أَكُونُ جَهُولًا فِيْ جَهْلِيْ
fakayfa lā akūnu jahūlan fī jahlī
So how could I not be more ignorant in my ignorance?
672
إِلٰهِيْ إِنَّ اخْتِلافَ تَدْبِيرِكَ
ilāhī innakhtilāfa tadbīrik
My God, the diversity of Your administration
673
وَسُرْعَةَ طَوَاءِ مَقَادِيرِكَ
wasur-`ata ṭawā-i maqādīrik
And the speed with which destinies change
674
مَنَعَا عِبَادَكَ الْعَارِفِينَ بِكَ
mana`ā `ibādakal `ārifīna bik
Have prevented Your knowing servants
675
عَنِ السُّكُونِ إِلَى عَطَاءٍ
`anis sukūni ilā `aṭa
From being still in a gift
676
وَالْيَأْسِ مِنْكَ فِيْ بَلاءٍ
walya-si minka fī bala
Or despairing of You in a trial
677
إِلٰهِيْ مِنِّي مَا يَلِيقُ بِلُؤْمِيْ
ilāhī minnī mā yalīqu bilu-mī
My God, from me is what befits my baseness
678
وَمِنْكَ مَا يَلِيقُ بِكَرَمِكَ
waminka mā yalīqu bikaramik
And from You is what befits Your generosity
679
إِلٰهِيْ وَصَفْتَ نَفْسَكَ بِاللُّطْفِ وَالرَّأْفَةِ لِيْ
ilāhī waṣafta nafsaka billluṭfi war ra-fati lī
My God, You have described Yourself with kindness and compassion for me
680
قَبْلَ وُجُودِ ضَعْفِيْ
qabla wujūdi ḍa`fī
Before the existence of my weakness
681
أَفَتَمْنَعُنِيْ مِنْهُمَا بَعْدَ وُجُودِ ضَعْفِيْ
afatamna`unī minhumā ba`da wujūdi ḍa`fī
So will You withhold them from me after the existence of my weakness?
682
إِلٰهِيْ إِنْ ظَهَرَتِ الْمَحَاسِنُ مِنِّي
ilāhī in ẓaharatil maḥāsinu minnī
My God, if good qualities appear from me
683
فَبِفَضْلِكَ وَلَكَ الْمِنَّةُ عَلَيَّ
fabifaḍlika walakal minnatu `alayy
They are by Your favor, and to You belongs the gratitude for them
684
وَإِنْ ظَهَرَتِ الْمَسَاوِئُ مِنِّي
wa-in ẓaharatil masāwi-u minnī
And if bad qualities appear from me
685
فَبِعَدْلِكَ وَلَكَ الْحُجَّةُ عَلَيَّ
fabi`adlika walakal ḥujjatu `alayy
They are by Your justice, and to You belongs the proof against me
686
إِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ تَكِلُنِيْ وَقَدْ تَكَفَّلْتَ لِيْ
ilāhī kayfa takilunī waqad takaffalta lī
My God, how could You abandon me when You have guaranteed my care?
687
وَكَيْفَ أُضَامُ وَأَنْتَ النَّاصِرُ لِيْ
wakayfa uḍāmu wa-antan nāṣiru lī
And how could I be oppressed when You are my helper?
688
أَمْ كَيْفَ أَخِيبُ وَأَنْتَ الْحَفِيُّ بِيْ
am kayfa akhību wa-antal ḥafiyyu bī
Or how could I be disappointed when You show care for me?
689
هَا أَنَا أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِفَقْرِيْ إِلَيْكَ
hā ana atawassalu ilayka bifaqrī ilayk
Here I am beseeching You through my poverty to You
690
وَكَيْفَ أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ
wakayfa atawassalu ilayk
But how can I beseech You
691
بِمَا هُوَ مَحَالٌ أَنْ يَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ
bimā huwa maḥālun an yaṣila ilayk
With what is impossible to reach You?
