اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ سَيِّدِ الْاَنْبِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta sayyidil anbiyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the master of the prophets

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ صَاحِبِ الحَوْضِ وَاللِّوَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ṣāḥibil ḥawḍi wal liwā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the owner of the fountain and the banner

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ عُرِجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man `urija bihi ilas samā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who was ascended to the heavens
4
وَوَصَلَ إِلَى مَقَامِ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ اَوْ أَدْنَى
wawaṣala ilā maqāmi qāba qawsayni aw adnā
And reached the position of "two bows' length or nearer"
5
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ نَبِيِّ الهُدَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta nabiyyil hudā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Prophet of guidance
6
وَسَيِّدِ الوَرَى وَمُنْقِذِ العِبَادِ مِنَ الرَّدَى
wasayyidil warā wamunqidhil `ibādi minar radā
The master of all creation and the savior of servants from destruction
7
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ صَاحِبِ الخُلُقِ العَظِيْمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ṣāḥibil khuluqil `aẓīm
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one with great character
8
وَالشَّرَفِ العَمِيمِ وَالْآيَاتِ وَالذِّكْرِ الحَكِيْمِ
wash sharafil `amīmi wal-āyāti wadh dhikril ḥakīm
And abundant honor, and signs, and wise remembrance
9
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ صَاحِبِ المَقَامِ المَحْمُوْدِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ṣāḥibil maqāmil maḥmūd
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the owner of the praiseworthy station
10
وَالحَوْضِ المَوْرُوْدِ وَاللِّوَاءِ المَشْهُوْدِ
wālḥawḍil mawrūdi wal liwā-il mash-hūd
And the visited fountain and the witnessed banner
11
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْهَجِ دِيْنِ الْإِسْلاَمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta manhaji dīnil islām
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the methodology of the religion of Islam
12
وَصَاحِبِ القِبْلَةِ وَ الْقُرْآنِ
waṣāḥibil qiblati wal qur-ān
And owner of the Qibla and the Quran
13
وَعَلَمِ الصِّدْقِ وَالْحَقِّ وَالْإِحْسَانِ
wa`alamiṣ ṣidqi walḥaqqi wal-iḥsān
And the emblem of truth, righteousness, and excellence
14
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ صَفْوَةِ الْاَنْبِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ṣafwatil anbiyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the chosen one among prophets
15
وَعَلَمِ الْأَتْقِيَاءِ وَمَشْهُوْرِ الذِّكْرِ فِيْ الْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاءِ
wa`alamil atqiyā-i wamash-hūridh dhikri fil ar-ḍi was samā
And the emblem of the pious, renowned in remembrance on earth and in heaven
16
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
And may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
17
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ خَيْرِ خَلقِ اللَّهِ وَسَيِّدِ خَلْقِهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta khayri khalqillāhi wasayyidi khalqih
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the best of Allah's creation and the master of His creation
18
وَأَوَّلِ العَدَدِ قَبْلَ إيجَادِ أَرْضِهِ وَسَمَاوَاتِهِ
wa-awwalil `adadi qabla ijādi ar-ḍihi wasamāwātih
And the first number before the creation of His earth and heavens
19
وَ اَخِرِ الْاَبَدِ بَعْدَ فَنَاءِ الدُّنْيَا وَأَهْلِهَا
wa ākhiril abadi ba`da fanā-id dunyā wa-ahlihā
And the last eternal after the end of the world and its people
20
اَلَّذِيْ رُوحُهُ نُسْخَةُ اللَّاهُوتِ وَصُورَتُهُ نُسْخَةُ المُلْكِ وَالمَلَكُوتِ
al ladhī rūḥuhu nuskhatul lāhūti waṣūratuhu nuskhatul mulki wāl-malakūt
The one whose soul is a copy of divinity and whose image is a copy of the kingdom and dominion
21
وَقَلْبُهُ خُزَانَةُ الحَيِّ الَّذِيْ لَا يَمُوْتُ
