بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
يَا عَلِيُّ يَا عَظِيمُ
yā `aliyyu yā `aẓīm
O the Most High, O the Most Great
2
يَا غَفُورُ يَا رَحِيمُ
yā ghafūru yā raḥīm
O the Most Forgiving, O the Most Merciful
3
أَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الْعَظِيمُ
antar rabbul `aẓīm
You are the Great Lord
4
اَلَّذِيْ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
al ladhī laysa kamithlihi shay
There is nothing like unto You
5
وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
wahuwas samī`ul baṣīr
And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing
6
وَهٰذَا شَهْرٌ عَظَّمْتَهُ وَكَرَّمْتَهُ
wahādhā shahrun `aẓẓamtahu wakarramtah
And this is a month which You have magnified and honored
7
وَشَرَّفْتَهُ وَفَضَّلْتَهُ عَلَى الشُّهُورِ
washarraftahu wafaḍḍaltahu `alash shuhūr
And You have dignified it and preferred it over all other months
8
وَهُوَ الشَّهْرُ الَّذِيْ فَرَضْتَ صِيَامَهُ عَلَيَّ
wahuwash shahrul ladhī faraḍta ṣiyāmahu `alayy
And it is the month in which You have made fasting obligatory upon me
9
وَهُوَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
wahuwa shahru ramaḍān
And it is the month of Ramadan
10
اَلَّذِيْ أَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْآنَ
al ladhī anzalta fīhil qur-ān
In which You revealed the Quran
11
هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ
hudan linnāsi wabayyinātin minal hudā walfur-qān
As guidance for mankind, with clear proofs of guidance and the criterion
12
وَجَعَلْتَ فِيْهِ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ
waja`alta fīhi laylatal qadr
And You have placed in it the Night of Power
13
وَجَعَلْتَهَا خَيْرًا مِنَ الفِ شَهْرٍ
waja`altahā khayran minal fi shahr
And You have made it better than a thousand months
14
فَيَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَلَا يُمَنُّ عَلَيْكَ
fayā dhal manni walā yumannu `alayk
O the One who bestows favors and none can bestow favors upon You
15
مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِفَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
munna `alayya bifakāki raqabatī minan nār
Bestow Your favor upon me by freeing me from the Fire
16
فِيْ مَنْ تَمُنُّ عَلَيْهِ
fī man tamunnu `alayh
Among those whom You favor
17
وَأَدْخِلْنِيْ الْجَنَّةَ
wa-adkhilnil jannah
And admit me into Paradise
18
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
By Your mercy, O the Most Merciful of those who show mercy