692
أَمْ كَيْفَ أَشْكُوْ إِلَيْكَ حَالِيْ
am kayfa ashkū ilayka ḥālī
Or how can I complain to You of my state
693
وَهُوَ لَا يَخْفىٰ عَلَيْكَ
wahuwa lā yakhfā `alayk
When it is not hidden from You?
694
أَمْ كَيْفَ أُتَرْجِمُ بِمَقَالِيْ
am kayfa utar-jimu bimaqālī
Or how can I translate with my words
695
وَهُوَ مِنْكَ بَرَزٌ إِلَيْكَ
wahuwa minka barazun ilayk
When they are from You, proceeding to You?
696
أَمْ كَيْفَ تُخَيِّبُ آمَالِيْ
am kayfa tukhayyibu-āmālī
Or how can my hopes be disappointed
697
وَهِيَ قَدْ وَفَدَتْ إِلَيْكَ
wahiya qad wafadat ilayk
When they have come to You?
698
أَمْ كَيْفَ لَا تُحْسِنُ أَحْوَالِيْ
am kayfa lā tuḥsinu aḥwālī
Or how can my condition not be improved
699
وَبِكَ قَامَتْ
wabika qāmat
When it rests with You?
700
إِلٰهِيْ مَا أَلْطَفَكَ بِيْ
ilāhī mā alṭafaka bī
My God, how gentle You are to me
701
مَعَ عَظِيمِ جَهْلِيْ
ma`a `aẓīmi jahlī
Despite my great ignorance
702
وَمَا أَرْحَمَكَ بِيْ
wamā ar-ḥamaka bī
And how merciful You are to me
703
مَعَ قَبِيحِ فِعْلِيْ
ma`a qabīḥi fi`lī
Despite my ugly deeds
704
إِلٰهِيْ مَا أَقْرَبَكَ مِنِّي
ilāhī mā aqrabaka minnī
My God, how near You are to me
705
وَأَبْعَدَنِيْ عَنْكَ
wa-ab`adanī `ank
Yet how far I am from You
706
وَمَا أَرْأَفَكَ بِيْ
wamā ar-afaka bī
And how kind You are to me
707
فَمَا الَّذِيْ يَحْجُبُنِيْ عَنْكَ
famal ladhī yaḥjubunī `ank
So what is it that veils me from You?
708
إِلٰهِيْ عَلِمْتُ بِاخْتِلافِ الْآثَارِ
ilāhī `alimtu bikhtilāfil-āthār
My God, I have learned from the variations of circumstances
709
وَتَنَقُّلاتِ الْأَطْوَارِ
watanaqqulātil aṭwār
And changes of phases
710
أَنَّ مُرَادَكَ مِنِّي أَنْ تَتَعَرَّفَ إِلَيَّ فِيْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
anna murādaka minnī an tata`arrafa ilayya fī kulli shay
That Your purpose for me is to make Yourself known to me in everything
711
حَتَّىٰ لَا أَجْهَلَكَ فِيْ شَيْءٍ
ḥattā lā ajhalaka fī shay
So that I do not remain ignorant of You in anything
712
إِلٰهِيْ كُلَّمَا أَخْرَسَنِيْ لُؤْمِيْ
ilāhī kullamā akhrasanī lu-mī
My God, whenever my baseness silences me
713
أَنْطَقَنِيْ كَرَمُكَ
anṭaqanī karamuk
Your generosity gives me voice
714
وَكُلَّمَا آيَسَتْنِيْ أَوْصَافِيْ
wakullamā-āyasatnī awṣāfī
And whenever my qualities make me despair
715
أَطْمَعَتْنِيْ مِنَنُكَ
aṭma`atnī minanuk
Your favors give me hope
716
إِلٰهِيْ مَنْ كَانَتْ مَحَاسِنُهُ مَسَاوِئَ
ilāhī man kānat maḥāsinuhu masāwi
My God, one whose good deeds are actually bad
717
فَكَيْفَ لَا تَكُوْنُ مَسَاوِيِهِ مَسَاوِئَ
fakayfa lā takūnu masāwiyihi masāwi
How can his bad deeds not be bad?