waqalbuhu khuzānatul ḥayyil ladhī lā yamūt
And whose heart is a treasury of the Living One who never dies
22
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
And may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
23
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ المُظَلَّلِ بِالغَمَامِ
as salāmu `alayki yā bintal muẓallali bilghamām
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one shaded by clouds
24
سَيِّدِ الكَوْنَيْنِ وَمَوْلِي الثَّقَلَيْنِ
sayyidil kawnayni wamawlith thaqalayn
Master of the two worlds and guardian of the two weighty things
25
وَشَفِيْعِ الْأُمَّةِ يَوْمَ المَحْشَرِ
washafī`il ummati yawmal maḥshar
And intercessor for the nation on the Day of Gathering
26
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
And may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
27
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ سَيِّدِ الْاَوْصِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta sayyidil awṣiyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the master of successors
28
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ إِمَامِ الْأَتْقِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta imāmil atqiyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Imam of the pious
29
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ رُكْنِ الَاوْلِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ruknil awliyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the pillar of guardians
30
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ عِمَادِ الْأَصْفِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta `imādil aṣfiyā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the support of the chosen ones
31
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ يَعْسوبِ الدِّينِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ya`subid dīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the leader of religion
32
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ أَمِيرِ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta amīril mu-minīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Commander of the Faithful
33
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ سَيِّدِ الوَصِيِّينَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta sayyidil waṣiyyīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the master of successors
34
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ قَائِدِ البَرَرَةِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta qā-idil bararah
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the leader of the righteous
35
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ قَامِعِ الكَفَرَةِ وَالفَجَرَةِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta qāmi`il kafarati wālfajarah
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the vanquisher of disbelievers and the immoral
36
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ وَارِثِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta wārithin nabiyyīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the inheritor of prophets
37
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ خَلِيْفَةِ سَيِّدِ المُرْسَلِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta khalīfati sayyidil mur-salīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the successor of the master of messengers
38
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ ضِيَاءِ الدِّيْنِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta ḍiyā-id dīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the light of religion
39
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ النَّبَأِ العَظِيْمِ عَلَى اليَقِيْنِ
as salāmu `alayki yā bintan naba-il `aẓīmi `alal yaqīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the great news with certainty
40
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ حِسَابُ النَّاسِ عَلَيْهِ وَالكَوْثَرُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man ḥisābun nāsi `alayhi wālkawtharu bayna yadayh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of he upon whom rests the account of people and before whom is the Kawthar