718
وَمَنْ كَانَتْ حَقَائِقُهُ دَعَاوِيَ
waman kānat ḥaqā-iquhu da`āwiy
And one whose truths are really claims
719
فَكَيْفَ لَا تَكُوْنُ دَعَاوِيِهِ دَعَاوِيَ
fakayfa lā takūnu da`āwiyihi da`āwiy
How can his claims not be claims?
720
إِلٰهِيْ حُكْمُكَ النَّافِذُ وَمَشِيئَتُكَ الْقَاهِرَةُ
ilāhī ḥukmukan nāfidhu wamashī-atukal qāhirah
My God, Your decisive command and Your irresistible will
721
لَمْ يَتْرُكَا لِذِيْ مَقَالٍ مَقَالًا
lam yatrukā lidhī maqālin maqālā
Have not left for the possessor of an argument any argument
722
وَلَا لِذِيْ حَالٍ حَالًا
walā lidhī ḥālin ḥālā
Nor for the possessor of a state any state
723
إِلٰهِيْ كَمْ مِنْ طَاعَةٍ بَنَيْتُهَا
ilāhī kam min ṭā`atin banaytuhā
My God, how many acts of obedience I have built
724
وَحَالَةٍ شَيَّدْتُهَا
waḥālatin shayyadtuhā
And states I have erected
725
هَدَمَ اعْتِمَادِيْ عَلَيْهَا عَدْلُكَ
hadama`timādī `alayhā `adluk
Your justice has demolished my reliance on them
726
بَلْ أَقَالَنِيْ مِنْهَا فَضْلُكَ
bal aqālanī minhā faḍluk
Rather, Your bounty has dismissed me from them
727
إِلٰهِيْ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ
ilāhī innaka ta`lam
My God, You know that
728
أَنِّي وَإِنْ لَمْ تَدُمِ الطَّاعَةُ مِنِّي فِعْلًا جَزْمًا
annī wa-in lam tadumiṭ ṭā`atu minnī fi`lan jazmā
Although my obedience may not last in action with determination
729
فَقَدْ دَامَتْ مَحَبَّةً وَعَزْمًا
faqad dāmat maḥabbatan wa`azmā
It has lasted in love and resolve
730
إِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ أَعْزِمُ وَأَنْتَ الْقَاهِرُ
ilāhī kayfa a`zimu wa-antal qāhir
My God, how can I determine when You are the Compeller?
731
وَكَيْفَ لَا أَعْزِمُ وَأَنْتَ الْآمِرُ
wakayfa lā a`zimu wa-antal-āmir
And how can I not determine when You are the Commander?
732
إِلٰهِيْ تَرَدُّدِيْ فِيْ الْآثَارِ
ilāhī taraddudī fil-āthār
My God, my hesitation among the effects
733
يُوجِبُ بُعْدَ الْمَزَارِ
yūjibu bu`dal mazār
Requires distance in the visitation
734
فَاجْمَعْنِيْ عَلَيْكَ بِخِدْمَةٍ تُوصِلُنِيْ إِلَيْكَ
fajma`nī `alayka bikhidmatin tūṣilunī ilayk
So gather me to You with a service that brings me to You
735
كَيْفَ يُسْتَدَلُّ عَلَيْكَ بِمَا هُوَ فِيْ وُجُودِهِ مُفْتَقِرٌ إِلَيْكَ
kayfa yustadallu `alayka bimā huwa fī wujūdihi muftaqirun ilayk
How can something that depends on You for its existence be used as proof for You?
736
أَيَكُونُ لِغَيْرِكَ مِنَ الظُّهُورِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ
ayakūnu lighayrika minaẓ ẓuhūri mā laysa lak
Does other than You have a manifestation that You lack
737
حَتَّىٰ يَكُونَ هُوَ الْمُظْهِرَ لَكَ
ḥattā yakūna huwal muẓhira lak
So that it could be the one to manifest You?
738
مَتىٰ غِبْتَ حَتَّىٰ تَحْتَاجَ إِلَى دَلِيلٍ يَدُلُّ عَلَيْكَ
matā ghibta ḥattā taḥtāja ilā dalīlin yadullu `alayk
When were You absent that You would need evidence to lead to You?
739
وَمَتىٰ بَعُدْتَ حَتَّىٰ تَكُونَ الْآثَارُ هِيَ الَّتِيْ تُوصِلُ إِلَيْكَ
wamatā ba`udta ḥattā takūnal-āthāru hiyal latī tūṣilu ilayk
And when were You distant that effects would be the ones to reach You?
740
عَمِيَتْ عَيْنٌ لَا تَرَاكَ عَلَيْهَا رَقِيبًا
`amiyat `aynun lā tarāka `alayhā raqībā
Blind is the eye that does not see You watching over it
741
وَخَسِرَتْ صَفْقَةُ عَبْدٍ لَمْ تَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ حُبِّكَ نَصِيبًا
wakhasirat ṣafqatu `abdin lam taj`al lahu min ḥubbika naṣībā
And at a loss is the deal of a servant who has not received from Your love a portion
742
إِلٰهِيْ أَمَرْتَ بِالرُّجُوعِ إِلَى الْآثَارِ
ilāhī amar-ta birrujū`i ilal-āthār
My God, You have commanded returning to the effects
743
فَأَرْجِعْنِيْ إِلَيْكَ بِكِسْوَةِ الْأَنْوَارِ
fa-ar-ji`nī ilayka bikiswatil anwār
So return me to You with the garment of lights
744
وَهِدَايَةِ الْإِسْتِبْصَارِ
wahidāyatil istibṣār
And the guidance of insight
745
حَتَّىٰ أَرْجِعَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا كَمَا دَخَلْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا
ḥattā ar-ji`a ilayka minhā kamā dakhaltu ilayka minhā
So that I may return to You from them as I entered to You from them
746
مَصُونَ السِّرِّ عَنِ النَّظَرِ إِلَيْهَا
maṣūnas sirri `anin naẓari ilayhā
With the secret protected from looking at them
747
وَمَرْفُوعَ الْهِمَّةِ عَنِ الَاعْتِمَادِ عَلَيْهَا
wamar-fū`al himmati `anil a`timādi `alayhā
And the aspiration raised above relying on them
748
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
innaka `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
Indeed, You have power over all things
749
إِلٰهِيْ هٰذَا ذُلِّى ظَاهِرٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
ilāhī hādhā dhullī ẓāhirun bayna yadayk
My God, this is my lowliness manifest before You
750
وَهٰذَا حَالِيْ لَا يَخْفىٰ عَلَيْكَ
wahādhā ḥālī lā yakhfā `alayk
And this is my state not hidden from You
751
مِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ الْوُصُولَ إِلَيْكَ
minka aṭlubul wuṣūla ilayk
From You I seek arrival to You
752
وَبِكَ أَسْتَدِلُّ عَلَيْكَ
wabika astadillu `alayk
And by You I seek guidance to You
753
فَاهْدِنِيْ بِنُوْرِكَ إِلَيْكَ
fahdinī binūrika ilayk
So guide me by Your light to You
754
وَأَقِمْنِيْ بِصِدْقِ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
wa-aqimnī biṣidqil `ubūdiyyati bayna yadayk