41
وَالنَّصُّ يَوْمَ الغَدِيْرِ عَلَيْهِ
wan naṣṣu yawmal ghadīri `alayh
And upon whom was the declaration on the day of Ghadeer
42
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
And may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
43
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ قَادَ زِمَامَ نَاقَتِهَا جِبرَائِيلُ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man qāda zimāma nāqatihā jibrā-īl
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one whose camel's reins were led by Gabriel
44
وَشَارَكَهَا فِيْ مُصَابهَا إِسْرَافِيلُ
washārakahā fī muṣābhā isrāfīl
And with whom Israfil shared in her affliction
45
وَغَضِبَ بِسَبَبِهَا الرَّبُّ الجَلِيلُ
waghaḍiba bisababihar rabbul jalīl
And for whose sake the Majestic Lord became angry
46
وَبَكَى لِمُصَابِهَا إِبْرَاهِيْمُ الخَلِيْلُ
wabakā limuṣābihā ibrāhīmul khalīl
And for whose affliction Abraham the Friend wept
47
وَنُوحٌ وَمُوْسَى الكَلِيمُ فِيْ كَرْبَلاءَ
wanūḥun wamūsal kalīmu fī kar-balā
And Noah and Moses the Speaker in Karbala
48
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ البُدُورِ السَّوَاطِعِ
as salāmu `alayki yā bintal budūris sawāṭi`
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the bright moons
49
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ الشُّمُوسِ الطَّوَالِعِ، وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
as salāmu `alayki yā bintash shumūsiṭ ṭawāli`, waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the rising suns, and may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ زَمْزَمَ وَالصَّفَا
as salāmu `alayki yā binta zamzama waṣ ṣafā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Zamzam and Safa
51
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَكَّةَ وَمِنَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta makkata waminā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Mecca and Mina
52
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ حُمِلَ عَلَى البُرَاقِ فِيْ الهَوَاء
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man ḥumila `alal burāqi fil hawa
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who was carried on Buraq through the air
53
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ حَمَلَ الزَّكَاةَ بِأَطْرَافِ الرِّدَاءِ وَبَذَلَهُ عَلَى الْفُقَرَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man ḥamalaz zakāta bi-aṭrāfir ridā-i wabadhalahu `alal fuqarā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who carried charity in the edges of his cloak and gave it to the poor
54
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man usriya bihi minal masjidil ḥarāmi ilal masjidil aqṣā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who was taken by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque
55
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ ضَرَبَ بِالسَّيْفَيْن
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man ḍaraba bissayfayn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who fought with two swords
56
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مَنْ صَلَّى القِبْلَتَيْنِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta man ṣallal qiblatayn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the one who prayed toward both Qiblas
57
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ المُصْطَفَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta muḥammadinil muṣṭafā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Muhammad, the Chosen One
58
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ عَلِيٍّ المُرْتَضَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta `aliyyinil mur-taḍā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Ali, the Satisfied One
59
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta fāṭimataz zahrā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Fatima Al-Zahra
60
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ خَدِيْجَةَ الكُبْرَى
as salāmu `alayki yā binta khadījatal kubrā
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Khadija Al-Kubra
61
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى جَدِّكِ مُحَمَّدٍ المُخْتَارِ
as salāmu `alayki wa`alā jaddiki muḥammadinil mukhtār
Peace be upon you and upon your grandfather Muhammad, the Chosen One
62
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى أَبِيْكِ حَيْدَرَ الكَرَّارِ
as salāmu `alayki wa`alā abīki ḥaydaral karrār
Peace be upon you and upon your father Haydar, the Attacker
63
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى السَّادَاتِ الْأَطْهَارِ الْأَخْيَارِ
as salāmu `alayki wa`alas sādātil aṭ-hāril akhyār
Peace be upon you and upon the pure, righteous masters
64
وَهُمْ حُجَجُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْأَقْطَارِ وَسَادَاتُ الْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاءِ
wahum ḥujajullāhi `alal aqṭāri wasādātul ar-ḍi was samā
They are Allah's proofs upon the regions and masters of earth and heaven
65
اَلَّذِيْنَ حُبُّهُمْ فَرَضٌ عَلَى أَعْنَاقِ كُلِّ الخَلَائِقِ
al ladhīna ḥubbuhum faraḍun `alā a`nāqi kullil khalā-iq
Those whose love is obligatory upon the necks of all creatures
66
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ المُعَظَّمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta waliyyillāhil mu`aẓẓam
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah's exalted guardian
67
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا عَمَّةَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ المُكَرَّمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā `ammata waliyyillāhil mukarram
Peace be upon you, O aunt of Allah's honored guardian
68
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا أُمَّ المَصَائِبِ يَا زَيْنَبُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
as salāmu `alayki yā ummal maṣā-ibi yā zaynabu waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
Peace be upon you, O mother of calamities, O Zainab, and may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
69
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا الفَاضِلَةُ الرَّشِيدَةُ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal fāḍilatur rashīdah
Peace be upon you, O virtuous, rightly guided one
70
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا الكَامِلَةُ العَالِمَةُ العَامِلَةُ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal kāmilatul `ālimatul `āmilah
Peace be upon you, O perfect, knowledgeable, devoted one
71
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا الكَرِيْمَةُ النَّبِيْلَةُ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal karīmatun nabīlah
Peace be upon you, O noble, distinguished one
72
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا التَّقِيَّةُ النَّقِيَّةُ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhat taqiyyatun naqiyyah
Peace be upon you, O pious, pure one
73
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مَنْ ظَهَرَتْ مَحَبَّتُهَا لِلْحُسَيْنِ المَظْلُوْمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā man ẓaharat maḥabbatuhā lilḥusaynil maẓlūm
Peace be upon you, O one whose love for the oppressed Husayn was manifested
74
فِيْ مَوَارِدَ عَدِيْدَةٍ وَتَحَمِلُ المَصَائِبَ المَحُرِقَةَ لِلْقُلُوْبِ مَعَ تَحَمُّلَاتٍ شَدِيْدَةٍ
fī mawārida `adīdatin wataḥamilul maṣā-ibal maḥuriqata lilqulūbi ma`a taḥammulātin shadīdah
In numerous situations, enduring heart-burning calamities with intense forbearance
75
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مَنْ حَفِظَتِ الْإِمَامَ فِيْ يَوْمِ عَاشُوْرَاءَ فِيْ القَتْلَى
as salāmu `alayki yā man ḥafiẓatil imāma fī yawmi `āshūrā-a fil qatlā
Peace be upon you, O one who protected the Imam on the day of Ashura among the slain
76
وَبَذَلَتْ نَفْسَهَا فِيْ نَجَاةِ زَيْنِ العَابِدِيْنَ فِيْ مَجَلِسِ أَشْقَى الْأَشْقِيَاءِ
wabadhalat nafsahā fī najāti zaynil `ābidīna fī majalisi ashqal ashqiyā
And sacrificed herself for the salvation of Zain al-Abidin in the assembly of the most wretched of the wretched
77
وَنَطَقَتْ كَنُطْقِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ فِيْ سِكَكِ الكُوْفَةِ وَحَوْلَهَا كَثِيْرٌ مِنَ الْأَعْدَاءِ
wanaṭaqat kanuṭqi `aliyyin `alayhis salāmu fī sikakil kūfati waḥawlahā kathīrun minal a`dā