And establish me with the true servitude before You
755
إِلٰهِيْ عَلِّمْنِيْ مِنْ عِلْمِكَ الْمَخْزُونِ
ilāhī `allimnī min `ilmikal makhzūn
My God, teach me from Your hidden knowledge
756
وَصُنِّي بِسِتْرِكَ الْمَصُونِ
waṣunnī bisitrikal maṣūn
And preserve me with Your guarded covering
757
إِلٰهِيْ حَقِّقْنِيْ بِحَقَائِقِ أَهْلِ الْقُرْبِ
ilāhī ḥaqqiqnī biḥaqā-iqi ahlil qur-b
My God, realize me with the realities of the people of nearness
758
وَاسْلُكْ بِيْ مَسْلَكَ أَهْلِ الْجَذْبِ
wasluk bī maslaka ahlil jadhb
And make me travel the path of the people of attraction
759
إِلٰهِيْ أَغْنِنِيْ بِتَدْبِيرِكَ لِيْ عَنْ تَدْبِيرِيْ
ilāhī aghninī bitadbīrika lī `an tadbīrī
My God, make me independent by Your planning for me from my planning
760
وَبِاخْتِيَارِكَ عَنْ اِخْتِيَارِيْ
wabikhtiyārika `an ikhtiyārī
And by Your choice rather than my choice
761
وَأَوْقِفْنِيْ عَلَى مَرَاكِزِ اضْطِرَارِيْ
wa-awqifnī `alā marākiziḍṭirārī
And establish me at the points of my necessity
762
إِلٰهِيْ أَخْرِجْنِيْ مِنْ ذُلِّ نَفْسِيْ
ilāhī akhrijnī min dhulli nafsī
My God, take me out from the humiliation of my self
763
وَطَهِّرْنِيْ مِنْ شَكِّي وَشِرْكِيْ
waṭahhir-nī min shakkī washir-kī
And purify me from my doubt and my polytheism
764
قَبْلَ حُلُولِ رَمْسِيْ
qabla ḥulūli ramsī
Before my entry into the grave
765
بِكَ أَنْتَصِرُ فَانْصُرْنِيْ
bika antaṣiru fanṣur-nī
By You I seek victory, so grant me victory
766
وَعَلَيْكَ أَتَوَكَّلُ فَلَا تَكِلْنِيْ
wa`alayka atawakkalu falā takilnī
And upon You I rely, so do not entrust me to other than You
767
وَإِيَّاكَ أَسْأَلُ فَلَا تُخَيِّبْنِيْ
wa-iyyāka as-alu falā tukhayyibnī
And You I ask, so do not disappoint me
768
وَفِيْ فَضْلِكَ أَرْغَبُ فَلَا تَحْرِمْنِيْ
wafī faḍlika ar-ghabu falā taḥrimnī
And in Your bounty I desire, so do not deprive me
769
وَبِجَنَابِكَ أَنْتَسِبُ فَلَا تُبْعِدْنِيْ
wabijanābika antasibu falā tub`idnī
And to Your side I seek to belong, so do not distance me
770
وَبِبَابِكَ أَقِفُ فَلَا تَطْرُدْنِيْ
wabibābika aqifu falā taṭrudnī
And at Your door I stand, so do not drive me away
771
إِلٰهِيْ تَقَدَّسَ رِضَاكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ عِلَّةٌ مِنْكَ
ilāhī taqaddasa riḍāka an yakūna lahu `illatun mink
My God, Your pleasure is too holy to have a cause from You
772
فَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ لَهُ عِلَّةٌ مِنِّي
fakayfa yakūnu lahu `illatun minnī
So how could it have a cause from me?
773
إِلٰهِيْ أَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ بِذَاتِكَ أَنْ يَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ النَّفْعُ مِنْكَ
ilāhī antal ghaniyyu bidhātika an yaṣila ilaykan naf`u mink
My God, You are the Self-Sufficient in Your Essence that benefit should reach You from Yourself
774
فَكَيْفَ لَا تَكُونُ غَنِيًّا عَنِّي
fakayfa lā takūnu ghaniyyan `annī
So how could You not be self-sufficient from me?