And spoke as Ali, peace be upon him, spoke in the streets of Kufa with many enemies around her
78
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مَنْ نَطَحَتْ جَبينَهَا بِمُقَدَّمِ الْمَحْمَلِ إِذْ رَأَتْ رَأْسَ سَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki yā man naṭaḥat jabinahā bimuqaddamil maḥmali idh ra-at ra-sa sayyidish shuhadā
Peace be upon you, O one who struck her forehead against the front of the howdah when she saw the head of the Master of Martyrs
79
وَيَخْرُجُ الدَّمُ مِنْ تَحْتِ قِنَاعِهَا وَمِنْ مَحْمَلِهَا بِحَيْثُ يَرَى مَنْ حَوْلَهَا مِنَ الْأَعْدَاءُ
wayakhrujud damu min taḥti qinā`ihā wamin maḥmalihā biḥaythu yarā man ḥawlahā minal a`dā
And blood flowed from beneath her veil and from her howdah where the enemies around her could see
80
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا تَالِيَةَ المَعْصُوْمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā tāliyatal ma`ṣūm
Peace be upon you, O follower of the Infallible
81
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مُمْتَحَنَةُ فِيْ تَحَمُّلِ المَصَائِبِ كَالْحُسَيْنِ المَظْلُوْمِ
as salāmu `alayki yā mumtaḥanatu fī taḥammulil maṣā-ibi kalḥusaynil maẓlūm
Peace be upon you, O one tested in bearing calamities like the oppressed Husayn
82
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
And may Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
83
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا البَعِيْدَةُ عَنِ الْاَوْطَانِ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal ba`īdatu `anil awṭān
Peace be upon you, O one distant from homelands
84
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا الْاَسِيْرَةُ فِيْ البُلْدَانِ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal asīratu fil buldān
Peace be upon you, O captive in foreign lands
85
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا المُتَحَيَّرَةُ فِيْ خَرَابَةِ الشَّامِ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal mutaḥayyaratu fī kharābatish shām
Peace be upon you, O bewildered one in the ruins of Damascus
86
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ أَيَّتُهَا المُتَحَيَّرَةُ فِيْ وُقُوْفِكِ عَلَى جَسَدِ سَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ
as salāmu `alayki ayyatuhal mutaḥayyaratu fī wuqūfiki `alā jasadi sayyidish shuhadā
Peace be upon you, O bewildered one in your standing over the body of the Master of Martyrs
87
وَخَاطَبْتِ جَدَّكِ رَسُوْلَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ بِهٰذَا النِّدَاءِ
wakhāṭabti jaddaki rasūlallāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālihi bihādhan nidā
And you addressed your grandfather, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, with this call
88
صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاءِ
ṣallā `alayka malā-ikatus samā
May the angels of heaven send blessings upon you
89
هٰذَا حُسَيْنٌ بِالْعَرَاءِ مَسْلُوْبُ العِمَامَةِ وَالرِّدَاءِ
hādhā ḥusaynun bil `arā-i maslūbul `imāmati war ridā
This is Husayn in the open, stripped of turban and cloak
90
مُقَطَّعُ الْاَعْضَاءِ
muqaṭṭa`ul a`ḍā
With dismembered limbs
91
وَبَنَاتُكَ سَبَايَا
wabanātuka sabāyā
And your daughters are captives
92
وَإِلَى اللَّهِ المُشْتَكَى
wa-ilallāhil mushtakā
And to Allah is the complaint
93
وَقَالَتْ
waqālat
And she said
94
يَا مُحَمَّدُ هٰذَا حُسَيْنٌ تَسْفِيْ عَلَيْهِ رِيْحُ الصَّبَا
yā muḥammadu hādhā ḥusaynun tasfī `alayhi rīḥuṣ ṣabā
O Muhammad, this is Husayn with the east wind blowing over him
95
جَذُوْذَ الرَّأْسِ مِنَ الْقَفَا
jadhūdhar ra-si minal qafā
His head severed from the back
96
قَتِيْلَ أَوْلَادِ الْبِغَا
qatīla awlādil bighā
Killed by the children of prostitutes
97
وَ احُزْنَاهُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّه
waḥuznāhu `alayka yā abā `abdillāh
Oh, my grief for you, O Abu Abdullah
98
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مَنْ تَهَيَّجَ قَلْبُهَا لِلْحُسَيْنِ
as salāmu `alayki yā man tahayyaja qalbuhā lilḥusayn
Peace be upon you, O one whose heart was stirred for Husayn
99
اَلمَظْلُوْمِ العُرْيَانِ المَطْرُوْحِ عَلَى الثَّرَى
al maẓlūmil `ur-yānil maṭrūḥi `alath tharā
The oppressed, naked, thrown on the ground
100
وَقَالَتْ بِصَوْتٍ حَزِيْنٍ
waqālat biṣawtin ḥazīn
And she said with a sorrowful voice
101
بِأَبِيْ مَنْ نَفْسِيْ لَهُ الْفِدَاءُ
bi-abī man nafsī lahul fidā
By my father, may my soul be sacrificed for him
102
بِأَبِيْ المَهْمُوْمُ حَتَّى قَضَى
bi-abil mahmūmu ḥattā qaḍā
By my father, the grief-stricken until he passed away
103
بِأَبِيْ مَنْ شَيْبَتُهُ تَقْطِرُ بِالدِّمَاء
bi-abī man shaybatuhu taqṭiru bid dima
By my father, whose beard drips with blood
104
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ بَكَتْ عَلَى جَسَدِ أَخِيْهَا بَيْنَ القَتْلَى
as salāmu `alā man bakat `alā jasadi akhīhā baynal qatlā
Peace upon one who wept over her brother's body among the slain
105
حَتَّى بَكَى لِبُكَائِهَا كُلُّ صَدِيْقٍ وَعَدُوٍّ
ḥattā bakā libukā-ihā kullu ṣadīqin wa`aduww
Until every friend and enemy wept at her weeping
106
وَرَأَى النَّاسُ دُمُوْعَ الخَيْلِ تَنْحَدِرُ عَلَى حَوَافِرِهَا عَلَى التَّحْقِيْقِ
wara-an nāsu dumū`al khayli tanḥadiru `alā ḥawāfirihā `alat taḥqīq
And people saw the tears of horses flowing down their hooves in truth
107
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ تَكَفَّلَتْ وَجْمَعَتْ فِيْ عَصْرِ عَاشُوْرَاءَ بَنَاتِ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ وَأَطْفَالِ الحُسَيْنِ
as salāmu `alā man takaffalat wajma`at fī `aṣri `āshūrā-a banāti rasūlillāhi wa-aṭfālil ḥusayn
Peace upon one who took responsibility and gathered on the afternoon of Ashura the daughters of Allah's Messenger and Husayn's children
108
وَقَامَتْ لَهَا القِيَامَةُ فِيْ شَهَادَةِ الطِّفْلَيْنِ الغَرِيْبَيْنِ المَظْلُوْمَيْنِ
waqāmat lahal qiyāmatu fī shahādatiṭ ṭiflaynil gharībaynil maẓlūmayn
And the resurrection came for her in the martyrdom of the two strange, oppressed children
109
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ لَمْ تَنَمْ عَيْنُهَا لِأَجْلِ حِرَاسَةِ آلَ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ فِيْ طَفْ نِيْنَوَى
as salāmu `alā man lam tanam `aynuhā li-ajli ḥirāsati-āla rasūlillāhi fī ṭaf nīnawā
Peace upon one whose eye did not sleep for the sake of guarding the family of Allah's Messenger in the land of Nineveh
110
وَصَارَتْ أَسِيْرَةً ذَلِيْلَةً بِيَدِ الْأَعْدَاءِ
waṣārat asīratan dhalīlatan biyadil a`dā
And became a humiliated captive in the hands of enemies
111
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ رَكِبَتْ بَعِيْرًا بِغَيْرِ
as salāmu `alā man rakibat ba`īran bighayr
Peace upon one who rode a camel without
112
وِطَاءٍ وَنَادَتْ أَخَاهَا أَبَا الفَضْلِ بِهٰذَا النِّدَاء
wiṭā-in wanādat akhāhā abal faḍli bihādhan nida
A cushion and called to her brother Abul Fadl with this call
113
أَخِيْ أَبَا الفَضْلِ
akhī abal faḍl
My brother Abul Fadl
114
اَنْتَ الَّذِيْ أَرْكَبْتَنِيْ إِذْ أَرَدْتُ الخُرُوْجَ مِنَ الْمَدِيْنَةِ
antal ladhī ar-kabtanī idh aradtul khurūja minal madīnah
You are the one who mounted me when I wanted to leave Medina
115
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ خَطَبَتْ فِيْ مَيْدَانِ الكُوْفَةِ بِخِطْبَةٍ نَافِعَةٍ
as salāmu `alā man khaṭabat fī maydānil kūfati bikhiṭbatin nāfi`ah
Peace upon one who delivered a beneficial sermon in the square of Kufa
116
حَتَّى سَكَنَتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ مِنْ كُلِّ نَاحِيَةٍ
ḥattā sakanatil aṣwātu min kulli nāḥiyah
Until voices were silenced from every direction
117
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنِ احْتَجَّتْ فِيْ مَجْلِسِ ابْنِ زِيَادٍ بِاحَتْجَاجَاتٍ وَاضِحَةٍ وَقَالَتْ فِيْ جَوَابِهِ بِبَيِّنَاتٍ صَادِقَةٍ، إِذْ قَالَ ابْنُ زِيَادٍ لِزَيْنَبَ سَلَامُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا
as salāmu `alā maniḥtajjat fī majlisibni ziyādin biḥatjājātin wāḍiḥatin waqālat fī jawābihi bibayyinātin ṣādiqah, idh qālabnu ziyādin lizaynaba salāmullāhi `alayhā
Peace upon one who argued in the assembly of Ibn Ziyad with clear arguments and responded to him with truthful evidence, when Ibn Ziyad said to Zainab, peace be upon her
118
كَيْفَ رَأَيْتِ صُنْعَ اللَّهِ بِأَخِيْكِ الحُسَيْنِ
kayfa ra-ayti ṣun`allāhi bi-akhīkil ḥusayn
How did you find Allah's dealing with your brother Husayn?