775
إِلٰهِيْ إِنَّ الْقَضَاءَ وَالْقَدَرَ يُمَنِّينِيْ
ilāhī innal qaḍā-a walqadara yumannīnī
My God, destiny and fate cause me to hope
776
وَإِنَّ الْهَوىٰ بِوَثَائِقِ الشَّهْوَةِ أَسَرَنِيْ
wa-innal hawā biwathā-iqish shahwati asaranī
While desire has chained me with the bonds of passion
777
فَكُنْ أَنْتَ النَّصِيرَ لِيْ
fakun antan naṣīra lī
So be my helper
778
حَتَّىٰ تَنْصُرَنِيْ وَتُبَصِّرَنِيْ
ḥattā tanṣuranī watubaṣṣiranī
That You may help me and give me insight
779
وَأَغْنِنِيْ بِفَضْلِكَ
wa-aghninī bifaḍlik
And make me independent through Your bounty
780
حَتَّىٰ أَسْتَغْنِيَ بِكَ عَنْ طَلَبِيْ
ḥattā astaghniya bika `an ṭalabī
Until I can dispense with my asking
781
أَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَشْرَقْتَ الْأَنْوَارَ فِيْ قُلُوبِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ
antal ladhī ashraqtal anwāra fī qulūbi awliyā-ik
You are the One who has illuminated the lights in the hearts of Your friends
782
حَتَّىٰ عَرَفُوكَ وَوَحَّدُوكَ
ḥattā `arafūka wawaḥḥadūk
Until they knew You and affirmed Your Oneness
783
وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَزَلْتَ الْأَغْيَارَ عَنْ قُلُوبِ أَحِبَّائِكَ
wa-antal ladhī azaltal aghyāra `an qulūbi aḥibbā-ik
And You are the One who removed the others from the hearts of Your lovers
784
حَتَّىٰ لَمْ يُحِبُّوْا سِوَاكَ
ḥattā lam yuḥibbū siwāk
So that they loved none but You
785
وَلَمْ يَلْجَأُوْا إِلَى غَيْرِكَ
walam yalja-ū ilā ghayrik
And sought no refuge except in You
786
أَنْتَ الْمُؤْنِسُ لَهُمْ
antal mu-nisu lahum
You are their companion
787
حَيْثُ أَوْحَشَتْهُمُ الْعَوَالِمُ
ḥaythu awḥashat-humul `awālim
When the worlds have made them feel lonely
788
وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ هَدَيْتَهُمْ
wa-antal ladhī hadaytahum
And You are the One who guided them
789
حَيْثُ اسْتَبَانَتْ لَهُمُ الْمَعَالِمُ
ḥaythustabānat lahumul ma`ālim
When the signposts became clear to them
790
مَاذَا وَجَدَ مَنْ فَقَدَكَ
mādhā wajada man faqadak
What has he found who has lost You?
791
وَمَا الَّذِيْ فَقَدَ مَنْ وَجَدَكَ
wamal ladhī faqada man wajadak
And what has he lost who has found You?
792
لَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ رَضِيَ دُونَكَ بَدَلًا
laqad khāba man raḍiya dūnaka badalā
Truly at a loss is he who is satisfied with a substitute for You
793
وَلَقَدْ خَسِرَ مَنْ بَغىٰ عَنْكَ مُتَحَوِّلًا
walaqad khasira man baghā `anka mutaḥawwilā
And truly deprived is he who seeks to turn away from You
794
كَيْفَ يُرْجىٰ سِوَاكَ
kayfa yur-jā siwāk
How could one hope for other than You
795
وَأَنْتَ مَا قَطَعْتَ الْإِحْسَانَ
wa-anta mā qaṭa`tal iḥsān
When You have never ceased Your beneficence?
796
وَكَيْفَ يُطْلَبُ مِنْ غَيْرِكَ
wakayfa yuṭlabu min ghayrik
And how could one ask from other than You
797
وَأَنْتَ مَا بَدَّلْتَ عَادَةَ الَامْتِنَانِ
wa-anta mā baddalta `ādatal amtinān
When You have never changed Your habit of generosity?