119
قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ إِلَّا جَمِيْلًا
qālat mā ra-aytu illā jamīlā
She said: I saw nothing but beauty
120
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا أَسِيْرَةً بِأَيْدِيْ الْأَعْدَاءِ فِيْ الفَلَوَاتِ
as salāmu `alayki yā asīratan bi-aydil a`dā-i fil falawāt
Peace be upon you, O captive in the hands of enemies in the deserts
121
وَرَأَيْتِ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ فِيْ حَالَةِ العَيْشِ وَالسُّرُوْرِ وَنَشْرِ الرَّايَاتِ
wara-ayti ahlish shāmi fī ḥālatil `ayshi was surūri wanashrir rāyāt
And you saw the people of Damascus in a state of luxury, happiness, and raising banners
122
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ شُدَّ الحَبْلُ عَلَى عَضُدِهَا وَعُنُقِ الْإِمَامِ زَيْنِ العَابِدِيْنَ
as salāmu `alā man shuddal ḥablu `alā `aḍudihā wa`unuqil imāmi zaynil `ābidīn
Peace upon one on whose arm and the neck of Imam Zain al-Abidin ropes were tightened
123
وَأَدْخَلُوْهَا مَعَ سِتَّةَ عَشْرَ نَفَرًا مِنْ آلِ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ
wa-adkhalūhā ma`a sittata `ashra nafaran min-āli rasūlillāh
And they brought her in with sixteen people from the family of Allah's Messenger
124
وَهُمْ كَالْأُسَرَاءِ مُقَرَّنِيْنَ بِالْحَدِيْدِ مَظْلُوْمِيْنَ
wahum kal-usarā-i muqarranīna bil ḥadīdi maẓlūmīn
Like prisoners, bound in iron, oppressed
125
وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ لِيَزِيْدَ
waqāla `aliyyubnul ḥusayni `alayhis salāmu liyazīd
And Ali ibn al-Husayn, peace be upon him, said to Yazid
126
يَا يَزِيْدُ مَا ظَنُّكَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ لَوْ رَانَا عَلَى هٰذِهِ الْحَالَةِ
yā yazīdu mā ẓannuka birasūlillāhi ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālihi law rānā `alā hādhihil ḥālah
O Yazid, what do you think the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, would say if he saw us in this state?
127
ثُمَّ قَالَتْ أُمُّ المَصَائِبِ زَيْنَبُ لَهُ
thumma qālat ummul maṣā-ibi zaynabu lah
Then the mother of calamities, Zainab, said to him
128
قَائِلًا لَأَهَلُّوْا وَاسْتَهَلُّوْا فَرَحًا ثُمَّ قَالُوْا يَا يَزِيْدُ لَا تُشَلْ
qā-ilan la-ahallū wastahallū faraḥan thumma qālū yā yazīdu lā tushal
Saying, "They would rejoice and celebrate happily, then say, 'O Yazid, may your hand not be paralyzed'"
129
مُنْتَحِيًا عَلَى ثَنَايَا أَبِيْ عَبْدِاللَّهِ، عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ
muntaḥiyan `alā thanāyā abī `abdillāh, `alayhis salām
Leaning over the front teeth of Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him
130
سَيِّدِ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ تَنْكُتُهَا بِمِخْصَرَتِكَ
sayyidi shabābi ahlil jannati tankutuhā bimikhṣaratik
The master of the youth of Paradise, striking them with your staff
131
ثُمَّ قَالَتْ وَلَئِنْ جَرَتْ عَلَيَّ الدَّوَاهِيْ مُخَاطَبَتَكَ
thumma qālat wala-in jarat `alayyad dawāhī mukhāṭabatak
Then she said: Even if calamities have brought me to address you
132
إِنِّيْ لَأَسْتَصْغِرُ قَدْرَكَ وَأَسْتَعْظِمُ تَقْرِيْعَكَ وَأَسْتَكْثِرُ تَوْبِيخَكَ
innī la-astaṣghiru qadraka wa-asta`ẓimu taqrī`aka wa-astakthiru tawbīkhak
I consider your worth small, your rebuke great, and your reproach abundant
133
لٰكِنِ العُيُوْنُ عَبْرَى وَالصُّدُوْرُ حَرَّى
lākinil `uyūnu `abrā waṣ ṣudūru ḥarrā
But eyes are tearful and hearts are burning
134
أَلْاَ فَالْعَجَبُ كُلُّ الْعَجَبِ لِقَتْلِ حِزْبِ اللَّهِ النُّجَبَاءِ بِحِزْبِ الشَّيْطَانِ الطُّلَقَاءِ
al-a fal`ajabu kullul `ajabi liqatli ḥizbillāhin nujabā-i biḥizbish shayṭāniṭ ṭulaqā
The wonder, all wonder, is at the killing of Allah's noble party by the party of Satan, the freed ones
135
لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَنَا مَغْنَمًا لَتَجِدُنَا وَشِيْكًا مُغْرَمًا حِيْنَ لَا تَجِدُ اِلَّا مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاكَ
la-inittakhadhtanā maghnaman latajidunā washīkan mughraman ḥīna lā tajidu illā mā qaddamat yadāk
If you take us as booty, you will soon find us a burden when you find nothing but what your hands have sent forth
136
وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيْدِ
wamā rabbuka biẓallāmin lil`abīd
And your Lord is not unjust to His servants
137
فَإلَى اللَّهِ المُشْتَكَى وَعَلَيْهِ المُعَوَّلُ فِيْ الشِّدَّةِ وَالرَّخَاءِ
fa-lallāhil mushtakā wa`alayhil mu`awwalu fish shiddati war rakhā
To Allah we complain and upon Him we rely in hardship and ease
138
فَكِدْ كَيْدَكَ وَاسْعَ سَعْيَكَ وَنَاصِبْ جَهْدَكَ
fakid kaydaka was`a sa`yaka wanāṣib jahdak
So plot your plot, strive your striving, and exert your effort
139
فَوَاللَّهِ لَا تَمْحُوَنَّ ذِكْرَنَا وَلَا تُمِيْتُ وَحْيَنَا
fawallāhi lā tamḥuwanna dhikranā walā tumītu waḥyanā
By Allah, you will never erase our memory nor kill our revelation
140
وَلَا تُدْرِكُ أَمَدَنَا وَلَا تَرْخَصُ عَنْكَ عَارَهَا
walā tudriku amadanā walā tar-khaṣu `anka `ārahā
Nor will you reach our limit nor will its shame be removed from you
141
وَهَلْ رَأْيُكَ إِلَّا فَنَدٌ وَأَيَّامُكَ إِلَّا عَدَدٌ
wahal ra-yuka illā fanadun wa-ayyāmuka illā `adad
Is your opinion anything but falsehood, your days but numbered
142
وَجَمْعُكَ إِلَّا بَدَدٌ
wajam`uka illā badad
And your gathering but dispersed?
143
يَا يَزِيْدُ أَمَا سَمَعْتُ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى
yā yazīdu amā sama`tu qawlallāhi ta`ālā
O Yazid, have you not heard Allah's words
144
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ قُتِلُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا
walā taḥsabannal ladhīna qutilū fī sabīlillāhi amwātā
"And do not think of those who have been killed in Allah's way as dead
145
بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُوْنَ
bal aḥyā-un `inda rabbihim yur-zaqūn
Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision"
146
فَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
falḥamdu lillāhi rabbil `ālamīn
All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds
147
اَلَّذِيْ خَتَمَ لِأَوَّلِنَا بِالسَّعَادَةِ وَ المَغْفِرَةِ
al ladhī khatama li-awwalinā bissa`ādati wal maghfirah
Who sealed for our first ones with happiness and forgiveness
148
وَلِآخِرِنَا بِالشَّهَادَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ
wali-ākhirinā bishhahādati war raḥmah
And for our last ones with martyrdom and mercy
149
وَنَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُكْمِلَ لَهُمُ الثَّوَابَ
wanas-alullāha an yukmila lahumuth thawāb
And we ask Allah to complete their reward
150
وَيُوْجِبَ لَهُمُ المَزِيْدَ وَيُحْسِنُ عَلَيْنَا الخِلَافَةَ
wayūjiba lahumul mazīda wayuḥsinu `alaynal khilāfah
And grant them increase and make the succession good for us
151
إِنَّهُ رَحِيْمٌ وَدُوْدٌ
innahu raḥīmun wadūd
He is Merciful and Loving
152
وَحَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الوَكِيْلُ
waḥasbunallāhu wani`mal wakīl
Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs
153
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِين
waṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadin wa ālihiṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīn
And may Allah bless Muhammad and his pure, purified family