798
يَا مَنْ أَذَاقَ أَحِبَّاءَهُ حَلاوَةَ الْمُؤانَسَةِ
yā man adhāqa aḥibbā-ahu ḥalāwatal mu-nasah
O He who has let His beloved ones taste the sweetness of His intimacy
799
فَقَامُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُتَمَلِّقِينَ
faqāmū bayna yadayhi mutamalliqīn
So they stood before Him, seeking to please Him
800
وَيَا مَنْ أَلْبَسَ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ مَلابِسَ هَيْبَتِهِ
wayā man albasa awliyā-ahu malābisa haybatih
And O He who has clothed His friends with the garments of His awe
801
فَقَامُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُسْتَغْفِرِينَ
faqāmū bayna yadayhi mustaghfirīn
So they stood before Him, seeking forgiveness
802
أَنْتَ الذَّاكِرُ قَبْلَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
antadh dhākiru qabladh dhākirīn
You are the Rememberer before the rememberers
803
وَأَنْتَ الْبَادِئُ بِالْإِحْسَانِ قَبْلَ تَوَجُّهِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ
wa-antal bādi-u bil iḥsāni qabla tawajjuhil `ābidīn
And You are the Initiator of beneficence before the turning of the worshippers
804
وَأَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ بِالْعَطَاءِ قَبْلَ طَلَبِ الطَّالِبِينَ
wa-antal jawādu bil `aṭā-i qabla ṭalabiṭ ṭālibīn
And You are the Generous in giving before the request of the seekers
805
وَأَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ ثُمَّ لِمَا وَهَبْتَ لَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْتَقْرِضِينَ
wa-antal wahhābu thumma limā wahabta lanā minal mustaqriḍīn
And You are the Bestower, then a Requester from us of what You have bestowed upon us
806
إِلٰهِيْ اِطْلُبْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ حَتَّىٰ أَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ
ilāhī iṭlubnī biraḥmatika ḥattā aṣila ilayk
My God, seek me with Your mercy until I reach You
807
وَاجْذِبْنِيْ بِمَنِّكَ حَتَّىٰ أُقْبِلَ عَلَيْكَ
wajdhibnī bimannika ḥattā uqbila `alayk
And attract me by Your favor until I come to You
808
إِلٰهِيْ إِنَّ رَجَائِي لَا يَنْقَطِعُ عَنْكَ وَإِنْ عَصَيْتُكَ
ilāhī inna rajā-ī lā yanqaṭi`u `anka wa-in `aṣaytuk
My God, my hope does not cease from You even if I disobey You
809
كَمَا أَنَّ خَوْفِيْ لَا يُزَايِلُنِيْ وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُكَ
kamā anna khawfī lā yuzāyilunī wa-in aṭa`tuk
Just as my fear does not leave me even if I obey You
810
فَقَدْ دَفَعَتْنِيْ الْعَوَالِمُ إِلَيْكَ
faqad dafa`atnil `awālimu ilayk
The worlds have driven me to You
811
وَقَدْ أَوْقَعَنِيْ عِلْمِيْ بِكَرَمِكَ عَلَيْكَ
waqad awqa`anī `ilmī bikaramika `alayk
And my knowledge of Your generosity has directed me to You
812
إِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ أَخِيبُ وَأَنْتَ أَمَلِيْ
ilāhī kayfa akhību wa-anta amalī
My God, how could I be disappointed when You are my hope?
813
أَمْ كَيْفَ أُهَانُ وَعَلَيْكَ مُتَّكَلِيْ
am kayfa uhānu wa`alayka muttakalī
Or how could I be humiliated when upon You is my reliance?
814
إِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ أَسْتَعِزُّ وَفِيْ الذِّلَّةِ أَرْكَزْتَنِيْ
ilāhī kayfa asta`izzu wafidh dhillati ar-kaztanī
My God, how could I seek honor when You have placed me in humility?
815
أَمْ كَيْفَ لَا أَسْتَعِزُّ وَإِلَيْكَ نَسَبْتَنِيْ
am kayfa lā asta`izzu wa-ilayka nasabtanī
Or how could I not seek honor when to You have You attributed me?
816
إِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ لَا أَفْتَقِرُ وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ فِيْ الْفُقَرَاءِ أَقَمْتَنِيْ
ilāhī kayfa lā aftaqiru wa-antal ladhī fil fuqarā-i aqamtanī
My God, how could I not be poor when You have placed me among the poor?
817
أَمْ كَيْفَ أَفْتَقِرُ وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ بِجُودِكَ أَغْنَيْتَنِيْ
am kayfa aftaqiru wa-antal ladhī bijūdika aghnaytanī
Or how could I be poor when with Your generosity You have enriched me?
818
وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ لَا إِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ
wa-antal ladhī lā ilāha ghayruk
And You are the One besides whom there is no god
819
تَعَرَّفْتَ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَمَا جَهِلَكَ شَيْءٌ
ta`arrafta likulli shay-in famā jahilaka shay
You have made Yourself known to everything, so nothing is ignorant of You
820
وَأَنْتَ الَّذِيْ تَعَرَّفْتَ إِلَيَّ فِيْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
wa-antal ladhī ta`arrafta ilayya fī kulli shay
And You have made Yourself known to me in everything
821
فَرَأَيْتُكَ ظَاهِرًا فِيْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
fara-aytuka ẓāhiran fī kulli shay
So I see You manifest in everything
822
وَأَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ
wa-antaẓ ẓāhiru likulli shay
And You are the Manifest to everything
823
يَا مَنِ اسْتَوىٰ بِرَحْمَانِيَّتِهِ
yā manistawā biraḥmāniyyatih
O He who has established Himself by His mercy
824
فَصَارَ الْعَرْشُ غَيْبًا فِيْ ذَاتِهِ
faṣāral `ar-shu ghayban fī dhātih
So the Throne became hidden in His essence
825
مَحَقْتَ الْآثَارَ بِالْآثَارِ
maḥaqtal-āthāra bil-āthār
You have effaced the traces with the traces
826
وَمَحَوْتَ الْأَغْيَارَ بِمُحِيطَاتِ أَفْلاَكِ الْأَنْوَارِ
wamaḥawtal aghyāra bimuḥīṭāti aflākil anwār
And erased the others by the encompassing orbits of light
827
يَا مَنِ احْتَجَبَ فِيْ سُرَادِقَاتِ عَرْشِهِ
yā maniḥtajaba fī surādiqāti `ar-shih
O He who has veiled Himself in the pavilions of His throne
828
عَنْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَهُ الْأَبْصَارُ
`an an tudrikahul abṣār
From being perceived by sight
829
يَا مَنْ تَجَلَّىٰ بِكَمَالِ بَهَائِهِ
yā man tajallā bikamāli bahā-ih
O He who has manifested Himself by the perfection of His splendor
830
فَتَحَقَّقَتْ عَظَمَتُهُ مِنَ الْإِسْتِوَاءِ
fataḥaqqaqat `aẓamatuhu minal istiwā
So His greatness was realized through His establishing Himself
831
كَيْفَ تَخْفىٰ وَأَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ
kayfa takhfā wa-antaẓ ẓāhir
How could You be hidden when You are the Manifest?
832
أَمْ كَيْفَ تَغِيبُ وَأَنْتَ الرَّقِيبُ الْحَاضِرُ
am kayfa taghību wa-antar raqībul ḥāḍir
Or how could You be absent when You are the Ever-Present Watcher?
833
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
innaka `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
Indeed, You have power over all things
834
وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَحْدَهُ
walḥamdu lillāhi waḥdah
And all praise belongs to Allah alone
